This is self explanitory, what albums are your favorite/ the best in your opinon.

    Mine are:

5)Pronounsed Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd- Lynyrd Skynyrd: The deput album containing many tripple guitar attacks (yes that's right three guitarists). The song Free Bird is a rock legend that many place in their top five for its seven gutar solos and beautiful lyrics. My personal reason for placing this so high is the song Give Me Three Steps which is almost boardering on comidy for the lyrics with a catchy tune such that you'll find yourself singing this on and off for a couple weeks after hearing it.

4)Van Halen I- Van Halen- The deput album for what would become the biggest band of the late 70s and early 80s. Containing the excellent riffs of Running With the Devil, You Really Got Me Now, Dance the Night Away and Jamie's Crying, among others helps to push the album up into rock and roll legend. The wild guitar solos of Eddie Van Halen are matched only by the vocal antics of David Lee Roth. Many of the backup songs, so to speak, contain even wilder guitar and vocals but lack a foward rythem or the same listenablity of the albums masterpeices.

3)Back In Black- Ac/Dc: With the loss of Bon Scott many probably believed that it was the end of the emerging rock giant Ac/Dc, however was quite the opposite. Back in Black is Ac/Dc's pinnical. Angus Youngs amazing guitar litter the entir album and simple riffs such as the title tracks class blast really make this album a powerhouse. The "new" vocalist was Brian Johnson, who could never fill Bon Scotts shoes but made a noble effort and since the remainder of the band were reaching their peak this truely became a masterpiece of sound. The songs Hells Bells, Back in Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, Have a Drink on Me and Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution are all worthy of top 20 placing in my book, and with them all on one album, there is no doupt that this has to be near the top.

2)Led Zepplin 4 (Zozo)- Led Zepplin: Although I do not currently own this album and as such I don't know the names of many of the songs I will do my best. This album could almost be called Led Zepplins Greatest Hits with songs like Stairway to Heaven, which contains Jimmy Page's best guitar and with a guitarist of that ability it must be said that this could be one of the best solos, ever. When the Levy breaks is a inter-wolven song of expearimentation and excellent rythem. There are few bands that can come close to matching Zepplin and this album is their best.

1)Wish You Were Here- Pink Floyd: Simply exceptional. This is before Roger Waters took total control over the bands sound and every band member was making an effort to top Dark Side of the Moon. In my opinion they suceeded. Shine On You Crazy Diamond is split into two parks and surrounds the more normal 3 songs in the center. Each half of Shine On is over 12 minutes in lenth and exicuted beaufully with overlapping rythem and lead guitars, calm supporting drums and Bass and undouptably the best keyboard performance from Rick Write. Welcome to the Machine is the result of Roger Waters tinkering with his beloved synthisizer and is a solid tune in and of itself. Have A Cigar is prehapse the most random song on the album, and yet it fits perfectly. A strange fact is that no member of Pink Floyd sung Have A Cigar as Waters was not yet doing lead vocals and Gilmour proclaimed the lyrics "Whiny and hypocritical" and refused the sing them. The final track before the closing chapter of Shine On is the title song, Wish You Were Here. The most harmonius song ever writen (IMO). The gental guitar riff is instently recognizable and very catchy, the lyrics are simple and utterly beautiful and the gental touches of Keyboard and Piano, the steady drum beat and carefully played bass all boost the depth of the song to nearly unrived levels of depth. On of my top five favorite songs, easily.

    Others:
    Strange Beautiful Music- Joe Satriani
    The Extremist- Joe Satriani
Flying in a Blue Dream- Satriani
    Surfing with the Alien- Satriani
    The Wall- Pink Floyd
    Animals- Pink Floyd
Dark Side of the Moon- Pink Floyd
    Meddle- Pink Floyd
In Through the Out Door- Led Zepplin
    Led Zepplin 2- Led Zepplin
    Physical Graffiti- Led Zepplin
Appetite For Distruction- Guns N' Roses
    Highway to Hell- Ac/Dc
    Cat Scratch Fever- Ted Nugent
    Ted Nugent- Ted Nugent
Tooth, Fang and Claw- Ted Nugent's Amboy Dukes
    The Black Album- Mettalica
The Better Life- 3 Doors Down
    Toys in the Addic- Airosmith
    Get Your Wings- Airosmith

Once again, there is likly many 10s of albums that I love that I am fogetting.

    1. Doves - Last Broadcast
I'm listening to this album now and it's just magic... Caught By The River has to be one of the most underrated songs ever. It's sort of the Phillip Pullman of the musical world - majestic, daring but amazingly good.

    2. Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head
Most people seem to think that Coldplay's second album wasn't up to the high standards set by the first. I disagree. The Scientist is surely their best song to date, In My Place does what Yellow did for Parachutes and to have songs like Warning Sign, Amsterdam and A Rush of Blood to the Head loitering at the end of the tracklisting shows their quality in depth.

    3. Coldplay - Parachutes
What can I say... I'm a fan. I think it was let down slightly by a couple of non-event acoustic tracks but even they have their benefits. This was the album that really got me into listening to music and for that it is one of my all time favourites.

    4. Paloalto - Heroes And Villains
I have yet to work out why no-one seems to have heard of Paloalto. Uplifting, melodic tunes that actually mean something - they hit all the right notes for me. The World Outside is one of the best opening tracks on an album ever as far as I'm concerned, not to forget the rest of the faultless tracklisting.

    5. Oasis - What's The Story Morning Glory
Wonderwall, Roll With It, Champagne Supernova, What's the Story... no more needs to be said I guess. Let down slightly by the corney She's Electric, it's still an all time classic.

    6. Keane - Hopes and Fears
Awesome sound for only a piano, drums and vocalist. Untitled 1 is an absolutely awesome song, although Bedshaped is the song that's most full of actual emotion and meaning that I've ever heard.

Most of this is copied from rcthq....

    1. Exit by K-Os
K-Os' debut album is incredible. He has amazing lyrics and great producton. Completely original and creative, Exit is always refered to as the most refreshing album in hip hop. K-Os won a Source Award for "Best International Album". "When I feel the way of my lost innocense/ Looking for emotions that are fallacy/ Everything is waiting on that dominance/ Hoping for new opuses and alibis" and "I pull out the mic, and shock MC's for spite/ Whatever I write, magnifies heavenly sight/ You said you shinin', but that really means you reflect/ I absorb light within my pores and then connect" are two examples of the amazing lyrical content you can expect from Exit. His second album, "Joyful Rebellion" is due Sept. 21.

    2. First by Kamau
Kamau is a lot like K-Os. He has very similar lyrical content and similar production. He is a little be more creative, but "First" is at the second position because of it's lack of tracks (it's an EP). "I'm a spirit sent to the earth in human form/ Now you hear it, whether quite war or silent storm/ Some fear it, so afraid to stray from the norm I rever it, although my narrow path is torn/ My past goes beyond the day I was born" and "I'm trying to move faster then the speed of thought/ thought carries me/ Beyond were I out to be, caught in this conspiracy/ Don't pay me any mind, mind you I'm inside/ Of blind eyes, blind eyes seen through minds as telepathy/ Kind of strange, strange in that I need change/ Change the way we look life in the brightness of days/ Dazed and confused stares, stares unto new cares, enlightenment/ Stairs step us to freedom, would you fight for it?/ Fight for it if you will, my will is weak if we keep/ Weeks down to hours what's ours is speech/ Speech for the people, people who might be meek/ As I, eyes see glory of this new peace" are the amazing lyrics you can expect.

    3. Global Warning by Rascalz
This was their second album, and it's definetly a great on. Strong production from their memeber DJ Kemo matched with great lryics and some great guest apperances makes this one a winner. "They say that everything has a price/Through material lust, for the things nice/ Better think twice/ Not everything can be bought or sold/ Certine things in this life money don't control" and "Like the U.N/ Who dem?/ Emeny or friend?/ Join or you're left to solve your own problems" are lyrics that show they are concious of the world around them. They also bring some creative lyrics, as seen with "Who got flows that can skip-track a train?/ Or hijack a plane/ or snowflake the rain?". Incredible album.

    4. A Sample And A Drum Machine by Dl Incognito
Dl brings back the old flavours of rap. The 90's style that everyone loved can now love it again with fresh sounding vibes. His lyrics aren't concious, but they are on par with most American artists. "Got radio stations pumping one minute senstaions/ They wandering aimless with no destination" and "If you've got nothing good to say why bother speak/ I heard image is everything and talk is cheap" exemplify some of his lyrics. "It's like a flood, heads rush when the door opens/ The record store stacks their shelves with the most potent" help display what DL is all about. He uses similies and metaphores like no other rapper. Match that with amazing production by him and his lable mate, Tech Twelve, and you've got one amazing album. I heard a rumor that Shady/Aftermath were watching his moves, with the possibility of signing him in the future.

    5. R U Still Down by 2pac
Amoungst 2pac fans, this disc reigns in the lower ranks. Many people critize it for it's demo like flavour. Me, I love it. The beats and production are very strong. The lyrics, I admit, aren't super strong, but the album has it's high points. "Do For Love", "Hellrazor" and "I Wonder If Heaven Got A Ghetto" are the most lyricaly insightful songs. Most of the rest of the songs have lyrics of the ghetto and that kind of passe thing, but it doesn't impede the albums entertainment value.

Amorphis - Tales from the thousands lakes
Tales From The Thousands Lakes" is a deserved classic (although as much as I enjoy it, I think "Elegy" is better - one of the best albums I've ever heard). I've heard people call it progressive death and melodic death. But neither are truly suiting to their sound at this point. Although they do some progressive things here and have some creative songwriting, this isn't a very "progressive" album stylistically - "Elegy" takes that to that level. Melodic death metal is usually referred to the Gothenburg sound, which is Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, and their innumberable impersonators. Amorphis wasn't like them. The Gothenburg sound has death vox, but isn't wolly "metal" in its instrumental sound. Tales-era Amorphis was most certainly a metal sound; it is just some of the most melodic metal you'll ever get the pleasure of hearing! Some of the best melodies I've ever heard are off this record. Look no further than "The Castaway" and "Black Winter Day."

    Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Amazing effort by one of the best thrash bands ever. The intensity on this album is unbelievable, but It manages to pack in amazing riffs in to the blistering speed of the music, unlike alot of the newer metal bands . Way heavier and faster than anything from Slayer. Was a bridge for me to get into death metal. The riffs here are some of the heaviest ever (just check out Riot of Violence) Oh yeah, and the cover kicks ass.

    Death - Symbolic
Probably the best Death Metal Album ever released, this is some hard to play stuff. The music is unbelievable, the guitar solo's are extremly melodic and mystical, just shows Chuck Schuldiner's amazing ability. The lyrics are intelligent, and thought-provoking, which some ignorent people may say is impossible for metal. It combines tons of random riffs and drumming, and yet still maintains to have a ton of unbelievably catchy hooks. Brilliant work. IMO One of the best album's of all time, of any genre.

Faith No More - The Real Thing
I've had this CD a LONG time and I still love it today. I've always loved Faith No More and there fusion of Metal, Funk, and Rap. For everyone who likes nu-metal, they WERE the blueprint for bands like Korn and Linkin Park. Don't get me wrong however, this album is anything but the crap Linkin Park has pumped out, it's just awesome awesome music. Faith no more have been cruley shunned as a one hit wonder, which I think there not. "Epic" may have been the only song to get to the top of billboard, but ALL of the songs here are great, no fillers IMO. This album features the legendary "Epic", an amazing Cover of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs", and my favorite instrumental of all time "Woodpecker from Mars". Another one of the greatest albums of all time.

    Metallica - Master Of Puppets
San Francisco based heavy metal rockers Metallica's third album, 1986's Master of Puppets, was the second jewel in Metallica's triple crown of classic albums(the other two were 1984' Ride the Lightning and 1988's And Justice For All). Vocalist/rhythm guitarist James Hetfield, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, drummer Lars Ulrich and bassist Cliff Burton played on this and their first three discs like a well-oiled machine. This album begins with the masterpiece Battery. At first listen, it sounds like it is going to start off to be an acoustic piece but then it goes into full throttle heavy metal and you are in for a ride on this album which some say is better than its predecessor, 1984's Ride the Lightning(I like Ride better). Next, is the title cut which is one of Metallica's best songs. The Thing That Should Not Be follows and is a great tune as well. The first half ends with Welcome Home(Sanitarium), which is arguably the best song from the Burton era next to Fade to Black. The second half of this album is strong too. It kicks off with Disposable Heroes and then Leper Messiah follows. The instrumental Orion is great and features a stellar bass solo from the late Cliff Burton, whom would tragically die unfortunately after this album's release in a bus crash in Sweden that September. The album ends like it began with another speed rocker Damage Inc. and does not fail. This album was the first Metallica album to go Platinum without a radio hit or video, just goes to show you didn't need MTV for fame.
