May as well make a topic for this, it's just too strange. The Mariners beat the A's 2-1 today in the 14th ining, scoring the winning run on a balk! Can you believe that? Even weirder was the A's defensive assignments. Eric Chavez playing leftfield? A five man infield? This was one wierd game. And by weird I mean very very good. You can read all about it here: A's at Mariners - 4/20
Any more weird games can be posted about here. Or anything interesting happening in MLB really. -

That balk was one of the most absurd ways to give away the game...walking with the bases loaded is bad enough, but in the 14th inning...a balk? Silly, silly...
In other bizarre news:
A-Rod went 1-17 against my beloved Red Sox this past weekend at Fenway.
A shocker, but quite pleasing. It won't last (he's MVP caliber afterall), but it is fun to think that the Evil Empire is currently paying all of those millions for a .160 average, 1 HR, 3 RBI and 2 fielding errors.

Indeed.....more weirdness...my dear Red Sox sweep the Yankees in the Bronx. (Up 6-1 of the 7 games so far this season too)

To think that one of my favorite sayings well, rings true (to this point).
Yankees Suck.

Rangers game today was sweet. They had back to back to back homers, from the bottom three in the lineup. And Kevin Mench (Shrek) cam a double away from the cycle. (two singles).
Nice came. And we're in first .
Another funny fact. Yankees SS and 3rd Baseman, who shall remain nameless, are getting a combined 36 million a year, and hitting a combined .210. The Rangers SS and 3rd baseman, are getting 6.5 milllion a year, and hitting .385.
I love baseball. -

WTF? Rangers are first with the Angels? Who'da thunk that?
Yankees couldn't hit a tree if they were Sonny Bono.... yay! -

Boston still sucks and can beat the Yankees all 19 games this year however they will still be in second place behind the best team in baseball (YANKEES) by the end of Sept.
As for weird wasn't their a save in a game the other day in which the score was 19-1 or something? Now that is weird.
Also what is weird is that Pedro and Manny are gay....but then again it isn't really that weird.
Haha Kai....

Listen, I'm all for ribbing between Yanks fans and Sox fans, but that was just weak and stupid. -

i say the redsox are gonna win 15 of the 19 games they play with the yanks this year. theyre gonna have a good season, i feel it, and even if they dont, it doesnt matter because boston fans are the most hardcore fans in all of baseball so you can take your 26 rings and shove em up your ass.
..... i miss daubach -

Other weird happenings...
Texas loses Alex Rodriguez in the offseason to the all-powerful Yankees...
Now, the Yankees are in 3rd in their division, while the Rangers are in 1st in theirs, with their best record in 5 years.
Now, I don't think TX will make the playoffs, and nor do I think they could beat the Yanks in a series... but it is interesting. -

The Red Sox can't very well win all 19 games this year against you, somehow, you have 1 win.
The gay comment was well....irrelevant? This harkens back to more irrelevant comments during last year's ALCS, but you probably don't remember that...
A relevant point would be that Pedro and Manny are outperforming A-Rod and Jeter...but that wouldn't help your cause, now would it?!?
The bottom line is, currently, your team is in 3rd, 3 games under .500, behind the Orioles for 2nd, and well you have more problems than just your pitching staff. True that the offense is likely to kick it up a notch (you'd hope so for the $$$ you're burning on it), but your rotation and pen don't compare and will plague you all year.
Forget the 1000 runs, worry about scoring more runs than you've allowed.
Have fun with the A's Big 3 tonite.
Lucky Mick...and his Empire???
