My idea matches your last option Phatage....and i think i will go ahead with it.
I now need to know from you all what path types you would like included in the set. I currently have: Colourable Tarmac, Colourable Dirt and Colourable Crazy Paving. Any others? -

why made a fake path if:
1.- it´s taking away the limit of choosen objects?
2.- if no one opens ther park for public?
3.- if we made some path by your own so you can select it in the "path-section"?
i don´t see the goal for using fake paths -

Some advantages:
-You can build them in increments of 1/2 a unit.
-Colorable
-Have them extend to the edge of their block -

I've actually been working on something, but if you're doing it thats great. Just don't make it glitchy.
Just listen to richie, he knows what he's talking about. With fake paths, we don't even need any real paths other then the invisible ones. That way we don't have to worry about matching things up, and we can make the parks peep friendly. -

To solve glitchiness, place an invisable path over the fake one. Theres one out there, it came with the UCES. This is looking great tom, good work! -

The only problem with Phatage's idea is that for the edges of the entire walkway, there's a bit of a gap because regular path doesn't extend all the way across the square. It helps separate the path from the buildings at the edge of the walkway. The path and the buildings never actually meet. If you had fake paths covering the entire square, they would just kind of roll into the buildings and it could look awkward.
I was actually thinking of the exact same thing that Louis said yesterday. Is it possible to zero clearances and place one path over another? If so, having the fake paths that act as real paths do (that don't extend across the edge of the square unless one's next to them) could work. The only problem with this would be that for, say, a four-square-wide walkway, you'd actually have five squares of path, and in parks that are like 190x190 or 200x200 and pushing the scenery limit, it could be the straw that broke the camel's back.
I still like the idea of fake paths that act as real ones do, because of the edge-of-the-walkway problem. But whatever you come up with, Tom, I will be extremely grateful for. -

Well i've got the tarmac path working pretty much perfectly. So for each path type there would be 1 real path (covering the whole tile) , 1 fake tile (also covering the whole tile) and 1 fake siding path. I should also be adding 1 corner fake path tile as well.
Heres a screen of the same area taken twice: one as normal and one only showing the real path.Attached Files

Any type of brick path. I think this project is a great idea. Nice job on the fake paths tom.My idea matches your last option Phatage....and i think i will go ahead with it.

:!!:Actually, if you make paths that go to the very edges of the tile, you don't need fake path objects to make it peep-friendly.
If you build the peep-friendly, narrow path, then put fences on each side, then build the rest of the path (that's just for decoration) and then delete the fences, it will work.
Because the path goes to the very edges of the tile, the space between the peep-friendly and decorative paths will not be visible!
So this way you don't need the extra objects!
I hope all that made sense, lol. -

^Makes sense to me, i must admit i always do that with the concrete slab paving that takes up the whole square. I put huge fences around the path, put pathing around the walls and delete the walls leaving an invisible path to somewhere. I have had to do that with my latest park. So, Xophe does it the same way i do- i think, use tall walls so they are easier to delete though.

/\ That's what I was thinking, using the concrete full-tile path.
And I also use tall walls, I use the tall glass walls so you can see through them and they're easy to delete. -

First of all i apoligise for the lack of updates ...i was on holiday for 2 weeks and didn't get round to letting people here know beforehand...but i am back now so i can get back to the objects.
Xophe idea is a very nice one ... as it will actually cut down on the object count/limit.
So to everyone: shall i just release full extended tile real paths? -

i once told toon about an idea of mine that was quite similar to this... like, over a year ago. -
Junya Boy Offline
im actually making more full tile paths.
similar to the full tile concrete path i made.
but more so with a design.
They have borders on the edges.
they'll be in assorted colors.
i could get a screen up when i finish some.
