Looks good. You've definitely got your own style, and I'll applaud you for not conforming to usual standards, when you use the 1x1s. I look forward to the finished and themed coaster.

Thanks alot for all your comments both good and bad. I have taken many of them into consideration. Looking at Johns work has helped to add more detail to my buildings, so thanks deanosrs. Additionally I have moved the lims further away from the entrance and cut fown on the amount of rooves covered with wood. I Have finished themeing the inverter but I won't be posting many shots of that area because I want to save some stuff for release, which I imagine should be a couple of weeks, after my QFTB release.
The park is aiming to be realistic, not fantasy, so that might influence your comments.

I don't think I'm getting the look you're going for... Though it feels kind of generic to me. :twitch:

When are you ever going to make a positive comment to anyone?

I hereby claim you "Ultimate #######" (no offense moon, just by my terms).

Actually he was nice about it. Its called constructive critism, and for once he did give that. Ive noticed he seems to have changed in his last few posts. So stop. Now...

I kinda like it, although i agree with others you should cut donw on all the brick. Give it some mroe new textures, and it will really help it. Apart from that i dont really have any advice on improving, its looking pretty cool. Good to have on the forums.

I fail to see how "drastically horrible" I was.

Perhaps you could give me a PM to explain what you meant to me, or maybe I should just learn to explain myself better.

Anyway, I do think this could head somewhere, if you take the time to be a designer, not a builder. Theres a difference.

Lucifer, i have no problem with any bad comment, as they can help you. So feel free to tell me the bits you hate, and i will then try to improve those bits.

Here is a complete pic of some of the x-gardens area. I won't be posting many more pics this size as I want to save the park for release.
Please comment on the pics and give me advice on how to improve areas.
The reason I am updating so much is this park will be my ne debut and I want it to be of a reasonably high quality.
The image is not attached because of its slightly larger size, so if you have a 56k connection bear the wait.

wow, i like it. The only bad thing i can see is the large flat wall of the station. I know you tried to break it up, but it still looks large and flat. Im not sure i like the fence infront of the brick wall either.

Once again though, theres a lot of brick and wooden roof. Add some more textures, an extra roof type and your there. I think toon has a bigger challenge then most people thought ;)
  • the_legacy%s's Photo
The only real reason i am using the wooden rooves is because they are the only rooves with the brick pattern at the side of them on the pro tour bench, and I don't want to dimport anything in as it mucked up my last project, I was doin ages ago, tropicano woods. Which some of you may remember. The park was nearly complete and it got infected by something or other.

So I am not actually a newbie like I had been saying. I put on that act as I thought that I would get another newbie in QFTB_X, but it backfired and I got Toon. SHIT HAPPENS. I don't know if that link is still open but it shows my earlier work, which is prob. better than my current work as I am still getting into the swing of things, it will take me a couple of months to get it all back.

The concept of a bracket is that people who are good will face the people who are bad, or act like they are bad in your case, because the seeds are from #1 to #16. You just happened to be the 16 and Toon happened to be the 1.

I actually like brick. It gives an old fashioned look, and it can look any way you want with the right scenery. Maybe you should try and add some of the types of the castle walls, as they can fit with almost any type of scenery.

Personally, I think the supports croud the coaster, but that's just me.
  • the_legacy%s's Photo
I have got rid of the lims and replaced them with more realistic and better looking vertical drop rollercoaster. The area is still in x - gardens, but is a different looking area. This is still a preliminary shot though.

It would be nice to know your thoughts on this pic or any other of the pics in this thread.

Sorry about the plants not been watered.

Zoinks!....very nice legacy....the larger version of this screen looks much better than the small one you showed. Quite solid parkmaking from what is shown. The colors are sparatic, but somehow work. The coaster supports are not my favorite, but they are a nice attempt. The theming could be refined imo, but that may be too critical of me because this screen looks really nice as is. My only other suggestion is to try some other wall textures instead of all the brick.
  • Caddie Gone Mad%s's Photo
Its very random. You really should pick a theme and your main colors, right now it looks like you have no idea what you want it to look like.

Edit; regarding the second pic, the brick doesn't quite fit.

A bit more to suck on of the VertiGo area of X- Gardens. This area is now pretty much complete. The next area is timber town which is about 25% done, I'll post some teasers of that area in the next couple of days.

    Please leave comments and suggestions.
