Well, Oklahoma St. isn't bad... they're ranked aren't they? Ohio State sucks. Finally fell out. Oregon State... yeah, they suck. -

They almost had it, but then the L'ville punter kicked a low one and David Hesner ran it back 78 yards for a TD.Wow. Louisville was this close to pulling off an awesome upset!!! Darn.
It sounds like an awesome game though, from the reports.
And Ohio State is just too much for Zwick to bring back to the top. -

OH MY GOD THIS GAME MAKES ME WANT TO KILL MYSELF.
(NC State vs Miami)
And Hester can go shoot himself. And the refs are practically giving the game to Miami. -

Man... the undefeated teams show no signs of losing anytime soon... though we haven't had more than two undefeated teams since the BCS was unveiled, we might this year... Miami, Auburn, USC, Oklahoma, and Wisconsin are the five who could claim Orange Bowl credibility IMO, but still.
Also, Washington failed to score tonight for the first time since 1981. Yup... USC's defense rules. -

That and UW stinks this year...well, they've not done very well since 2000-01 (the year they beat Purdue at the Rose Bowl) and 90 or 91 (shared #1 status in the country with Miami, I believe). Oh well, I'll be a husky fan through and through, even when they stink. Also, Washington failed to score tonight for the first time since 1981. Yup... USC's defense rules.
Hey, did anyone catch the ASU game? That was one awesome game. The score kept flip-flopping back and forth through some pretty wacky (some lucky) plays. -

I can respect a true fan who sticks with the team in the good times and the crappy.
That doesn't mean I won't make fun of Washington this season!
I was ecstatic over the ASU game.... UCLA and Notre Dame lose, Trojans win. That's a Perfect Saturday! -

Woohoo! We came out with a win. I'm getting alittle worried after the past two weeks' games though. We're definitely not playing as well as we need to be.
Student section was crazy, can't wait until next year when I start college there. FREE TICKETS! -

The ones that play a really really soft schedule and don't really face any truly good teams (excluding maybe their first game vs Texas A&M)?
Yeah. Go Utes. Won't make it into a major Bowl Game unless another undefeated loses though. -

Sooners rejoice! All is back in order in the world. Miami... hope OU loses. Utah... welcome to a BCS game... you're still overrated.
USC... don't screw up. We'll see everyone in Miami. -

Wow Miami. WTF WERE YOU THINKING. You beat NC State and then you do this. I don't understand. -

YES!!! Another undefeated bites the dust! AND all three major Florida teams lost... first time in like 26 years!
At this rate, top five will be something like:
1. USC
2. Oklahoma
3. Auburn (I'm assuming they won tonight... haven't checked)
4. Wisconsin
5. Utah
Though Utah could possibly flip with the Badgers.
And what about Purdue? Man... talk about pulling a Yankees! They'll prolly drop out of the Top 25 after this week's loss.
Michigan/Michigan St. was a helluva shootout. Crazy awesome and exciting.
And of course... the Trojans keep on marching. Stupid Matt Castle screwing up our shutout streak... it would have been 42-0 if it weren't for him. Heck, if Bush had scored at the end of the first half, it would have been 49-0. This isn't the year for Washington football.
Oh yeah... if Kumba commits suicide... I appoint myself captain of The Hurricanes. And I'm renaming it the Trojans. -

Ah how I loathe Miami, that loss feels oh so sweet. The number of upsets yesterday was crazy, all the Florida teams, Purdue, Texas A&M, Minnesota. All of thoes teams were in games that were so lopsided nobody even bothered to call the possibility of an upset and they lose? I still can't get over A&M loseing to Baylor, I mean come on, Baylor. That takes the match up next week against OU down a notch in interest, but at least it throws Utah's one decent win into doubt. A&M is now likely to finish as a four loss team, and I really don't like Utah making a BCS bowl. Yes, they will finsih undefeated, but the schedule they have played against is nothing short of utter crap. If they want a shot at a BCS game, they need to at minimum up the out of conference scheduling and prove they can play with the big teams. When you spend 2/3 of your season playing in a cream puff conference though it just doesn't send the right message, you can't prove anything that way.
Now of course for what I really want to talk about, the OU game. It is really angering me that the Sooner's most dominant offensive game is being covered up by a few plays on defense and special teams where they shot themselves in the foot. The sportswriters in their infinite stupidity are saying this game proves OU might not be worthy of the national championship, after all, it was a three point spread. But USC is obviously in a leaugue of its own as ESPN would have you believe, clearly far and above. Cork, I am not saying USC doesn't deserve to be where they are, I am just saying they aren't the untouchable team they are getting built into. They have had their share of closer than comfort games earlier this season, including a 3 point game agaisnt Cal at home. Cal is a tougher opponent that OSU, but home vs away in a rivalry game makes the OSU one an equally dangerous game. The reason for the lack of talk about USC is they had their difficult games early, and sportswriters can't seem to remember what happened yesterday... top that off with a desire for anything sensational and controversial and you have a pack of babbling morons incapable of real analysis of where the season is headed.
The OSU game would not have been a game if special teams had not given them 14 points in the first half off of pure misques. The far more concerning thing is that secondary, Stoops better do some serious drilling with them or the A&M game could come out as a dissapointment. That said, the offense was far and away incredible. White put up huge numbers in the first half, and when they needed him Peterson took the second half into his own hands and ran out time as well as two massive runs. That 80 run where he went between the tackles and spun off to take it to the end zone was just beautiful. Watching the game, the moves he pulled were just unreal... if he doesn't get the Heisman this year I will be shocked.
Looking at the national title picture it would seem it is definintly still USC and OU's to lose. With USC's remaining schedule Cork can probably start shopping for Orange Bowl tickets. OU has the A&M game which will be a tricky one because Kyle Field is a harsh place to play, but it is smooth sailing after that. Heres to hoping Georgia takes it to Auburn in two weeks and knocks them off, because Wisconsin doesn't have a prayer of landing a spot in the top two unless USC or OU drops one. -

Yeah yeah yeah... stupid only team with longer Division I-A winning streak than us... though Hawaii SUCKS this year.
Matt, I'm pretty convinced that the reason the sportswriters aren't kissing OU's ass this year is because of last year, when they really blew it. Once we get through these next two games, then the talk will start, although Auburn stands a very serious chance of overtaking OU if they run the gauntlet, having come from a VERY tough SEC conference.
I'm well aware USC isn't perfect. Hell... no team is. Yesterday certainly wasn't perfect... Matt Castle fucked a lot of stuff up. Our shutout of Washington two weeks ago wasn't perfect... we were slow and sluggish. On the other hand, we're a four quarter team, with a great coach who is huge on defense and an amazing offensive coordinator. We're stocked with talent and we rarely get arrogant, if ever.
Of course, so was OU last year and look what happened to them....
Anyway, I'm not one to ever celebrate early. It's not over till it's over... I think Derek Fisher's 0.4 second left shot proved that last year against the Spurs. I always watch to the end of games, just to make sure we won, or if we're losing, hoping desperately that we might mount a miracle.
Oregon St. will be a tough battle. They might be the toughest opponent we've had since Cal, and they're playing good ball. Plus it's away, and that's always tough. Arizona should be a pushover, but then again, Baylor should have been meat for A&M and they lost, so there's precendent there. And finishing off the season will be the Notre Dame game, which is always tough, especially with the rivalry and the fact that the team has talent this year, and of course, the Big One, our UCLA match. The Bruins suck, but they have heart, and some good players. And you know they'd love to knock the #1 team off in the final game of the season (perhaps shades of their own experience with Miami in 1998).
So it's far from over... this is a 12 game season, not an 8 gamer. So I'll keep on hoping.
Don't forget Wisconsin is undefeated too. IF they run the gauntlet, things will REALLY get muddled, because not only will they have a case for playing in the Orange Bowl, they may be undefeated co-champs with Michigan, who can go undefeated in the Big 10 and doesn't play the Badgers this season. So yeah... LOSE DAMMIT!!!!
