I would like these coasters gone by 2009:
SFMM: X, Deja Vu, S:TE, all due to maintenance concerns, also relocate Flashback to
another place in the park
SFGAm: Deja Vu, maintenance
SFoG: Deja Vu, see DV @ SFGAm for reason
MA: Corkscrew, roughness
SFoT: Mr. Freeze, maintenance
SFStL: Mr. Freeze, maintenance
That's my 2 cents worth. -

cant account for the freeze at sfot....but the sfstl one has always been running when ive gone, and depending on how busy it is, they will open the second station so they can have both trains running.
also moving to games & polls... -

I havent been to many parks, but:
Corkscrew @ Alton Towers - THe most bumby, unenjoyable ride at any tussauds park.
X No Way Out @ Thorpe Park - The most boring, slow (it stops 3 times around the circuit) indoor (dark) coaster ever. Anyone that has been there is sure to agree with that.
Space Mountain @ disneyland paris - I know its the track type, and kinda getting old but its so bumby, they should at least do something with the head rests and top of the shoulder restraints. It feels like your head is backed on to metal.Edited by Richie, 19 June 2004 - 05:01 AM.

Corkscrew @ Alton Towers: The question is, why is it still there.
X - No Way Out @ TP : See Richie's. -

Thorpe currently don't have any plans to remove X for some years. As much as I would love to see it go I think it will be there for at least another 5 years. They don't need the land for anything else with all the in-filling of the lakes they have planned so I don't think they'll remove it until they really need the space. I think they should just remove the coaster, re-theme the building and have a Tomb Raider style ride inside (giant indoor top spin). -

I agree. Removing the ride would be cool, or even building another indoor coaster w/ loops or what ever. It would be an awful lot of work for them though, for not much. I read somewhere theres plans for a top thrill dragster ride, but it will break the record of height/speed. I dont know if this is true, and i doubt it is coz they wont get planning permission.Thorpe currently don't have any plans to remove X for some years. I think it's 2006 they plan on adding a rocket coaster from Intamin but it won't break any height or speed records, it'll most likely be very similar to Xcellerator. A new area is going behind Tidal Wave and taking up the sunken gardens to accomodate it. -

-Personally I doupt Top Thrill Dragster will be there in 10 years unless it's still the tallest and fastest coaster in the world. It's a one trick ride that is great for records but it won't get the following that Raptor, Magnum and Millennium Force have gained by being GREAT ALL AROUND RIDES, not just one trick ponies.
-Mean Streak needs to go too. A GCI or Gravity Group woodie would be better and it would leave more room back there for a new looper or flyer.
-Disaster Transport is exactly that, a disaster. If it was removed CP might have enough room there for something interesting. Like maybe a couple HUSS giants or something.
-Shockwave at Parimount Kings Dominion. It's rough as hell and loading takes forever. I don't know what would fit in it's place, but anything is an improvement over THAT.
-Deja Vu@ SFGAmer. Never opperates and if Intamin and Six Flags were creative with place I beleive that they could put a small rocket coaster in there, maybe a 300 footer... Who knows?
-Wildcate @ Michigans Adventure. Rough, nasty, boring. It's more like mildcat and some of the track work is horrid. If this was removed it would be a hell of a lot easer to expand a midway down allong Shivering Timbers into the 150 acres of open field just asking for developement. The loss of Wildcat would be minor if they could gain a Power-Tower style trio and an Intamin hyper.

Flashback @ SFMM: They only run it like two months in a year, right? They should just get rid of it all together after they get another coaster so they can hold their o-so-precious record.
Manhattan Express @ NYNY Casino: They probably won't get rid of it though because they still make a ton of money off of it. If they could get someone to retrack it/replace the trains it might be ok.
Deja+X had no problems when I went to SFMM Thursday...yeah. @ShiverTimbersRules: Understand that SFMM is not going to give up their record because of maintenance anyways. -

I disagree, Shockwave is one of my favorite rides. IMO, rough coasters like Shockwave are much funner than smooth ones like B&Ms. Don't get me wrong, smooth ones are wicked fun, but they just don't have the "danger appeal" like rough ones. Close your eyes on a B&M and it barely feels like you're on a coaster.-Shockwave at Parimount Kings Dominion. It's rough as hell and loading takes forever. As for things I'd like to see removed:
Canyon Blaster at the Great Escape: I normally go to the Great Escape when I'm visiting my family in VT, which is maybe twice a year. It was a mistake getting this, because GE already has enough family type attractions. They could probably fit a TA2k in the space this takes up.
All sit-down (non-inverting) boomerangs: Rough as hell, plus they're not very reliable. -

Deja Vu at SFOG is open quite a bit. Many of the issues that have plagued the Giant Inveted Boomerangs have been fixed. It is actually open quite a lot.SFoG: Deja Vu, see DV @ SFGAm for reason

I dissagree here, i dont find banging my head over and over, more fun that sitting back, relaxing while you hurtled through loops and twists. I love nemesis at alton towers, maiunly coz its so fast, yet so smooth. I like disneyland paris' space mountain, but its so bumpy you have to spend the whole ride concentrating on not hitting your head. YOu cant enjoy the ride properly like this.IMO, rough coasters like Shockwave are much funner than smooth ones like B&Ms. Don't get me wrong, smooth ones are wicked fun, but they just don't have the "danger appeal" like rough ones. Haven't been to England, but I hear Nemisis is pretty good. But on rides like Medusa, it's WAY too smooth. It doesn't feel like it's out-of-control, which IMO makes a coaster. -

I disagree. The Batman: The Ride clones are smooth but you still feel out of control, they are more intense than your average B&M. Smoothness can greatly improve a coaster. For example, Six Flags Marine World's boomerang model is newer, and smoother. However Boomerang at Knoot's Berry Farm is older and a lot rougher. I didn't come off Boomerang at SFMW say ouch, where as I did at Knott's. Not that boomerangs are fun, with the exception of GIB models.Haven't been to England, but I hear Nemisis is pretty good. Rattler @ SFFT. They already had to lower its "glory drop" due to safety reasons. It is still rough and can give one big headache. -

Every park needs a mix of smooth and rough coasters. They also need to keep older coasters that gave the park their name and image. -

I highly doubt Cedar Point is willing to give up 3 of their coasters because some people don't like them. I personally love all 3 of those, with the exception of Disaster Transport's tiny seats and little leg room and painful lap bars.-Personally I doupt Top Thrill Dragster will be there in 10 years unless it's still the tallest and fastest coaster in the world. I found Mean Streak and TTD both amazing rides, as long as Intamin can keep TTD running well with low mainteance problems then it will last longer then ten years regardless of other coasters breaking the height and speed record. I doubt it will take the route of S:TE.
Mean Streak is more likely to be replaced by another wooden coaster but there's not alot wrong with it either. So what if it is a bit rough, people need to stop being such cry babies and take a little bit of a shaking about it's all part of the fun, if you know you don't like it don't fucking ride it there is enough warnings. I don't understand why if Mean Streak needs to be tworn down why The Texas Giant doesn't? They are both very similar rides, I think Cedar Point regulars are getting spoilt and don't appreciate what they have.
