Sure. Though it doesn't really matter to me. I'm an A's fan, we don't hate anybody. Except maybe the Yankees but everyone hates them right? When we do lose in the playoffs, it's usually our own fault. Doh. -

Speaking of which, the Yankees op[tioned Contrerras to their single A affiliate...which as of lately is a good thing for us Yankee fans. -

The relief pitchers lose it again. I had a feeling Foulke was going to be the biggest loss for them this year. I'm sure they're enjoying him in Boston. -

Eh...Foulke's been okay, but not stellar.
Speaking of the Red Sox, we actually won a game last night! Yay!
Benefits to Byung-Hyun Kim as a starter: when he screws everything up, we still have 5 or 6 innings to try and right the ship. -

last night was a good night, sox broke their losing streak and the astros played a really good game too, swept the pirates.
anyway, seems to be a fair amount of boston fans on here, is anybody actually from boston, or the neighboring areas? -

Did anyone see how the Mets are charging more for their ticket prices because they are playing the Giants?
I think that stinks... Not to mention the reason they are doing it is because B. Bonds plays for them. But guess what???... they won't pitch to him so why charge the fans more money. How crazy.
Also if that is the case, if your team is in last place or competing for the basement maybe tickets should be FREE... -

I'm indeed a Red Sox fan, but currently live in Maryland. When I was 6.5-9.5 years old, I lived in Plymouth, Mass. Grew up watching Larry and Co. on the parquet, and Boggs, Dewey and Clemens for the Sox. I watched the Patriots, but almost remember the NJ Generals (led by B.C.'s Flutie) of the USFL more. Seems like I watched the Patriots more once we moved here. Oh, and my first recollection of anything to do with football was the infamous Hail Mary against Miami. Who knew I'd have even more reason to despise them later in life (as a Seminole).

Anyway, back to baseball...nice to see the Sox get the split with the Tribe. Maybe Pedro can keep quiet for a while, and just pitch like he did tonite for the rest of the season.
Oh, and the Mets thing (if true)...well that's just bad business..."Hey, let's charge them more to watch 4 walks". To think they don't even have the Piazza HR thing to look forward to, as he got that last nite.

Not to mention Barry missed the first two games of the series entirely with a sinus infection. -

Since when is 6-6 in save opportunities and a 0.53 ERA in 17 innings not stellar?Eh...Foulke's been okay, but not stellar.
He's almost 3-1 on KOs to BB, and allowing about 1 hit for every two innings.
Maybe I'm not as critical, but that's more than I was expecting, premier closer or not.
Go Keith! (and the Sox on a 2 game upswing!) -

Never mind me, I stand corrected. Yay Foulke. -

Does everything have to be about the Dodgers Cork?
No, I'm just kidding. That's just the California sports rivalry in my blood. Of course I could remind you that your Lakers are down 2-0 and the Kings are up 1-0. Or I could mention that San Jose is facing Calgary in the Western Finals of the Stanley Cup playoffs. And the MLB season is just getting started. The A's came back from a much bigger defecit to win the division in 2001. But you know all that already. And I agree, Gagne's save streak is really impressive. -

Fine. How 'bout them Angels? Seven wins in a row, 20-10 (best start since 1970), best record in the majors!!!
Things are good for Southern California baseball fans. Heck, even the Padres are doing relatively well, not that I care. After all, they only San Diego. -

so, how bout pokeys inside the park hr yesterday? followed by that shot over the monster. somebody has been taking batting practice.
another noticable batting change: craig biggio. hes got a new stance, and he jacked two out of the park last night, he may be old but hes still got something to contribute -

Rangers/Tigers anyone? 6-4 game Tigers going into the fifth. Tigers score 8 in the top, Rangers down 14-4 going into the bottom. Bottom fifth, Texas scores 10, ties game at 14 even.
A total of 18 runs in the fifth inning, Texas wins 16-15.
Whoa.
