And your 2004 Heisman Trophy Winner is...
MATT LEINART
If history is on USC's side, it means we'll beat OU in the Orange Bowl. Two years ago, after Carson Palmer won the Heisman over the Iowa St. QB, USC went on to demolish ISU in the Orange Bowl. I hope things turn out the same this year!!!
Tho seriously, it could have been any of the five. I'll bet the final vote was extremely close. -

seriously man, just look at reggie bush getting fifth.
he's one of the most athletic players ever to come out of usc. and that's saying a lot.
he's also got really cool name. -

Cork, there is plenty of other history to pick also that isn't on the Trojans side. For starters, take the Heisman curse where recent winners lose in the NC game with a shoddy performance (Weinke, Crouch, White, Leinart.. opps, it slipped). Or if you want to get specific take the 2000 Orange Bowl where OU played FSU fore the national title. Florida State's Weinke beat out OU's Heuple for the Heisman, but OU as the underdog took home the title. There are plenty of ways to slice it historicaly, what really maters is what happens on game day, and I can't wait.
Its just a shame Leinart won this year, I really just can't see him as the best player in the nation. Hell, Bush is a better player, just doesn't get enough touches. It was impressive to see how evenly White and Peterson split the vote (both at 950ish and within 20 votes of each other), which allowed Leinart to win. Oh well, White already got his and Peterson has a few more years in him. -

I'm glad you said that, because if you hadn't I would have taken the liberty of pointing it out.Oh well, White already got his and Peterson has a few more years in him.
BTW reading through my (short, but sweet) posts in here it seems like I may have a problem with Oklahoma or something. Just want to clarify: I don't. But I do think they are a bit overrated myself. -

How long has it been since I've seen a good game-winning 50-yard touchdown pass as time runs out live.
Nice one Iowa. -

Dude I have a feeling that may be the best bowl of the year. Usually it's one of the last games but I just can't see tommorow's games being that close. I am not even close to a fan of either team but I was out of my chair when Iowa's quarterback made that pass...if only I could remember his name, he's awesome. Part of me felt bad for Nick Saban, but it was his choice to leave. And he better pray for a great draft and offseason, because even though LSU didn't win their bowl game, next year doesn't look anywhere near as successful as this for ol' Saban. -

That was pretty cool, but the Rose Bowl turned out to be pretty fantastic as well!Dude I have a feeling that may be the best bowl of the year. I totally take back what I've said about Texas. Cal didn't get screwed... since they lost in the Holiday Bowl anyway. Texas has a great team, and if you watched the game, Vince Young just set himself up for a Heisman campaign next season. Four TD rushes, and 1 TD pass or handoff (don't remember). This was like watching Michael Vick again, especially seeing how he made so many people miss.
Texas led for much of the game, fell behind in the second half, then comes back on a LAST SECOND FIELD GOAL to win 38-37!!!
Man, this is what I expect at the Orange Bowl (with USC preferably coming back to win ), but what a Rose Bowl! My friend's dad is gonna be mad (Wolverine alum), as Michigan loses its second Rose Bowl in a row, but man, what an incredible game!!! -

Man, Pitt is gettind DESTROYED by Utah. But that's what you get when you give a big fish in a small pond the opportunity to eat a weak little cat. -

So me and some high school friends were supposed to go out for dinner tonight, but one of them couldn't make it. So I reschedule for tomorrow night.
Oh yeah, there's that little USC/OU game tomorrow, which could be the greatest game in college football history.
Yeah... I forgot about it when I said tomorrow night.
Dammit I'm such a fucking retard.
Now I'm gonna have to miss it. At least it'll be taped, but that's just not the same.
I'm a fucking idiot!!!!

That really sucks Corky.
Auburn won. I still think they should have been in the National Championship....but that is just me. -

And I think there should have been the playoff, but that's just me and half the country.
Utah, Auburn, USC, OU.
And if it's an eight team playoff, add Va Tech, Texas, Michigan, and I'd originally say Cal but after recent events, I'd replace them with Louisville. Louisville vs Utah would be one fun game. -

If they'd hit that field goal. If they hadn't dropped that pass. They'd have either tied or won. Either way, they put up a good showing with a nice comeback. Holding Auburn to 16 is pretty good, and Va Tech beat themselves last night with those missed opportunities inside the Auburn 10 yard line. -

35 to 10. USC. And there is still 2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter! Leinart has 4 touchdown passes already. USC is kicking ass. -

^^ You know NC State beat Virginia Tech (w00t) and we didn't even make it to a bowl game. -

At halftime, I'd like to say I told you so about OU, but I also said Cal was as good as USC -

Hahaha, halftime shows don't get much worse. Ashley Simpson gets booed offstage, hilarious.
