Round 2 Of East Bracket:
1.mantis
8.Alec
5.Twisted
4.Mortician
All top seeds advanced in this bracket, congratulations to the four of you. Two very promising match-ups...two of the most creative parkmakers in mantis and Alec, and possibly the most even match-up possible with Twisted vs. Mort. Can't wait to see who advances! -

There were so nice entrys but I enjoyed Mantis's the most. Alec's was good but I thought it was missing stuff -
John Offline
Mantis' was very nice, great layout and theme execution.
The title was fitting, and intriguing, too. -

I only really liked Mort's and Caddie's. Mantis's and Alec's were ok but those and the rest all seemed bland and felt like they were missing things.
What was up with Themeparkmaster's?, that was like just a small coaster or somthing and was no real challange. -
Toon Offline
Mantis has my vote, but Alec could have made it a really difficult decision if not for the couple of unfinished bits left behind. -
Metropole Offline
The 2 entries i enjoyed the most were actually up against eachother. Twisted's amazing pixel juice (my favourite entry by a small margin) and the excellently exectuted hangliding coaster. That really was a great matchup.

I voted for mantis, fantastic coaster and a cool name, but Twisted's and Alec's flyers were cool too.
By the way, doesn't the gorilla entertainer named "Mort" in Mortician's entry break the rule "do not have your name or hints in there anywhere about who may have made the park."? -

I voted for Alec's. It's a shame he couldn't go against a nice entry, I would love to see how that turned out. TPM just looked like he was trying to get something in. :\ -
sircursealot Offline
mantis wins this easily for me. Not only was it "complete" but he tried a new theme and kicked ass at it. Twisted would be my second choice. -
Themeparkmaster Offline
You think?TPM just looked like he was trying to get something in. :\
I thought 'APPOLOgies' would have been enough of a hint. I'm just as annoyed as everyone else that I couldn't put in a decent entry but I just didn't have time. At least I bothered sending something in. Anyway, I liked Mantis' best this round, I loved the canyon it was built in, looks alot like it was inspired by Nemesis. It's the only coaster in RCT I have seen that captures the canyon feeling that Nemesis has.
How come there were 8 judges for mine and Alecs match up and 7 for the rest? -

Because the 8 vs. 9 match-up is always the toughest. How come there were 8 judges for mine and Alecs match up and 7 for the rest?
Oh, and since CGM's entry wasn't on the poll, I voted for Alec because I loved that fly by near the lift hill. -
Metropole Offline
I think he means that since the seeds are so close together, the matchup would generally be harder to decide. Thus the extra judge would make the overall result more accurate.......maybe?What does 8 v. 9 have to do with the number of judges?
I personally think that may be an error. Who knows.

In order of preference:
Pixel Juice - wow, amazing ride, Twisted. I would have voted for this if it hadn't been for my own entry! The colours were spot-on, and I really liked all the nifty tricks with the scenery. The layout was good, except for the inline-into-half-loop, because I always think a flyer is a license to use raven turns etc, so an inversion like that just looks less impressive. Anyway, awesome entry, even better name
Serenity - nice to see an entry with focus on architecture, especially when it's of this quality. The little theming touches like the tunnel and ride sign made this quite quirky. The ride was the best of the lot, I think, because it had interesting inversions and was exciting throughout. But don't give yourself away in future entries, or Iris might cotton-on!
Nadialane Forest Hangliding - great entry, Freak, I really liked that invisible first drop and the booster bit into the half loop (like a running leap lol). Didn't like the treeing much, mainly because the fluffy green ones were kind of uniform throughout. I thought clumps of greenery would have worked better. It's a shame this lost out, but I agree with the majority of the judges and put Pixel Juice ahead of this one. But the closeness of the match-up reflects the closeness of the quality. Those lookout towers look familiar, though...
Flying Dinosaur - nice lift hill/loop combination, and I thought the ribs kicked ass, but it was really, really sloppy. Looking forward to next round, dude.
Flying In A Blue Dream - well I think this would have looked miles better if you hadn't gone crazy with the land texture tool, but apart from that it was pretty nice. It did hurt my eyes, though. It's cool to see you experimenting with the groovy sculpture stuff, though - keep up with that because it's fun to look at.
Walking On My Brain - wow I think I now own the record for the park with the most spin-off named parks lol. Well, the double track thing ROCKED (might be using that one in the future), but apart from that it was messy. Very messy. Maybe that was the idea. You've got the spark, though.
APPOLOgies - what happened dude well, props on entering (good ploy).
I tried to make mine an active park - people would have to explore to see all of it. Hopefully people aren't too scared to rotate every now and then. It was fun doing the inverse of normal landscaping - building downwards rather than upwards - and also playing about with the track scenery. The best thing to come out of that experience was making those poles at one height mark above ground - I thought they looked pretty cool and they weren't that hard to do. John is one mechanic because he likes The Faint too. I hope people like it, because I had fun making it.
Great job on a complete bracket, guys. I'm looking forward to more of that in the future
PS oh and did anyone else like my half-sunken half loop ribs? They took fucking ages. -

Why sink them? just build it underground then zero the clerance and lower itPS oh and did anyone else like my half-sunken half loop ribs? They took fucking ages.

So um, I disagreed with the judges on two counts. I actually liked CGM's slightly better than Mort's, despite Caddie's lack of anything coherant in there. It was just vibrant and a lot of fun to look at and had lots of cool little hacks on the ride, whereas Mort's was kind of slightly above run of the mill LL to me. Also, I liked RCTFreak's hanglider better than Twisted's entry. I think it's mostly because of the theme and how well executed it was. I like that sort of thing. Though, freak, it took me a few minutes to find the station...I almost wrote it off as a non-functioning coaster for a minute there. Pixel Juice just wasn't as cool to me, though it had by far the coolest name out of all the entries. But take all my opinions with a grain of salt, because I'm shallow and I often don't catch the nifty little details that some designers throw in there. I often end up lost when it comes to LL. -

Thanks Mantis, don't worry, little slight mistake with the gorilla there. Sorry, it's cool, atleast I know now. -

That's what I did. But they're still sunken, aren't they, seeing as they're underground...I was using its normal meaning, not the RCT meaning. They still took a while, especially the assorted bones. Why sink them? just build it underground then zero the clerance and lower it

Mantis, fantastic job! I loved it.
The landscaping was perfect and the layout kicked ass. Can't wait for more entries.
