If you look at the point, cBass won by 6.
So regardless of vTd...cBass is your winner.

I have some thanks as well: to iris and raven for organising, for the people who entered, not only the finals but the prelims as well, the judges of the final and prelims (especially those who took the time judging my entries) and everyone who looked at my entries. It's been an awesome comp, definitely the best in rct history.

20. ride6 - Not really as bad as 20/23 would suggest...good archy, good coasters, dumb idea for 2 themes. Not really too much wrong, just he got beat by 19 others.


19. six frags - Some creative themes and some nice big archy, but no standout coasters. Not much wrong.



18. nemchris - really a good looking entry, I enjoyed the rapids. I'd love to see a theme from him that wasn't bricky/tropically/mideival walls ish.


17. micool - Yay! Good stuff, just unfinished. Go flower floaters!


16. me - I had a good time. I hope I get bonus points for doing a leetspeak theme?


15. natelox - 3 nice villiages. Not gonna do it for me in a contest where someone made a frickin brain. Obviously an assload of skill, though.


14. prince ashitaka - Some nice, classic prince stuff, but the crappy gatsby area holds it back significantly.


13. voodoo - See my comments re: Nemchris. All of my compliments and criticisms apply to voodoo as well, except voodoo did just about everything even better than NC. Nice coasters, although a bit cliche' with the archy, steel twister, invert, mine train, rapids, etc...nice to finally see a release, though!


12. john - Not much to this map. The archy that is there is gorgeous, but he had like nothing on there due to the massive paths and water. I'd have given Kumba the parkmaker slot. Impressive, nonetheless.


11. Kumba - Hehe. Finally, something that isn't brown. I like it, thanks for the nice themes. Cool Daemon's, too, and nice training course.


10. slob - The best out of the "good looking" category, by far. I loved the intamin looper...really a strong entry. Congrats on the parkmaker spot, well deserved, excellent park.


9. twisted - Loved the future area, definately an underrated parkmaker, nice job in the contest!


8. corky - Keeps the atmosphere, but seemingly goes nuts and tries some newer crazy things...like intermingled coasters, cool 1/4 tile usage. Nice entry.


7. evil wme - I liked it. Good jungly theme. I also adore the invertage.


6. phatage - Heh. One of my favorite crazy entries. Nice track tower, good work!


5. bokti - Sandcastle area is great, bokti is king of woodies!


4. mantis - To be honest, a little dissapointing...bearing in mind that it's mantis. It's just not as mantisy as I had hoped? I liked womb better, although the rapids/station arches are insane, and the vertical coaster was great!


3. cbass - Everyone got served! He had the best ideas in the contest...a frickin brain?? A sex area? NICE. The whole waterslide brain was impressive to say the least, really a great entry.


2. Mala - Best use of 1/4 tile blocks, ever. Mala has his own style, essentially copy-proof because nobody has enough skill to even try to imitate it. One of the most immersing entries, definately the best coaster lineup, and those duelers rocked my world.


1. butter - He had some great ideas like Cbass...but I liked that he made it into a park. He had good RCT ideas, like custom rides, a mansion, etc. The platypus ride owned, the drunken swan ride owned, this park kicked ass like nobody's business. The most "fun" entry, butter takes it for me...which is a surprise because I am not really a fan of euroscape.

22: Country Squire- RWAdems; Boring, Just nothing to see. Okay woodie and a pinch of atmosphere and that's about all.

21: Darkwood Amusements- Posix; A certain flair about the style and a beautiful woodie but boring boxes for archetecture just don't cut it, same goes to the lack of land-height variation in the layout. Realistic with a good woodie.

20: Palm Springs Florida- NemChris; Too many bright colors, horrid landscaping but with excellent land-height changes. Neat coaster too, nothing really wrong here, just that the other stuff with either more creative or just plain better.

19: Elements- Gir; Pretty decent landscaping considering the bareness. Decent Invert with shit for ratings. A good park with a captivating atmosphere, but it's not enough to really push it up there.

18: The 10th Kingdom- SixFrags; Very good in the archetecture, landscaping and layout system however it's also poor in color and rides. Theming could've been improved in places. A nice park with some defects.

17: Ancient Enchantments- Prince Ashitaka; Good enterence area and a good area around the Verical drop, the rest is crappy, rushed and sloppy. eh.

16: NERD- Gymkid; A great consept with cool coasters and fun idea's, just not too skillful in exicution. A top five in the "fun" catigory.

15: Harmony Harbor- Micoooool; Creative as hell but unfinished. That sums it up. ps- Flower boats kick ass.

14: WTF- Bokti; Great woodie and some interesting idea's in all three area's but every area was greatly defected. Bokti seems to have sacrificed some of his skill in favor of a sort of wacky creativity and it doesn't work for me.

13. The Lehseban Wilderness- Evil WME; A park that has been slowly growing on me despite alot of plain spots and repetive texture and color use in the archetecture. Great duelers and a solid park. On of the "beautiful parks".

12: Continent Traasok- Twisted; Almost OZONE like, which is a very good thing.

11. Valkar Sol- Corkscrewed; Lots of good idea's thrown together in a way that wasn't so good. In areas where only small parts of the screen drew you towards the coasters were great. Architecture is top notch and the colors are beutiful, if only the coasters and other theming bits were.

10. Universal's Cayman Islands of Adventure- Slob; A "beutiful" park the seems brighter than say The Lehseban Wilderness, but darker than Palm Springs. Somehow the park just seems somewhat stale, although it's very refined. I don't know.

9. Gouvia Point- Voodoo; Too many flowers but an amazing atmosphere, only one corner that I didn't like. Nice.

8. Darwood Grove- Kumba; A fleet of creative, insane, ideas crammed onto one map. Compairable with BOMB for creativity awards. All kinds of stuff to look at, a very detailed map. I just have to wonder can Kumba top it?

7. Disney's Mini Sea- John; Shiny. I don't know how else to describe it. The archetecture looks like a miniturized corkscrew, getting rid of the boxes without taking away from the realism. I like.

6. Epica- Phatage; Great theming, decent landscaping, inspired ideas. What could go wrong? Well both the coasters, that's what. Hell could've used alittle more exposure too.

5. The Divine Comedy- Mantis; A park that I want to love but I just can't. The idea's are great and the careful use of color are great but where's the old "in your face" parkmaking we expect from mantis? I don't know and I miss it.

4. Basics of my Brain- cBass; A cool park that wasted too much of the map between forming the correct shape, criss-crossed water slides and lots of large, somewhat plain areas. A park that is creative as hell and skillful exicuted but that I believe will lack in re-open value here soon.

3. Butter's Platypus Paradise- Butterfinger; Fun as all get out. Unbelievable stuff. Hilarious banner signs, creative and fun loving idea's and finally almost unbeatable exicution. The buildings were too damn big but everything else was bad ass. I love.

2. Three Villages- Natelox; Once I turned on soothing music for each village this park just came alive with atmosphere. I spent 2 or 3 hours just moving around in the park, following the go karts or the rapids. It could use a signature attraction but I love it as it is, for what it is.

1. Rift Valley- Mala; Mount Sinister is still better but this really doesn have an increadable amount of excellent material. The best coaster line up in the competition, easy, and the archetecture is pure mala goodness. Same goes for the theming. The only defects being that everything is too crammed together and there really isn't enough "light" areas for me. The landscaping variation isn't quite what I would expect from Mala either, however it is still amazing in spots. My conclusion? Mini Mt. Sinister, and the bigger one is really better.
Sick, sick park though.

Thanks, but I think i've moved on. This was much more satisfying than any work i've done previously. Womb was fun, but I think it's empty compared to this.

Maybe we'll just say i'm diversifying? I'm expecting further lukewarm responses, because I don't want to stick with what people think i'm good at if I don't think it's good any more. We'll see. Not long till rct3 anyway.

Since I don't really feel like going through all the parks and ranking them, I figgured I'd go for a top 5 list:

1. Rift Valley by Mala
While not his best work, it was the best of the competition. Great coasters as usual.

2. The Divine Comedy by Mantis
The paradise area with its arches was so close to perfection. The sand walls and the hell theme didn't work.

3. Butter's Platypus Paradise by Butterfinger
Impressive. Micool take note: A park can be funny while following "The Rules". Best "Funny Park" ever made.

4. Disney's MiniSeas by John
The paths were a bit to wide and the large grass areas didn't work to well, but he made the park a Disney park. Great job.

5. Universal's Cayman Islands of Adventure by Slob
You showed the skill and style of SACoasterfreak without blatently infringing any copyright laws. Creativity was shown aswell. Just needs to be a little more polished and this could have been a winner.


And a note to ride6: About the music. I never have the music on while I play RCT. My computer can't keep up with it and everything slows down. Usually when I enter a park for a spotlight, I remember to turn all the music on for those who do listen for it. I guess I just rushed to the end a bit. You'll notice more evidence of this with two of the villages where I forgot to put stores and benches/lighting.

^ Ah, I see. That's fine, I only set up the musci in my parks but the rides stay closed until it's ready for release and all that. Three Villages was great without the music, however add in the tunes and the park hits magical status, its lovely.

I couldn't judge due to technical difficulties, but now that I've seen the parks, here's how I would have ranked them. I put a lot of thought into this. Considering the quality of the parks, it sure wasn't easy. Even harder to judge than Hi-Rollers was. I added up the points totals with my scores factored in and the only significant difference this would have made is that Kumba would have jumped to number 9 ahead of both John and slob. An interesting thought. (No that isn't just a H2H team thing, and it's not cause he sent me RCT discs either. I really did like Kumba's park that much). Anyway, I'll post comments in the individual park topics when I get around to them. Great parks everybody. And congrats cBass especially. Genius, pure genius. I had to give Mala number 1 cause I still cannot even fathom how he does what he does. But I'm happy you won just the same.
