Depends what you like. I've always been a Half-Life guy myself. Better story. Of course I won't be able to play either, so it doesn't really matter. -

Doom 3. HL2 didn't look to good from the gameplay PoV...
And Drew, they'll both be on the box... -

HL2 by far. HL2 has the superrior graphics and graphics engine. The only thing that Doom 3 has that makes it look as good is the lightinng is Doom 3. So if you have a good machine... go for HL2 better overall game.

There is no way Half-Life 2's graphics are better then Doom3's graphics. -

Yeah. And Doom3 definetly has that. I mean come on. Kick ass story, the elements are great. Monsters rip through the wall even. It's amazing. I watched this one show about it and cherubs (The baby face monster) can fuck with your mind and whisper and cry during the game. -

Did you possibly pick the worst HL2 SS's ever?
lets do this around with Awsome HL2 screens and crappy Doom 3 screens.

Ok so now that some decent HL2 pics are posted I think we can say that HL2 has the superiour graphics. And by no means are these the best HL2 screens out there. I just picked a couple from a website I had saved.

Yeah okay. You found screens taken from low res trailers. I have seen them before. Let's just end it. Both game's graphics are great. -

I like the look of Half-Life 2 better. Doom 3 looks cleaner, but it also looks more plastic. And on top of that, it's all corridors. Half-Life 2 has whole cities, wide open spaces. The graphics probably are inferior from a technological standpoint but they make up in level design everything they lack in texture detail (and then some). Doom 3 sure looks slick but it doesn't offer anything new gameplay-wise. Deathmatch? I'd play Unreal Tournament if I wanted deathmatch. You're just carnage junkies. All id software has ever had is graphics. Half-Life 2 is gonna blow Doom 3 out of the water.
PS - I'm not biased at all. -

Really? I didn't know for sure if it was, and I was too lazy to look it up.Doom 3. HL2 didn't look to good from the gameplay PoV...
And Drew, they'll both be on the box...
Hmm... I'll have to rent them when they come out. -

I've grown up on Half-Life, haven't touched Doom. Obviously, I'd go with Half-Life - the physics in it are frighteningly realistic, along with the new environments, textures, lighting, etc. I also look forward to CS2. -

Doom on the Sega Genesis used to freak the shit out of me. And I've never heard of the other one. So Doom. Yeah. That one.
I don't play many video games, can you tell?
