I was experimenting with a new wall texture that would be an alternative for the Atlantis Ruins wall texture. I eventually came up with a wall that could go in a Aztec theme. So i then experimented with some new plants and things....now i have a few objects for what could be a new Aztec Jungle theme which would be my first theme in quite a while (last was Atlantis which was the end of last year) and also these objects were probably the first to be made completly by scratch in Paint without ANY use of RCT2 objects at all.
Anyways to an in game preview:

I would suggest using rct objects as a base, because those don't fit into the game at all. It's the one problem with most of your objects, and something I think only Toon, fisherman and Junya have really conquered. -

you are entitled to your opinion etc but i'd like to point some things out...I would suggest using rct objects as a base, because those don't fit into the game at all. It's the one problem with most of your objects, and something I think only Toon, fisherman and Junya have really conquered.
you say most of my objects don't fit in the game? - i wouldn't mind knowing what exactly. My Plain Roof Pack, Plain Spire Pack and both Glass Packs have all used RCT2 objects as a base/concept - so i can't see how they would not fit into RCT2.
These particular objects... i've used the correct RCT2 pallete, correct shading/shadows and my own year+ experience to make the objects. This pretty much applies to all my current work .. my older objects may not quite be the same. I really can't see what you are on about when you say they don't fit in. If you could explain further that would be helpful.
Toon, Fisherman etc do make great objects - but really they do have the advantage... with more sophisticated tools and the fact they are older and more experienced in that area. (me ..i'm only 15 with no previous graphics experience) -

I think it would be best if you could lay these out, on a plain gras landscape, not joined. I cant work out whats walls/rooves, or are they all walls? If they are, some seem at different angles to the rest.
Ah, i just noticed the walls at the back, they are on a different land type and its hard to see them. They look almost like you have underground view on ur scenery only. -

Ah i see now. The flat tiles look very.. flat. It looks like the beams only go across one way in the first pic. The trees seem to create optical illusions for me, i cant focus on one thing in it. Sorry, i dont mean to bash, they just dont seem to feel like rct objects. I couldnt do better.. i dont want you to stop making objects or anything. I have used your objects in the past, the atlantis packs were cool. -

Heres a 1st design for a new roof type.
For any objects you feel need improving please be more percific in your comments "it needs work" or "it doesn't fit with RCT2" isn't enough for me really. -

You asked...
I'll just start with the last pic.
Walls....
The rock texture on the bigger part of the building looks good, but perhaps needs a little more contrast between the two views. The stone blocks texture on the smaller part doesn't work for me. It looks really flat and textureless. I would try to thin out the lines between the stones and add some more dark and light spots on the stones themselves to add a texture feeling. When you're dealing with shadows in cracks, there should also be more contrast on the light side than on the dark side where the sun isn't shining (hope that makes sense)
Rooves....
The lighter side is way to faded out. You have to be careful and change the contrast as well as the brightness when doing different views. The lighter side should have more contrast so is looks like the shingle edges are casting shadows. Also, I'd like to see the horizontal joints between the shingles look a little less distinct and less like solid lines. They should be visible but not dominant. This could be a very nice roof texture to have, but you need to polish it up a bit. -

Thanks a lot Toon...its really helpful and appreciated
Looking at your comments, theres nothing there i can disagree with, they all seem valid comments and suggestions.
The next screen i provide should be of the improved objects. (well my try at it)
(I think it would be much easier for me to work on the sequel to the Plain Roof Pack ) -

Well, I was only trying to help and it appears I kind of got attacked.
TBH, I'd never use your objects, these ones because they are pixellated, don't look 3d enough, are too light and colour, and aren't smooth enough. And for all the reasons Toon pointed out. Your flat roof pack, I didn't like because instead of a gradient you used 4 different shades or so for each piece, not a gradual change. Your atlantis columns are an example of an object you made that I feel don't fit into the rct game very well. -

o thanks for your support there...well looks like i've wasted months of work ... just can't please some peopleWell, I was only trying to help and it appears I kind of got attacked.

Objects arent really in demand anymore. I think they're done with for RCT2, honestly. -

Tom, stop acting so childish. Just because you're not considered the best in the biz doesn't mean you suck. You'll have to keep working hard at it before you eventually start making really nice stuff.

You took Deano's comment so badly that it makes me not want to ever download anything you make. You make something in/for RCT/RCT2, it's going to get critized. You can't have it your way all the time. And please don't whine like a kid saying how you've been at it for a year and the only reason your stuff isn't as good as Toon's (just pulling a name outta the blue) is because he has better programs at his disposal. If that's the case, then there's obviously a reason as to why people don't like your stuff as much. You don't have the best programs.
Whatever, anyways, good luck with your objects, because I do like some your stuff. I'm just tired of your attitude towards someone's opinion. You can't please everyone. RCT Depot is behind you almost all of the time, so you need to get used to not everyone saying they love your work. -

I'm really getting tired of seeing the triangular rooftops, you gotta understand that that is American and European architecture not that of the ancient Aztecs. -

Objects that i dont know of(if they have been made) are full tile, and 1/4 tile water blocks. If they were colourable that would be awsome, and a lot of people would use them. I know i would use them. Maybe take it into consideration for a future project. Just dont quit, and take the comments as advice, even if it may seem like someone hates your stuff. -

...i'm sorry for what i've said ...i was just a bit annoyed with some things and some people's comments just put me down and gave me barely any motivation to keep going.
I'm absolutely fine with negative comments - but only useful ones. Really IMO , Toon and Richie's comments have been useful for me. I'm really not expecting "WOW thats amazing!" here at all, but the reason i post here is that i can good, clear feedback which helps me to improve. But in some cases i get feedback thats not really helpful... "i'd never use your objects", "i guess its ok", "it needs work", "everything looks invisible". Whether you wish to use my objects or not i don't care about, but if you feel they are not useful to you - state WHY in a helpful manner.
Mods: i think this topic should be closed or cut down - as its turned personal/off topic. -

Please... don't start on the whole "please shut this topic down" depot/rct2.com syndrome, sometimes things need to be said that may put someone down or something, but in the end it's for the best. My feedback was honest and gave suggestions. Personally, I'm no expert here so I couldn't go into the detail toon went into, but I did explain why I didn't like it. Now, spamming would be saying "I wouldn't use them" and leaving it at that. I didn't, I explained why I didn't like it, as shown by the quote. If you're a good enough object maker, I'd expect that you'd be able to find ways to fix these issues, if you thought my criticism was valid. If you don't, that's absolutely fine, but explain why instead of throwing a tantrum. If you can't cope with criticism, then NE really isn't for you and I would advise you not to post here in the future because it will only end in tears.Well, I was only trying to help and it appears I kind of got attacked.

So... please don't say I didn't say why I didn't like you objects because that's a bit silly, a quite blatantly did, on two seperate occasions. You may also want to consider what the guardian said, it's an extremely valid point, aztecs did not use slated roofs. Perhaps you could research the topic more?
