Maybe too many flat rides in Amazonia?
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo

True, 11111111 in binary is equal to 255 in decimal, but the game reads from 00000000 to 11111111,  or 0-255.  So there are really 256 slots.  At least I'm assuming that's true, because 00 does represent a lot of things in WinHack, as does FF (=255 in hexidecimal).  But, still, 1 ride wont make much of a difference, as WME said.

There might be 256 slots, but I'm 99.999999999% sure that you can only put 255 rides in. I think Snow Drop is right at the limit, and it's at 255. Feel free to check me on this.

the first ride slot is taken at 00, i believe. But really, why would you need 256 rides? 'Tis only because he's using about 30 per area as theming, me thinks. Or seperate stalls that could be one. Again, easily fixed. With my help the "virtual limit" is quite a lot bigger.

(for proof, check out Universal's Lost World. only 102 attractions, and with so many stalls it might have gone over the limit. Check out in how many places you can find the "cash-register" or the "toilets". They're all one ride. As well as the whole marvel alterniverse store, with lined up stalls. (and cash registers, of course =P.) The tickets are all one ride, and all the covers in the entrance area made out of entrances for invert coasters are one ride as well. Since almost every ride slot consists of 2 or more rides, I would probably have easily met the limit. So just send it my way if you get in trouble and i'll work some miracles ;))

Well WME, its looking more and more like BGSS needs a miracle ;)

Incredible park you've got in the works Fatha!
Can't wait to see it all done and on the spotlights page. ;)

Wow, great park, and I like your style! Its so funny though. Why are paths and land used for rooves and walls? Is there a limit to what Rct can offer? Is custom objects availible to the game? Do they ahve rooves and walls? I've never played Rct, and I can tell that it is a fine game, but has many limitations. SOme of my friends say its boring compared to Rct2, is it true?
  • tracidEdge%s's Photo
    FUCK no.

LL's so much cooler than this rct2 crap. You can't just make some shitty custom scenery to acheive your goal. you have to get creative. which is what makes it better. and it's funner!
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
Yes you have to be creative but you also have to have the patience to execute that creativity. But yes....RCT2 is *usually* defined by how good your custom scenery is. The exceptions are the great rct2 parkmakers, like SAC, X-Sector, and Kevin (Turtle isnt bad either).

It uses land to create buildings because there are no walls that you can stack (You can't stack anything unless using a trainer). Path and rolercoaster track are put on to make it more interesting.

Update 25 - New Area Announced

For starters, Amazonia is completely themed and being tested. Bacillus has undergone a new paintjob as well. But enough of Amazonia, the real reason for this update it this.....

    Yuracuy: Venezuelan mountainside village.

If one is curious as to which area (well location in the park) I am speaking off, it houses the wooden coaster "Vigilante," which will be formally announced as an attraction in the next series of updates. The premise for the theme is quite simple actually, its a mountainside village (more attention is paid to the "mountainside" element of this area) that contains quite a bit of poverty. Its not as poor as the city of God or Amazonia, but its got the feeling of a old colorful village that just lives off the land.

One thing about this area I must warn of....it uses colors. Lots of colors. Pinks, yellows, greens, whites, greys, and browns. Lots of textures are used, many different forms of roofing will be used, and the area WILL stand out for a couple of reasons:

    1. It rises above every other area near it, especially City of God, which is in a low elevation for a reason (Phsycologial reasoning and ideological reasoning). It also rises above Andes Village (which is ironic, but neat in a way).
    2. It would look like a rainbow compared to the other areas.

Anyways, that is the premise for this area. Again, I told you all it was up to you whether or not you wanted to see screens of the final three new areas I announced. This is one of them. Enjoy.

I think you've shown enough screens, personally. This sounds interesting, although it'll be hard to gel it together as an area. I'm interesting to see how you pull it off.
  • GigaForce%s's Photo
This area sounds really interesting. Like a mix of Andes Village and Macchu Picchu.

    I like colors.

Oh no, its much uglier than those two
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Don't pull a Kumba. I won't let you live it down if you do.
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
    Pull a Kumba?

    I didn't mispell "Yuracuy"

    ^ Refering to the colors.

    Sounds promising.
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
As for the color rant I went on in my initial post, the area has undergone my 'test architecture' and has started construction. I said there would be 5 different colors, well I threw green out of the mix (It looked ugly). And the roofing variety will actually be EXACTLY the opposite of that, as you all will only see flat roofing. When studying pictures, I noticed that most of the houses were not really tall and elevated, and the village was really cramped onto the side of the mountain. Flat roofing gives it that feel, and that is mostly what you will see in Yuracuy. It really isn't turning out as colorful as I thought it would, but thats not a bad thing at all.
  • GigaForce%s's Photo
Colorful, to me, is like..Mortician's stuff.

Its not your style to be nearly THAT colorful.
