Kenny Rogers becomes the first pitcher in the majors to win his 11th game as the Rangers beat the Mariners, 9-6. The Rangers lead the AL West by 1 1/2 games. -

the cardinals got swept by the pirates... now that's sad.
But yeah, we're taking the division this year, but I smell some tough competition though. -

Well the Astros lost in 10. Beltran hit two homers. He is a beast, but the Astros can't get a winning streak going. Sosa led off the 10th for the Cubs and he hit a homer on the first pitch. Astros need some relievers IMO. -

HELL YES! The Yankees kicked Red Sox's ass in the 3rd game...13th inning....losing by a point with 2 outs....yet we scored 2 points to take the 4-5 win...thank you very much. We knew the Red Sox sucks....April was just luck for the Sox.....
So yea, we sweeped the whole series.... -

If nothing else, I can take comfort in the fact that I've never said the word "sweeped" in my life. Ever.HELL YES! The Yankees certainly didn't score any points...nor was the series sweeped....but they did get some runs and swept the series
I saw the highlights and all I could think was...I wish they had the game on a regular channel...lots of action including both shortstops making great plays both going into the stands...although Jeter's was more amazing. And then there was the whole Pedro intentionally hitting Sheffield. Great highlights from apparently a great game...
Go Yankees! -

About both shortstops making great plays, I'd like to point out that today's shortstop was (Calvin) Pokey Reese, NOT Nomar Garciaparra. Nomar sucks. We don't like him anymore. -

Gagne...streak....kaputzky...at 84.
Interesting. (I was hoping to get it to 100 for the hell of it.)
Bueno. -

Yeah, I saw that on ESPN. Gagne getting to 100 would have defiantly been cool.
Astros lost. Astros suck. -

I was gonna start a new topic for this, but here will do...how about some ALL-STAR hype?
All-Star Rosters here!
This year I think has been one of the better lineups in recent memory, with both leagues being well-represented without too many glaring snubs. Very interesting to see an outfield full of 500-home run hitters on the NL side (Bonds, Griffey, Sosa). The starting pitchers are rumored to be Clemens (duh) for the National League and either Schilling or Hudson for American League. How does everyone else like our rosters this year? -

Yeah, that's a good point...but he was voted in on the players' ballots, but the little technicality in the MLB rules put a damper on that real quick. Something ought to be done about that.Carlos Beltran got robbed.

Wow, 3 guys from the Cards starting... Though the same can be said about Yankees, but they have 2 pitchers and a reserves guy too. -

Ah Crap, out of all the teams to make Gagne finally blow a save... the DIAMONDBACKS??? That's just pooey.
We won, though. Now, if the Angels could just get back into first place, I'd be really happy.
