(Archive) Advertising District / Cliché

I decided for my next project I would do a spoof of sorts. A Park that contains all the cheesy (yet sometimes addicting) theme park themes, rides, and decorations.

Yeah, its kind of hypocritical, but It's also kinda propoganda. If you don;t know what I mean by that then oh well.

Small update today becuase I'm not going to spend my day of PTO playing computer games. I'll release more park details later. Here is a screen of the entrance:

Loving the entrence. The colours make it look like a building made of the sweets from a pick 'n' mix stand.

You're already doing one thing wrong, colour, use brown a bit more.

Wow those ticket booths kick serious ass. I love that fountain too. The colors are bright and inviting, something you would expect to see in an entrance plaza. Look for a PM soon.

It's not really a theme, but the unlimited usage of Toon's 1/4 tile castle window-blocks in almost every park nowadays... that's really 'cliché'....
The screen looks well done, nothing spectacular though... a good art-deco entrance, a bit cliché

This park should be very interesting. It looks so good right now. I can't wait to see later additions.

The ticket booths and fountain are really nice. I wish you could've waited, to have a set of complete screens for more comments.

I like the idea, but you need more screens. The one you've shown is very good, but I really only like the main entrance (after the fountain). That green looks wonderful.

Thats a really nice screen. It has color, innovation, technique.


This looks to be a fun park and I can't wait to see more. Although It does make me think of a padded cell.

It was a joke, referring to the lack of colour that was once the predominant "thing" here, note the name being "Cliché".

Hence the text emoticon.

This is a fantastic idea! Possibly the only entrance I've seen in years that feels realistic enough to make me want to walk through it. This park may be called "Cliche" and may be built as such, but that may make it the most realistic park I've ever seen. However, it does make you think... If I find this "Cliche" idea to be realistic, what does that say about the state of actual living, breathing amusement parks?
