have you read catcher in the rye?Because no one's mentioned Jonny Greenwood and way too many mentioned faggots like Vai and Saitriani and Yngwie and therefore induced projectile vomiting in me, I hate everything.

Also funny because guitarists don't seem to know shit about good music.funny because you don't know anything about guitars
Anywayz.
I once read an interview with, I think, Steve Wilson, where he says that Robert Fripp made a gagging gesture when Jimmy Page was mentioned. I laughed like a motherfucker.
Vai revolutionised music? I'm not sure dicking around with a moronic triple-necked guitar counts. I mean, what's the fucking deal with that shit?
In fact, with the exception of Hendicks, there, not one of those fags revolutionised shit. Except maybe musical masturbation methods, and that shit don't count, yo.
I'm going to pretend my favourite guitarist is Fennesz, just to really piss people off. And also because it's true.
Spoonie, Thurston Moore > Johnny Greenwood. If you deny it, you choke on more dick than my mother, who incidently died due to excess cum to the lungs. I may have been responsible. Everyday I take a trip to the cemetary and shoot a load over her gravestone. Perhaps one of those few moments in my life where I am truly distracted from my incredible depression. That's all you can ever hope for in life. Distraction. Moments.
The guard there, he once caught me, and was seriously pissed. I thought I was in deep trouble, but it turns out, he only wanted to strip search me. One anal-cavity-excavation-with-a-torch-followed-by-penis later, I was free to go!
It figures you would like The Catcher In The Rye, Spoonie. It just figures.
Not that I'm implying anything, here. Other than, you're a gigantic faggot, but we already knew that. -

Hmm. True. Very true.Spoonie, Thurston Moore > Johnny Greenwood.
I threw Greenwood out there kinda randomly. Had I put some thought into this, I probably would've called Thurston the best, but I don't put thought into lists about favorite guitarists or whatever. -

I would like to add Link Wray to the list.
The evolution from the guitar of Bo Diddley, and Chuck Berry, to the guitar of everyone on this list, is all Link Wray.
Also, Robert Fripp, Vini Riley, and Robin Guthrie, for beauty.
Question: do the keyboard players in M83 count? They should, after all, don't you think? -

Selections from the iTunes Music Store.
M83:
My favourites are "Be wild", "Beauties can die", "Gone", "In church", and "On a white lake, near a green mountain."
The best examples of the noise-rock nature of their electronica, however, are "Noise", and "Unrecorded."
Robin Guthrie:
The best examples of his guitar playing are from his work with Cocteau Twins.
Anything from either "Head over heels", or "Victorialand" will do. "Treasure" has it's moments as well.
Also, don't forget "Song to the siren."
Robert Fripp:
His best work is "Evening star", his second collaboration with Brian Eno.
Vini Riley:
They only have the two most recent, and most lackluster, of his releases, but, you can find them both here.
My favourite guitarist on this big list we've compiled, however, is Thurston Moore, which I forgot to say in my first post. -
