Fatha' you should know more then anyone that Yao deserves just about every call he gets. He moves on just about every screen, and tries to bulldoze his way down into the post. There's a difference between establishing position and just trying to throw a person out of the way, and Yao doesn't know that yet. Not to mention he does that stupid fucking whiney little face every time he gets called for a foul, even though he deserves them 99% of the time.
Bulldozing? What?!?!?
Yao Ming bulldozing? That word and that name should not even be used in the same sentence. When Yao gets physical (emphasis on when), it is because centers (in last game, Alan henderson) hook his arm, grab is jersey, throw him all over the place, and when he finally does get position, the refs call offensive fouls. If u want to see bulldozing, watch Shaq. He gets hardly any calls on him and he runs people over. The refs treat Yao like garbage, and frankly it pisses me off to see such a great (YES CORK, GREAT center) get treated like that. -

Welcome to kingsfan hell Fatha'. No matter how bad the calls get (and they seriously change the outcome of the game sometimes) all complaining ever gets you is ridicule. -

Well considering Yao Ming has about zero coordination and ends up moving during screens, throwing random body parts at people who fly buy him, jumping like an idiot when someone goes up, and leaning into people when he tries to draw a charge...he deserves to foul out of every game. -

I'm agreeing with Iris here. Yao is so uncoordinated I think he fouls accidentally.
oh yes... one of the many great things about the fall of the Lakers is that even if they get calls left and right now, they STILL eat shit!
ps Celtics-Pacers in the most unimpressive playoff series ever in a few minutes -

Bah.
Yao might move during screens, but he rarely makes contactwith the gaurd because they just move around him and follow McGrady. Unless he knocks somebody over while screening a guard you really can't call one on him. As far as throwing random body parts, jumping when people go up, and leaning into people when he draws charges, we must be watching a different game. Anytime somebody drives into Yao (when he is stationary, when hes moving towards a driving guard he does foul), he stands straight up. He isn't a shotblocker, so he doesn't jump and try to block shots.
Despite what you say, Yao gets treated far worse than Shaq does, and Shaq gets away with murder on the offensive end. Yao is far less physical yet gets called for far more offensive fouls when posting up. It doesn't add up.
Oh yeah, as for uncoordination, Yao is the most coordinated center over 7-4 that I have seen. Wanna see an uncoordinated baller? Look at Sean Bradley. -

George Muresan.
Anyway, I decided to check out the hoopla over Van Gundy, and I agree that this is pretty stupid. The only part I can see that might be justified is Van Gundy withholding the name of the ref who supposedly told him about the refs targeting Yao, but if that's the case, why don't they go and identify that instead of masking it?
So yeah. Pretty stupid scenario.
But face it, Fatha. Rockets aren't in the elite yet. Mavs will win.
And if they don't, I'll treat you to a trip to SFMM or something. -

Cork the series isn't over. I intially thought this would go seven (Well before the Rockets took the first two in Dallas), so perhaps that prediction will stand.
Oh, and ESPN showed an interesting stat.... over the regular season against Dallas, Yao totalled 12 fouls in 4 games..... in 5 playoff games (where physical play should be allowed moreso than regular season games), Yao has been called for 24 fouls. I dont care what anyone says, that is absurd. -

But if Houston's so good, they should win despite that.

It's not just Yao though, it's happening to everybody. And it does every year too. The foul calls made most of the first two Kings-Seattle games unwatchable I thought. Just about every time down the court there was a foul called. Whatever happened to just letting them play? I didn't notice it as much in game 5. But the general effect of that is that it's hard for a team to find an offensive rhythm when they keep stopping play all the time.Oh, and ESPN showed an interesting stat.... over the regular season against Dallas, Yao totalled 12 fouls in 4 games..... in 5 playoff games (where physical play should be allowed moreso than regular season games), Yao has been called for 24 fouls. Fuck everyone else. The Spurs are moving on to the next round after a slow start against Denver. It should be interesting with Ray Allen already talking shit about Bowen. I think the Spurs will win in 6.
I thought the Washington-Chicago game a few days ago was great. Anyone catch it? -

Well, perfect except for one series so far... tho the # of games thing has been pretty off. Ah well... Wiz won!
Now they die vs the Heat. Nice knowing ya.
Oh, and in huge news, sources say Steve Nash will beat out Shaq to win the MVP.

He'll become only the 4th true PG in history to win it, but he's been my pick all year. -

I'm glad for Steve Nash. He's really proven himself in the leauge, made great accomplishments for his team, and has looked really awesome doing it too. -

A white guy wins MVP in the NBA? and is from Canada? wtf???
And Shaq got Hurricaned... -
Jellybones Offline
the million to one shot at a Boston trifecta is gone.
HOWEVER...
Steve Nash deserves MVP, because he's the coolest guy in the NBA. white guy, long(ish) hair, and from my homeland of Canada... great man. and the header at the Slam Dunk Contest alone deserves some kind of award. Stoudamire got the hype but Nash got the headache, from that one. -

Hope Fatha didn't hang himself.
He can't really make any excuses for THIS game. Unless he blames T-Mac. Which he prolly will.
Roll on, Dallas. This should be a great series. Something like 135-129 average score. -

And Indiana crushed Boston 97-70....at Boston. Another Pacers/Pistons matchup, should be interesting. -

V-Rad and Allen hobbled.
Seattle is a goner.
And I don't see the Heat losing until the Eastern Finals unless Shaq and Wade both suffer heart attacks.
