Hm...Prissy Russian bitch-fest-lover with no boobs and borderline anorexic, or the girl who went out there and did her gymnastics and won. Tough choice... -

Very true. It cannot be any worse than what we are putting out there though. Wait. Maybe it can. I would like to see the top NBA talent out there again, but I do not see it happening....with the problem being that our college class is nowhere NEAR the international game anymore. Emeka Okafor isn't getting much playing time because when he does, he's getting torn up by the international players. They have their few NBA stars along with no-namers to us that are really big names in their respective countries. We just need to find a way to set up a national team a little more than 10 days before go time...

Well, seeing as how I've followed gymnastics closely ever since I started men's gymnastics (1996) and have still followed it closely after quitting, I would hardly call myself biased.Of course, you're not biased at all...
I've seen Khorkina enough times to know that she is definitly good...but she is overconfient to the point where she comes off as a straight up bitch. Carly Patterson simply stated after losing to Khorkina (who was very rude to Carly) "I'll do my gymanstics and she'll do hers". Biased? No, but I can callabitch when I seeabitch.
I think a double gold should be awarded in the Hamm situation. Gymnastics is such a judgemental (haha hurrah for puns) that if they're going to go back and review the parallel bars, hell, they might as well go through and re-evalutate every damn score on every event to see who the "real" winner is. I think to award him the gold and then take it back would be harsh. I mean...everyone's acting like it's his fault, like he had a hand in it, and now everyone's bitching because he wont give a gold back someone gave to him. Let's not play Indian Giver now (ouch, that one pry burns). -

Anyone see what NBC just showed about the Paul Hamm/Korean guy controversy?
The Korean guy did 4 holds and that's a 2 tenth deduction. He should have gotten a tenth lower on his score. -

well since you seem to be up on this whole judging stuff...why is it all the same score? -

What they should do, right, is judge it like they do snowboarding comps and freestyle skiing comps and other such sensible sports, and judge the run based on how good it was. Not some stupid list. Just, a good run gets a good score. A bad run gets a bad score. This is why the X Games and the US Open and the other big snowboarding comps don't have "controversy." That, and snowboarders don't give a shit. -

I think they might pull a Salt Lake City on us, give the Korean Guy a gold too, and let the American keep his aswell. like the Canadians and Russians, despite the Russians clearly screwing it up in that one.
atleast that's what i think.
I can't believe Iraq is in the medal rounds, and can get into the gold medal round. oh that'd be so sweet. -

Did you see the croatian handball goal? It was fucking cool, almost so cool it was ugly. or just the opposite. It was so fucking ugly it was cool. Anyway, we in sweden is very proud of our three goldmedals and two bronzes. all goldmedals in athletics. that haven't happened since like 1920 or something. how about you americans, how many golds do you have now? last time i looked you was on the top of the medal list with 26 golds...

I didn't think it was "re-evaluation", just using the right numbers as defined by the rules. It's the starting value (factual), not the actual scores (subjective) that they got wrong.I think a double gold should be awarded in the Hamm situation. Oh well, I think that Hamm should keep his gold, but I think that the Korean should be awarded one too, seeing as he won. I thought the High Bar judging was a bit off too (although not to the same extent as the crowd seemed to think). Nemov should have got a medal.
Hooray for Kelly Holmes! I've been watching her for so long and it's wonderful to see her finally win the gold she's deserved. w00t!
And I have to say dwarf-like pixies prancing around in lycra and contorting their limbs to cheesy clown-like music isn't my idea of marriage-worthy specimens. Divers, on the other hand...
