Make an area centered around being trippy. Crazy colors, uneven floors, mind bogglingly weird shit that's only entertaining if your extremely stoned. A satirical area based on getting high. Twixt be funny.

Of course, he did make like 70% of Legends in one night while high.... :D

I haven't sifted through the second, third, and fourth pages yet, but I thought I'd go ahead and post up my idea and hope no one before me has mentioned anything like this.

I've had this vision for an RCT park since the golden days but I don't have anywhere near the talent to pull it off, so I'm going to pass it on. I've always wanted to see a Venice them during the Renaissance period, with all the waterways, bridges, covered alleyways, and Venetian architecture during Michaelangelo's time. I'm pretty sure it hasn't been done, at least not very well. I'd also like to see a Russian theme like someone else mentioned, as there aren't too many snow themed areas that hold your attention very long.

As for the testers go, you know I'm always available to look at something if you need a little creativity. I helped some on RoB, and anytime you're stumped for ideas just chime in. Like I said I haven't explored the last 3 pages of this topics so I don't know anything about the pictures on those pages, but as for the first three you posted: I'd say the path layout works good, though I'm not sure about such an overpowering coaster in the entrance area. I hope it doesn't take away from anything too much. I trust your judgement though, SA.

This park should turn out to be pretty nice. Hope it all goes according to plan, and I'll stay on the lookout for updates.

Outlaw, that's the exact kind of reply I was looking for, and I appreciate that you commented on the screens. Your venice idea might actually replace the hybrid theme. In the SAKM park, I was working on a venice theme, but that was so limited by RCT 1, that I think I could do it in RCT 2.

The overpowering coaster in the entry section, think about SFGAm, you come in and you see the big arrow looper (Is it Shockwave?) looming over the entryway, and it's a powerful image. I don't believe in "hiding" rollercoasters in a theme park. Part of the very experience is to look at that towering mass of lumber and say "wow, I'm glad I just payed 90 dollars to walk through that gate." I always try to put rides over/next to/visible from paths. If you look at my parks from the past, you will see that every major attraction has some sort of interaction with the pathways, and yet much of the ride remains hidden. I think it looks fine.

Beta testers... I haven't decided yet. I need to comb back through all of the replys and frankly, I'm too tired right now. I haven't worked on the park a single bit since I posted this topic, because everything has been hectic with school starting this week and the nasty break up situation. I plan to get to work on it during the daytime tomorrow (Friday,) and I hopefully can pick the beta testers and get the first beta out to them tomorrow night or saturday. Um, I forgot to ask all of your email addresses.. so, uh.... well, after I post who I need, I will get them. We don't need an additional 60 posts here with nothing but email addresses.

    Peace!

p.s. outlaw, people have doubted me before. have i ever let you guys down?

Exactly. That's why I said I trusted your judgement, SA.

Ive only heard from 3 of the beta testers, Titan, Phatage, and Posix.

I am having trouble with the greek theme and I am thinking of ditching the pompeii theme. Does anyone know of custom scenery that would make a greek temple easier to make? Any alternate themes?

Anyways, I still think my "run down, dark shadowy, man I'm glad I don't live there" slums theme sounds pretty good. Tore and tattered buildings with foliage scattered across the buildings.

Oh it's been done... except M.A.S.K. never got released. :D And of cousre, ironically, it was SA's section. And it was amazing. Of course, with RCT 2, I think Chris could do it even better... ;)

greek themes aren't that hard to do.
toons baseblocks fit in great. then u make some blue windows and doors.moreover the landscaping is very important to get a greek theme looking realistic. i mean a small greek village at a small hill looks quite good in rct2 and there are no big problems.
if u want to build up a big greek temple u should make it half ruins. thats the first thing which brings in lots of atmosphere. then the colours are important again. in greece the use up some very special colours.
maybe the spanish roofs fit in for u aswell.
that's al i can thing of for a greek theme atm.
moreover i got lots of inspiratiosn by lokoing at some photos of greek cities.

There's no way to do the temples.

Thanks, Panoramical, for the hosting, that's really cool of you.

What you see here is an early test for a venice theme. I told you guys I was going to keep everything open with the park, and this is some of the first architectural work that I have done, that I am pleased with. I think it looks good, and for those of you who are going to bash the fences on the roof, I have one thing to say:

It looks good. Pretend they are there for the pelicans and seagulls to land on. Pretend something, that's what this game is about, imagination. Let your imagination do the work, instead of bitching about fences on a building. I've won 4 spotlights now and I think I am a competent parkmaker.

Anyways, it's a very early screen and I know it's not finished, but I like it, and I wanted it to be available for viewing by those who are most interested.

    Thanks!

I was going to say i didnt like the red used with the aqua, but my browser crashed so i didnt..

The only thing in that i dont like are those fences on top of the buildings, not he 1s around the red spanish rooves, the 1s on the flat rooves. They look ugly IMO, but then ive never liked them in any park so i guess its 1 of those things that bugs me. I think the aqua still looks a little odd, but its much better than before.
