Damn, the Yankees better be glad Schilling sucked ass! In a close game they would have been crushed! -

- Sveum: "War's over men. Moose dropped the big one."
- Martinez: "Over? Did you say 'over?' Nothing is over till we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
- Ortiz: "Germans?
- Ramirez: "Forget it, he's rolling."
- Martinez: "And it ain't over now. Cause when the goin' gets tough...the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's GO!
What the fuck happened to the Sox I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts? 'OOoooh, we're afraid to go with you Pedro, we might get hurt again!' Well kiss my ass from now on! Not me, I'm not gonna take this! Lieber, he's a dead man! ARod, DEAD! Captain Intangibles..."
- Schilling: "DEAD! Pedro's right! Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta beat these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take weeks and cost millions of Red Sox lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really remarkable and shocking gesture be done onto the MFY's asses.
AND WE, the Boston Red Sox, are just the ones to do it!"
- Martinez: "LET'S DO IT!" -

Nice going Schilling, you fucked up.
I was really worried for a while there. But when we made a game out of it, that was good to see. My jaw dropped when V-Tek hit that home run. I thought all was for naught, but there was life yet. And that gave me a good feeling for the rest of the series.
Then I fell asleep. Fuck "prime time".
But anyway, one of two scenarios will go down tonight:
1) Pedro will come out swinging, totally burn the Yankees and hopefully hits one of them in the face.
2) Pedro crashes, burns, and sucks miserably and we're fucked for the rest of the series.
If it's scenario 1, Red Sox Nation will be okay. If it's scenario 2... eh, not so much. -

A Tale of Two Empires
...my thoughts exactly. I was rooting for those guys last year against the Yankees (even after they eliminated my team in 'horrific, heart-breaking, smack yourself on the head and believe it must be a dream' fashion) but somewhere between the A-Rod rumors, the Curt Schilling signing, and the Keith Foulke business (which I believe is the difference between the A's making the playoffs last year and not this year - our bullpen flat-out sucked) I stopped feeling sorry for the Red Sox. It's a shame they couldn't get the job done last year but when you're pillaging other team's stars to add to what is already one of the most stacked lineups in the league, you lose the right to call yourself a legitimate underdog. Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, Astros - they all did it. I guess that's what it takes to win nowadays. I prefer the guys with heart that nobody knows about who go out there and surprise people. I guess that's part of growing up an A's fan. I'm used to seeing the big stars on the way out rather than the other way around. -

Well gee Ed, that's what happens when your owner blows nuts.
