RCT Discussion / RCTClub Switchage

Actually I'm at the point I would want to counter almost every negative post here (especially iris's one). However I don't get all this commotion. The only thing that was said is that RCTI and RCTU were merged. Big deal. I was someone that wasn't informed of this before(be it that I wasn't online much at that moment). When I first heard this I was in doubt, but then think about it: I'm still working with the same people and I'm happy to start a park with the other former RCTU members. So again Big Deal.
But to discuss one point: RCTI repetitive?!??!?

Anyways I think this topic should be closed because it's going nowhere. The news is: RCTI and RCTU have merged, no big deal. I mean com'n, even Moonspoon is talking sense! B)

To be perfectly honest, this is what i think...

Iris - you are taking it too seriously. I respect your opinion, and i even agree with you on this one, but you could have worded it a little nicer...

Tyrandor (and others) - You've hit the nail on the head. This won't change much, i get to work with the same people i did before, however, i'm also excited about working with some of the people in RCTI that i have made friends with - Metropole and Titan being just two of them.

Maybe RCT Clubs are taken too seriously, but hey, they are fun!

What's the big deal? Some people in this thread need an attitude check, and I'll give you one guess as to who those people are. There were obviously going to be negative or indifferent opinions about the merge, that should have been expected. The way they were handled was ridiculous and competely uncalled for. iris said he was disinterested with the idea, and his opinion was met with defensive and sarcastic remarks. I wouldn't call that "disagreeing" with what iris said, that's more like being a genuine asshole.

There wouldn't BE any controversy if people would take criticism and disagreement without getting their panties in a bunch. That's the entire problem, right there. It's one thing to defend yourself, and something entirely different to be agressive toward anyone who disagrees with you.

Indeed, and not only RCTF members. I still think this is highly exaggerated.
There is some stuff I really don't get. Why would we be a superclub by merging and getting more members? For the record RCTmasters has 22 active members and that's about the same we have now. Also something else bugged me. Someone said he joined RCTU and not RCTfusion. Why would that be a problem, you're still working with the same people! I would seize this opportunity to combine the members even better since there's a wider variety. I joined RCTI for there style and I know that that style is still findable in RCTF. There are few changes, but the new name and additional member line-up. I'd like to see this like a member change in a club like what always happens with new members and retired one. The only difference is that it's a bigger change.

And please drop this topic know, because I'd rather spend my time playing rct and having fun with it.

Ok, sorry, I was going to sit back and keep my mouth shut on this but the sheer amount of stupidity has raised to a level where I just can't help myself. *Kicks horse lying on ground*

    1) Any comparisons to being just like RCTM just need to stop. I mean, forreal...who are you trying to kid here. You've taken a group with "a few good men" who are indeed active, and a group of great players who are about as active as Rosie O' Donnel's feminine side. It's like USA's Nightmare team. Consider NE the security issue and RCTM "personal reasons"...all you're left with is a bitching 'Melo and a Lackluster Lebron. I'm sorry I'm not one of you're 20-some fanboys.

    2) RCTI will NOT be RCTU's Viagra. Don't expect things to change. And for the record I do believe it was moonspoon who started the "super group" theory. ;)X Calling AP one of the best in the club leader buisness = hilariously funny. That one made me laugh. Hard.

My advice is to trim down the amount of members to 10-14. Make people re-apply if need be. 20 some is going to be way too much for you. Gymkid, you know I think you're awesome, but this is a bad move in my eyes. No offense shot toward you my friend.

Okay, so. Here's what I am thinking.

The whole deal with these clubs, right, they seem to me to be mostly all about the group parks.

So I was thinking. People should make group parks, with people they want to. Like, shoot an email saying, "Hey man, I like your style, let's make a group park." And then that person will be all like, "Yeah, cool, I'll get ____ involved too." Yeah, that would work. And it wouldn't even involve RCT politics.

Yeah, I like my theory. I should play this game or something.

flame, this is, to my knowledge, the only thing said about RCTM in the whole thread by RCTF members...

We're just saying that a large number of members is not neccisarily a problem. RCTM does it, and we plan to do it too. No more, no less...that's what was said.

DF, don't even bother posting bud. They're not worth it.

I love how you act as if you've been completely mature about this entire thing the whole time.

    Seriously, it made me laugh.

Why don't rctf members spend their efforts on making a park to blow everyone away like we are capable of, and everyone else not pass judgement on a club that has yet to release a park? Thanks for your predictions, but at the end of the day us members will determine the future of the club. I just hope iris isn't ill-guided enough to have an opinion of our parks before he sees them.

Well, as I am without internet at home until my neighbors get back on Thursday, I just found out about all of this a few moments ago.

Am I surprised? Yes and no. Yes, because RCTI and RCTU were two strong clubs that could easily survive on their own. No, because I knew that AP had reservations about nine or so months ago regarding how he'd handle RCTI and college, and with RCTU's recent inactivity and Gym also starting college, it makes sense that they share the load of management.

I'm not going to get involved at all regarding whether they are better or worse-off than before, as only time will tell, and actually being in the club is where that question really matters and will be answered. Also, while there have been various comparisons and compliments involving RCTM, I do thank you, but will also refrain from judgement on that as I always have. Gym and AP knew what they were doing with their own clubs before, and I'm sure they'll do their best together as they can while juggling college.

Best wishes, and I look forward to some more club parks from you guys!

    Kai :huey:

Freak, seriously. You keep quoting people from 2 pages back to keep a now dead argument going. If you want to discuss this with me, you can catch me on AIM. Otherwise, drop it.

The comedic value of this thread is priceless.

Sorry if my response is a little delayed, but being a member of RCTF now, I felt it was nessecary to post my thoughts.

I must say that I think this club merger announcement should've been swept under the rug a bit more because I knew it would only create controversy here. The NE community thrives off opinion, competition and controversy, so I'm not sure why everyone on NE had to know what was going on with RCTF, but I guess AP and Gym just wanted everyone to be on the same page with club status. I can't agree more with what you said moonspoon, your comments always bring things back into perspective for me; supertrooper, same with your comment. And iris, although I can't agree with everything you said, I do think you have the right to give your opinion about anything that is announced within your forums. And as someone else mentioned, it seems that you don't hold anything back when you've got something to say here, which is a good quality to have being the owner of such a monstorous website.

I'm not trying to kiss anyone's ass here. I like being a member of a prominent RCT club. But solo-work is the REAL reason I play RCT; it just gives me the most satisfaction and I believe NE is the better, more rewarding way to share my creations within a community. The only reason my parkmaking has improved is because of the brutal honesty and criticism that constantly comes from NE members. Therefore, I prefer to be more involved with whats going on at NE than club stuff. QFTBX and H2H are some of the best contests ever designed that are not really "club" contests being they still allow a solo effort of the parkmaker. The Spotlight and Runner-up features always give parkmakers something to shoot for on the solo level too. I don't find it very rewarding to do a section in a club park that won't be released for weeks, perhaps months. I joined RCTI to work on club parks as a sort of 'side' project to my solo stuff, which may not make me the best member of the club, but I dont think there is anyone who cares about club parks more than solo parks. Eitherway, I'm willing to ride out the rocky start to RCTF. Reading this thread has put a lot of second thoughts in my mind, but I think AP is an excellent leader and GKD also seems to be on top of things, so I am excited to see what happens after things calm down. So, I'm glad I got this off my chest and now excuse me while I go bury my head for posting my honest feelings.
