WOHOO.. i gotta say that was the best opening cermoney i've ever seen (note ever) better then Atlanta and Sydney i thought.
Go Saudi Arabia,Iran ! the only two Muslim countries who have a chance to get a medal
(Saudi Arabia in that horse jumping over the polls thing)
and Iran (supposedly in Judo or was it Tae-Kwan-Do?) i just wish the Iranian player dosent back out like a pussy, just because his first match is against the Israel player.
I can't wait, Go Iraq as well, for beating Portugal 4-2 in soccer, maybe and i hope a dream team, or a miracle for them to get a medal.
sorry, i'm just really excited to see them all play. i got Arab satellite so i can see all the games for the Arabs, and Muslim nations. i already know USA and other powerhouses are going to get medals, but i want to see the under-dogs and a lot of them are.

I can safely say I don't care at all about the Olympics. They just don't have sports that interest me in the slightest, except basketball and even that really doesn't thrill me. At least the Winter Olympics have snowboarding and skiing. I know it's a big traditional thing and everything and its a nice show of international unity or whatever, but it completely bores me. -

Basketball is the only thing I watch. Swimming is ok, but really nothing else interests me. -

Oooh! I heard Björk played at the opening of the Olympics, but I missed it.
I'm looking forward to the tennis events. -

I actaully like the Olympics. It does help that they are only every four years though. Seeing not so popular sports such as ping pong, javelin, etc every four years is very entertaining and enjoyable. Especially looking ofrward ot doubles ping pong. hell yeah. -

I've read elsewhere that Bjork's performance sucked?
I was really impressed with the "new" stadium. It's amazing what two sleek arching covers can do to a 22-year-old stadium. Santiago Calatrava (the architect) did an incredible job with it. I can't wait to see what Beijing comes up with though, as I've seen some interesting concepts for their Olympic projects floating around the net.
Here is a really, really big (1700x1111, 5.4 mb!) picture of the Athens Olympic Sports Complex. -

you gotta remember though, that the main stadium looks like a normal size one in the photo, it is much bigger. just think how big the other ones are. not to mention the fireworks made it look so much better, the best firework show i've EVER seen, even better then the Mellinium world-wide fireworks, even though i wasn't at either of them. -

awesome opening ceremony, if yet a bit too long maybe.
and as always, i thought björk was brilliant. i love her.
it doesn't surprise me that the olympics aren't interesting for americans.
since this morning i'm a fan of kosuke kitajima. -

It downloaded to my computer as a BMP file, for whatever reason.surely, you mean 796.16 KB.
And that stadium is by no means a small one. It seats around 75,000, but even still it is small compared to the planned 100,000 seat Beijing Olympic Stadium or the 110,000 Stadium Australia in Sydney. -

I love watching The Olympics, because I get to see some really cool shit that you don't get to watch very often... like Team Handball. -

did they? i just heard they were hearing conflicting reports. honostly, keep the politics out, its a sport and a game, besides me an Arab, i don't CARE who wins, i just wanna see. if he does fight the Israeli, that one is gonna be quite a sight. -
MudBlood Offline
Yeah I know...
If he will fight Israel he will surely win.
He has a good chance to get at least a silver...
