I'm in Portland, and if I am at school or at home I will be able to see it.
My home has a view of all three mountains from the living room.

The third being Mt. Hood I assume?
  • JBruckner%s's Photo
    One of 'em.
    :p

I actually had no idea Mt. Hood was a dormant/extinct volcano until the recent Mt. St. Helens business went down.
I'd be willing to kill people to go to Windells Camp there.

    Whats Windells?
    I'm a Portland nub.

Windells is a summer camp held at Mt. Hood for snowboarding and freestyle skiing. They probably have camps for other types of skiing as well, but only freestyle shit interests me.

One of my friends is going to their snowboarding camp next June, that's how I became interested in it.

Another gas eruption occured today (possibly 2, but I'm not 100% sure). This is almost getting to be like one of those TV shows where they have cliffhangers every night to suck you in.

I guess October is Volcano Sweeps Month or something. I dunno.

Just smite the damn state already! :D

    ^LOL!

Haven't heard any thing from Mt. Saint Helens in awhile. Is there like nothing going on any more or what?

The chances of it blowing like it did the last time a are slim to none. that catastrophic eruption it had a few years ago blew off the entire top of the mountain so their won't be nearly as much pressure as last time building up. It could be big, but not like the last time.

Well, they USGS has downgraded the alert to a level 2 (eruption not so imminent), but there are still steam eruptions and the like going on. Volcanic tremors are still fairly frequent and the geologists think magma is on the rise considering all of the above and the fact that the dome is growing a "blister" as the media put it. It could erupt in a matter of days, weeks, or months, but it's not entirely known. All that is known is that it will happen. Like Andrew said, it won't be as large as in 1980 because it's impossible for the mountain to blow away rock and rubble it has already blown away, but they think it will be pretty big...just not mountain leveling big.
