LOL, should've figured they'd have a new version up today.

Anywho, it's not really any different than it was yesterday, or any version before it. The only visible change from 5 to 6 is the logo. I don't really think that calls for a version change. They're really still at 1.0 with different colors if ya ask me.

If you would read the front page, it would tell you what we have changed. And yes, you should have figured we'd have a new version today because we do every year on this date.

A new version would require a layout change, not just a new logo and features. People add features all the time, but that doesn't mean it's a new version...

Enlighten me and tell me where this is defined?

Um. It's kinda an unwritten rule. You don't just say "new version!" because the logo is changed, and, ooooh, a couple new articles and what not is added. The main reason why there is an updated "version" is for an overall overhaul of the design, like Freak said (thank you by the way). Cnet has NEVER changed it's layout. And if you say yes it has, adding graphic buttons that just say "features," "contact," "media," etc, that doesn't count, cause that's all they've changed since 1998 (other than the colors, which i mentioned, which isn't much of a change).

Use the Way Back Machine at www.archive.org and type in rcthq.com and rctheadquarters.com Then look at all our past versions. Notice a layout changes each time we announce a new version.

Notice NE. This is v2 because the entire look of the site changed...

I agree with you guys and I do not work on the site so I do not have control over changing the layout, etc. It is more of an anniversary for C-Net and because of that they decide to fix up and add a few things. Maybe they should use a different term than a "new version." I enjoy the site even though the layout is never changed. I don't think that really matters anyway.

Anyways thanks for clearing that new version thing up guys.

I like the site, and have been visiting since Year 2, so congrats on the 6th birthday, but I've always thought that the Version changing each year when all the changes involves only the colors/logos was a bit funny.

Well, I think once in the last 6 years there wasa design change, so I guess they are on V2 now.

    :birthday:

I'm not the one calling it Version 6. You'll have to talk to Blast Coaster or CoasterBGW about that...
