Wow, who is this "Shilka?" We should get this mysterious prodigy to battle Ed!
Man, this is amazing. I've had basically no time to tamper with the game lately, between school and QftBX, so I feel like I'm really falling behind.
I am just in awe of what you guys have been able to create within just this tiny amount of time. Absolutely incredible.
And Ed, can you tell me how you got those "peep perspective" shots? I can't figure out the camera controls to get that. Amazing video. -

My vision of making a Myst-like park can now be pulled off quite well! Oh the possibilities! -

As far as I know, there is no "peepcam" unfortunately. But you can go to options and set it to 'fly mode' and then approximate a peep view from there. Actually I used flying mode to get most of those shots, like putting the camera inside of towers and over the water and such. The only problem for me is that it ran very slow while capturing the videos so if I tried to do a mouse move (like any kind of pan) it would look jerky and lame. I saw some videos in the official site forums which had full camera movements captured though, which is good cause that means I'll probably be able to do that if I upgrade and that allows for much more interesting moving shots. What impresses me the most is the water reflections and the cloud movement. They look brilliant.
Oh, a Myst style park would be awesome. I already know how I would do Channelwood. Too bad I don't have a computer to play RCT3 on right now, cause that's exactly what I'd do with it. The one click water table is good for something! -

You can do pan shots etc, it may look jerky when you actually do it in game, but the video comes out smooth.

I think the water reflections are amazing! Also, the video capture speed all depends on your comp. My 3.2 GHz 1 Gig Ram Desktop can pan fine
But seriously, from some of the videosa ive seen so far, the video capture function is amazing. Seeing Ed's invert reflected in the water speeding by made me very happy indeed! The cloud shots are incredibly realistic, and i love the night sky shots, looking up at the stars while riding an out and back Woodie is amazing. The fireworks are pretty cool too, great for video ads for a park. I LOVE THIS GAME! -

I was bored today and figured I should build something. And I did.
Now, this coaster isn't of Ed-Quality, but it's pretty decent. I spent about an hour and a half making the coaster and editing the video.
I had fun doing it, and I hope you enjoy the video.
Instructions to View Video
- Visit the following link: http://www.dsarreal.neptune.com
- A new window will pop up.
- Under name, there should be an album called Untitled Album. Click on it.
- Now, you can either just watch the video from there or download it and then watch it. Broadband suggested.
- Enjoy your ride on Falcon!
The video will be on-line for three days. For those too lazy to look, that means it won't be up after midnight on October 20, 2004. Also, I would like to have a permanent host for the video. If anyone is willing to host the video, please PM me. The video is 16.4 MB.
I'll release screens of the coaster later.
Thanks, and enjoy.

The pacing on it was pretty bad to be honest, but i liked the layout itself.
The theming was pretty sparse, but i can understand that, as it had a realistic look to it.
Good job, just work on the pacing. -

Yeah, sorry about that. My computer doesn't even meet the requirements, and when riding coasters, I cannot tell how fast they actually go.The pacing on it was pretty bad to be honest, but i liked the layout itself.

Here was what I was able to get in the 45 min. I know it isn't much but I was only able to get that because I sat there for like 15min trying to think of what to build. I should have some better stuff later. Also, how can I get the lighting better than this? -

I had half an hour on this before, after finally getting it working.
It is tough to get used to.
I can see me being pretty shit at it. -

OK, i'm finally getting the hang of things. I've got a lovely on ride video of this ride, but it's 33.1megs, and i don't want to upload that on a 56k! Any ideas on how to make it smaller with minimal quality loss?

If you have Windows XP, it should come with Windows Movie Maker. Edit the video in that and republish onto a new .WMV file where you can select how big the file is to be. You WILL get noticeable decrease in quality, though, especially if you want to cut something like 33 megs down to, say 3 megs. It's not so bad if you make it down to 6 megs, but either way, it's a long 56K upload.
