Its not the money Nash wants, its the years. Dallas is allowed to (and did i believe) counter offer. Im assuming that Dallas offered him 3 years but Pheonix gave him 5. Its all silly bullshit to me, why on earth would you leave a top contender like Dallas to go to the Suns? I think its a shame though, too many people change teams too often. I miss the days when people played for the same team for more than 5 years. Where is the heart and commitment that players like Jordan, Bird, Olajuwan, Reggie Miller, & Stockton (just to name a few) had?

Coach K rejected the Lakers, Rudy T is the front-runner again, Kobe is going to engage in "serious discussions" with the Clippers, the Nuggets are trying to grab Kobe, and yeah... Lakerdom isn't looking bright these days. :(

Lakerdom isn't looking bright these days.  :(

    I pity you, Cork.

    Oh wait.

    ;)

The Lakers should get some pretty good players in return for Shaq when/if you trade him. Although he is one of the best players out there. I see Kobe staying with the Lakers, but we shall see.
  • VC15SA%s's Photo
Looks like Rudy T practically has the job now.

Seems like everyone wants Kobe these days. It'd be funny if he went to Denver. Maybe he's planning on spending a long time in Colorado...

I hear there are a lot of nice "white chicks" in Colorodo.

The Nash deal makes sense to me. If i'm a gaurd and my team hasn't been to succesfull, then i need to look at other options. By going to Pheonix, Nash goes back to the team that originally drafted him and gets to play with some serious developong talent. Expect to hear "Nash to Stoudamire" a bunch this next season. Not to mention a developing off gaurd in Joe Johnson.

Kobe's decision will decide Shaq's position. If Kobe leaves the Lakers then I see Shaq's position change on staying. They will re-up his contract for a few more years. The Rudy T thing is an interesting development, the guy just got over cancer, and originally he wasn't planning on returning to the NBA until next season. He will be a nice fit, definately not as smug as Phil.

Hey aero...explain "not successful". How is Dallas "not successful" in the past few years? Last year they were tied for the best record in the league, and this year they went to the second round of the playoffs. If you mean winning a championship...then there are about 50 starting guards in the league in the same position. And sure you can surround yourself with a nice nucleus of talent with Marion, Stoudemire, and Joe Johnson...but leaving the most player-friendly owner in the league, and a team packed of former all-stars (Dirk, Finley, Walker, and I believe Stackhouse) for a "project" just doesn't make sense at all. I guess it didn't help matters when Dallas drafted Devin Harris with the 5th spot and dubbed him the "point guard of the future".

Oh well, you'll be hearing Nash to Stoudemire a lot on highlight reals....but not in the playoffs.

I think the Suns have a good chance of making the playoffs. If they do get Quentin Richardson it makes their chances even better. I don't really see Kobe going to Denver, I see him ending up on the Clippers.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
The Suns grossly underperformed last year. They have a great core of youths and can make the playoffs next season and become a contender in three or four years if they stick together, work hard, and all.

    Hey aero...explain "not successful".

same way I explain the Kings as being not succesfull. At some point you have to weigh your options, Nash did that and got seriously paid by an up and comming team.

If http://sports.espn.g...tory?id=1836585 is true, this would be the absolute worst trade in professional sports history.

Im a former season ticket holding Heat fan and I don't like this deal, Odem has more of a future then Shaq, and was our co-star with Wade, Maybe Butler & Grant and the pick, but I dubt the lakers would pull this without Odem. I think the trade will happen coz LA wants Shaq in the east, and Shaq wants to play for the Heat. I will need to go to the tripel A and show Shaq the right way to shot FT's tho ;)
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
Odom sucks when he's not healthy. He showed promise in Miami, but what's the say the LA air won't make him revert to his old habits? Way too much to lose for the Lakers to make THAT deal.
  • VC15SA%s's Photo
Who doesn't suck when they aren't healthy? Anyways I think it is a good trade for the Lakers because they get Shaq out of the West. I think it will hurt Miami though in the long run.

    No?

The Jazz have signed Boozer to an offer sheet and I see him doing pretty good there if Cleveland doesn't match.
  • MachChunk 2%s's Photo
Actually, the Jazz don't look bad from what I see. Let's hope they get there "dynasty" type thing like in the 90's. :X

Shaq in Miami. I never thought of it before, but now that I have, it just sounds right. Where are you going to go after living in LA anyway? Miami sounds about right.
  • VC15SA%s's Photo
Orlando, Los Angeles, and now Miami. It does sound right.
