    A bit scared to do this, but I've decided to go with a Disney theme for the park, a more relaxed one, but still up there with the themeing. This won't have the traditional DL park layout, so ya can't bash me for that. :lol: Anywho, so I've come up with the name Disneyland Resort Cyprus, and here's the logo...

    And a screenshot of the Main Street railroad station...

    I'll be working on this a lot now since school is OVER. Until college that is. Still expected to be released by the end of Jewlie. Ha. Ya. That's it for this hour. Completed Main Street screen ("teaser" really) in a couple of hours.

    It's nice. I like it alot. So far it has the quaint feeling you would expect from Main Street.

    If it were me, I would have selected a different roof type for the Station other then Toon's Spanish rooves. They don't fit the Main Street theme very well.

    One question: What or where is Cyprus?
  • iBrent%s's Photo
    Cyprus=Greece. :yup:

    EDIT: I got it mixed up with Crete, since I was also thinking of making that the "location." :twitch:

    Oh.

    Duh. :p

    Actually Cyprus is an island in the Mediterranean southeast of Greece and southwest of Turkey.

    HH, I honestly regret your decision to go for a Disney park. I think that although you could conceivably pull the Disney themes off very well, seeing as how you seem to have a feel for the game already, there are still a few too many Disney parks in the AD now and it just seems like you’re getting in line. Like Posix said, there are theme parks and amusement parks. I was looking forward to this being the latter type, a change from the usual themed areas and a venture into a more laid-back type of park. Doing the Disney theme just seems like the beaten path and this, of all parks, looks like the road less taken would be more appropriate. Anyway, good job on the train station screen and I will look forward to seeing this park in progress, but admittedly not as much as I would have had it been an indy park. :'(

    Curses. Well, take this as a challenge test for me to see what I can do without coasters, and more on themeing, with my next park (still in planning stages, if anyone wants to build one with me pm me! :)) one that has the themeing, as well as the coaster engineering. I'll just progress with each park, learning from the previous one trying to outdo it. Yeah.

    I didn't mean it was not good, if you took it to mean that. My apologies. I like what you have here very much and the quality of the work is such that you don't have to make excuses for anything. I just would have liked to see this without the Disney label and I think it would have suited an indy park better.

    EDIT: This is just my personal opinion, and I know a lot of people are going to disagree with it, but IMO if it's not too late you should try and revert back to an independent theme as you have it, using the Main Street as a kind of midway. Unless that kind of foils your plan for the park.

    That new screen is so goddamn sweet, I love it. Looks very disney-ish to me too.
    But Cyprus is in fact an island and I'm afraid they wouldn't have enough space for a whole disney park, heh. Still I kinda like the name.

    Can't wait for this park, keep up the great work.

    Cyprus=Italy. :yup:

    lmao.

    and @ mad dawg.

    the screen looks good, but it doesn't look tropical in the least bit.

    Looks cool and does have the Disney feel but it also looks too small, maybe you could raise it up a few tiles, I think that would help. Nice work though.

    My one complaint is that in the first screen, it looks like the ice cream supports are blocking the window. Take out the ice crem or tkae out the window.

    Other than that, I'm really enjoying the park.

    Ok, well...

    Panic: No, I didn't take it that way. No worries. As for the indie thing, it's hard because I made myself fall into the Disney entrance with the station how I made it. I originally wanted to do a mix of everything, Disney, Paramount, and Cedar Fair (notice how I leave SF out, lol), and maybe some Universal. Actually, yes... I have some ideas for that, a great one really, but that's hush hush for now.

    As far as just going backwards, or just using the Main Street, it's weird, I really like what I have so far. But if I revert back to the indie park, but keep the entrance/main street as is, people will be mixed about it. I really don't know what to do about it, lol.

    Anywho...

    Posix: Thanks again, and yes, Cyprus is rather small, but Disney could just be pulling a Hong Kong Disney and make the land themselves! lol

    Evil WME (what does that stand for?): Yeah, as you'll now read in that post, I mistook Cyrpus for Crete, as I was going between the two for what name to anchor on to the park. My bad.

    And it's not Del Sol anymore, so the tropical thing's kinda gone, and was never really there. It was just a... makeshift name. Or something like that. Yeah.

    rctfan: Thanks, but what should be raised up? And I agree the buildings are a tad small, but that'll be taken care of.

    Ska-man: Hmmm, good eye, wonder why I kept one of the two after adding the ice-cream statue thing. Probably just forgot. I'll change that, thanks.

    OK, now, as for the update, all is complete up to where the Penny Arcade would be (if this continues to be a Disney park, lol). Once I add some last touches, and maybe a couple more buildings, a new screen(s) shall appear.

    Tis all. Oh. And I spiced up the logo a wee bit.
