Look, there are things that need to be said and I hate it when people brush them off just because they sound serious. Nothing is accomplished if every post is judged by its entertainment value all of the time.

look, Panic, i agree with you. but look at the point that we are now at in NE, where even if you put a serious note whatsoever. the "funny ones" always want to make a joke about it..... you know because its "fucking hilerious". and ofcourse its the internet, what most funny is they were all more or less (the old ones) normal until being an ass became funny and popular.

what do you think i think Iris should do? nothing, but if he feels like he can't make NE any better, shut down this site for a couple of weeks and open up with you NE3. OR you could possibly just start banning people like nuts. and even if they go over to Danimation bashing NE, whats the point of worrying about it? I mean will anyone truly miss what SFKStyle has to spew? or QOTSA, or even Ty? does anyone even care about i have to say on this website? i'm guessing no on all cases.

When I joined here, I remember the Advertising District being full of fabulous parks, and there were only a few shitty topics not made by me. I remember there were about 10% more posts and a load more topics in the Advertising district compared to Basic Chat. Now, the tables have turned. It seems ironic that The Advertising District is still being hailed as the most popular forum at NE, when statistically, it in fact is not. Basic Chat, theoretically is the most popular. This is an RCT site, and in my opinion, the most popular forums should always be the main concern of the site, which is Roller Coaster Tycoon, in this case. There has not been a decrease of Park threads in the Ad District as I can see, just an increase of piles of shit in Basic Chat and other forums. That is why I think action needs to be taken here, because whether you like it or not, statistically, NE is declining. I still enjoy NE loads, and it's the only community I have really got into. That's just my opinion. You don't have to agree.

I think what should happen is when a new topic is going to be made, it should be looked over by one of the mods. That way it will decrease the amount of crap that is started in this site. But it should be not allowed to be posted only if it is complete shit and does nothing for anyone or anything.

PhantomRaider, you can't do something like that. I am simply not patient enough for that, and also Doc's freedom of speech point is a reason against it. Yes, it may be a good idea for some members who spam alot, and wreck the site, but for all members...I see no reason. I mean can you really see JKay or any other sensible member posting stupid topics or replies around here? I say this would be a good idea on less respected members, but you also have to keep in mind that this is placing a heavy duty on moderators also.

As a matter of fact, I, Mr. Anxious Drama-Bomb Squabbling Whiner, actually have a more positive opinion than someone. Which as far as I know is physically impossible.

I don't think the site is declining. I haven't seen much of a drop in quality of parks in the Advertising District and I have never stopped believing that there's acres yet of interest in RCT around here. (Though I would like to see a little more balance towards LL in collabos, parks being advertised, etc.) I think the main problem has nothing to do with RCT, nor a general decline of the site. It's more the result of four or five members spamming up the boards and feeding on each other's uselessness. The spamming basically started when white_frog began posting, since she gave Git, Tyler, sfk etc. food for spam, if you will. Before it was basically they posted once or twice in a topic, it was funny, and they stopped. But white frog eggs them on by posting in return or retort, encouraging more posts by them. That's why so many topics get derailed these days, because instead of a Git or sfk post being a momentary swerve (good or bad) in a topic, now the spamming feeds on itself and totally ruins a topic. You could imagine it as a tumor of the forums.

I don't think a lockout or hiatus of the site is necessary. All I think needs to happen is that white_frog should be asked to quiet down or leave. This would be a rather awkward decision, in terms of "why her?" and such, but I think that white frog is the element around which Git, sfk, Ty feed and once you remove that, I anticipate that they will go back to being less frequent, more careful posters. Because there was no problem when Git, sfk, and Ty were all here before. It was only when white_frog joined that their posting rates became unreasonable.

So cheer up, guys. This isn't going to drag the whole site into the trash heap.

I think one of the reasons for the drop of parks in the Ad District is qftb. I know that I personally haven't had chance to work much on Soul Calibur as I've been focusing on the contest. And in the first round, there were 63 others doing the same. But then again, I could be wrong because there's only 16 left in the competition.

Another reason I've come up with is that maybe people have stopped starting new parks as they don't want any unfinished projects by the time RCT3 comes out due to high expectations etc.
