Custom Scenery Exchange / What do you use?

I was wondering what program you guys use to make custom scenery. Things that match the game that is. I have Adobe Photoshop, and I think that'll handle making some things pretty easily. I just wanted to know what you all use.

Also, does it work to make something in the game out of objects, then just to edit and resize a picture of the overall object?
For example, to make the steps Toon made, you could just make a set of steps out of 1/4 tile base blocks, then zoom out and take a screenshot with base land removed to keep the background black. Then the picture is cropped and resized, pasted into the object editor, and presto, a new object. Is that how it's done? ???

    Thanks. :)

ALL my objects have been done with MS Paint... i just grab the palette from the object eitor and use them to create the objects in Paint. I copy and paste existing objects into Paint as well as a basis and/or to see the methods used to create the object. (for textures etc)

Photoshop all the way. A lot of cutting, pasting and pixel editing.

Sorry to bring this back up again, but I didn't feel I needed a new topic...

Anyway, I'm looking for a program that shows you an image of each dat file in your objdata folder. I had it awhile back, but I must have deleted it for whatever reason, and now I can't remember the name of it. It simply showed whether the file had any errors in it (I believe it signified this with different colored flags - red, yellow, and green), as well as showing a picture of the dat file.

    Thanks for your help. :)

    Edit - Nevermind, I found it. ;)

There are two that can provide you at least one view of your objects.

There is RCTExplorer by Dr J and DatChecker by humble_programmer. The links to their sites are in the object creators list....
