OU fans will say it was because of Ashlee that they all left in the third quarter.

If we'd tried, we could have put up 70 against OU.

Maybe we should have played Auburn. Even on zero days rest, they probably would have put up a better fight. I know Jason Campbell would through a ball into quintuple coverage (I called interception as soon as I saw it during the ten minutes of the game I got to watch because we stopped at a friend's house before heading out to dinner). And that fumbled punt return was both the dumbest in game sports move of the century and the play that changed the game.

OU: Overrated University. Well, this isn't how they normally play, but you can't make any excuses in a game like this. I just hope poor Pyro didn't hang himself... I have a lot of heckling to do to him for the upcoming year.

55-19. Geez, it was 55-10, too. Would have stayed that way if we didn't have some mercy and put in our 395th string. So much for the Heisman curse... so much for the match of the ever on paper... we destroyed them. This was worse than what Utah did to Pitt, because at least Pitt hung around for a half, which is more than you could say for the Sooner fans.

I hope Leinart comes back. I'd love to three-Pete. Even if he doesn't, I have faith in Josh-David Booty, especially if Norm Chow sticks around. That guy is awesome. And he's pretty big too if you ever meet him in real life.

Back to back. Wire to wire. USC Trojans #1. Fight on!

Alas, that was a hard game to watch. Just don't go overboard on putting OU down... that was by no means their best performance. Like you said, that god awful stupid what the hell was he thinking attempt at a punt return blew things out of control. OU was doing fine, moving the ball and managed to stop USC once out of two possessions, then we blow it to 14 and the momentum built from there. USC as a team is a momentum team that can kill you with big plays, we saw the momentum swing their way big tonight. You could see the frustration in OU's plays, White trying to win it with every play to get back in the game... and suddenly you have 5 turnovers and are down by god knows how much.

That is not to take anything away from USC, they played a hell of a game and deserve what they got... but the Sooners deserved to be there. Go back and tell Bradley to stay the fuck away from that punt and it is a whole different ballgame (at minimum closer). More than anything I am mad at how they keep collapsing in the big games, the defense looked hopeless once things got out of control and the offense kept shooting itself in the foot. Also, offensive play calling needs to improve if they are going to go anywhere next year. As much fun as it is to run into 3rd and long because you feel the need to run straight at a d-line with absolutly no gaps in it, it would be even more fun to throw the ball down feild more often.

Obviously a disappointing loss, but what can you do about it? Congrats to the Trojans on a great season... and let Leinart move on, you are stacked enough with the squad you have returning. In all honestly actually, his better move is to go pro. Normally I would say I hate the shift twoards leaving early and it would be admirable for him to stay and enjoy another year at college, but as far as his NFL stock goes, this year is better for him. He has the Heisman and NC so nothing is left to go after short of another, and this year is a down year for QB meaning he is on a short lists and will get picked higher.

the ol' U of L will win against Boise State in a close one

Man am I a good predictor...

And so Lousville proves they deserve their #8 ranking, while Cal blows it against a 7-4 (now 8-4) team. Don't get me wrong, Cal is still a great team, they just can't stop a good passing attack.

The bowl season isn't over for me though. I made up this tournament called Bowl Survival Series. It's where the winners of the bowl games play each other for the ultimate prize: being crowned the best team in college football. Sounds interesting? Well, you can bet on the rest of the games when I post the results so far tomorrow.

Note: I'm using NCAA Football 2005 for the tournament games.

Don't pat yourself on the back too much... Louisville was clearly the better team against Boise St. even before the game, IMO, and for me, it was obvious. Heck... if they'd intercepted that pass and beaten Miami, they'd be in the Fiesta Bowl, not Utah. :D

Anyway, I know that was not OU's best showing by a long shot, but there's no excuse for them to play that way. Even if they didn't have all those turnovers, I think we still would have beaten you guys, because we exposed your rather weak secondary and punished over and over again. Take away points off turnovers and I think we still win 24-19. Definitely closer, as you said, but yeah. Go Trojans!

I hope he comes back to three-Pete. Leinart's a guy who really enjoys college, and though he'd go number one pick already, I think another year would be even more awesome. Even without him, we have Josh David Booty, a highly touted red shirt sophomore prospect whom I'm confident Norm Chow (the genius) can mold into another great QB. But I'd rather Leinart return. If he does, there's nothing stopping us from another championship except ourselves. The only way we lose next season is if we take a team too lightly and don't play our game, and let them sneak up on us.

It'd be awesome for Leinart to finish up an amazing college career by winning the Big One at home at the Rose Bowl. And barring injury, I think he's going to have a monster NFL career as well... maybe another Bret Farve in the making.
