Awesome. Bet they'll appear on ebay for extortionate prices as the tournament progresses  -

If an errant kick sends the ball flying into the stands, does the lucky fan who catches the ball (after it bounces off someone else's head) get to keep it, or do they send the football police up to retrieve it? -

Lol I was thinking about that actually, I bet there are gonna be so many people trying to quikcly put the ball under their jackets and tops. And then end up being kicked out the stadium and not being able to see the game at all. -

I think they try and keep the balls, the stadium's always keep one, and if a player gets a hat-trick they get a match ball. But I have seen balls being snuck out of lower league matches, don't know if you'd get away with it at euro 2004 tho... -

Bah, no fun. They make 20 balls per match, just let the people keep them. Like baseball. Baseball kicks ass, except when a foul ball (or home run ball, or baseball bat, or flying player) hits you in the face. Then you bleed and break noses, but you do get (bloody) face time on TV and an autographed picture if you're lucky. -

wouldn't it be nice if holland got first in their group and sweden, well, gets second (since they'll get beat by italy) and holland can play sweden =).Assuming this has become the official EM football topic at NE, Sweden beat Poland with 3-1, yay. Fear us.

They got 20 And more are coming Thats one big sack..they got one ball? lol.
The fans usually throw the ball back into play, it can be pretty boring when the team is waiting for some guy to throw the ball back after trying to get it in your bag. + everyone would see who took it, and stare at them -

What does everyone think of Italy's chances?
4-2-3-1
--------------------Buffon
Panucci-----Nesta----Cannavaro-----Zambrotta
--------------Gattuso----Zanetti
Fiore---------------------------------------Del Piero
----------------------Totti-----------------------------
---------------------Vieiri----------------------------
Looks pretty good to me, in fact better than France (espicially the defence) -

They've got the best centre back partnership, the full backs aren't that impressive though. Italy's problem is teamwork - del Piero and Totti are mortal enemies because one stole the others g/f or something - at the last world cup, they refused to go on the pitch at the same time. A lot depends on Vieri's form, and whether or not they get Graham Poll as ref for any of their matches (that was sooooo hilarious...) -

Yeah that'd be cool, easy wins are always goodwouldn't it be nice if holland got first in their group and sweden, well, gets second (since they'll get beat by italy) and holland can play sweden =).
Actually, I don't care that much about Sweden. It'd be nice to win and all, but the main thing I feel is that the matches are fun. -

For me, by far the most entertaining thing about watching football matches (when your in a neutral position...) is penalty shoot outs - it's so easy to spot who's going to score and who's going to miss, based on their body language when they put the ball on the spot. Classic example - Southgate @ euro '96 - he was never going to score. -

Totti spends so much time begging for penalties that he forgets to play football.
Haha, the babybel advert. -

Yeah I can't beleive Holland, they have such a good team on paper, but they just somehow seem to loose to stupid teams. It's mad. -

some old players there, don't underestimate that. What does everyone think of Italy's chances?

might be the reason too why they are seriously one of the main contenders. Not coz they play better soccer but coz they know how to win.
and mort.. don't get me started.
and deano.. i don't like shoot-outs. -

What formation would you guys play if you were Sven?
4-4-2
-------------------------James---------------------
--G.Neville-----Campbell---Terry-------A.Cole--
--Beckham-----Gerrard----Lampard----Bridge
-------------------Owen------Rooney
The left wing axis of Cole and Bridge could mean that one could easily overlap the other and while the other defends. Therefore constanly changing and applying constant pressure.

I'd play:
--------------------------James-----------------------
Carragher-----Campbell----Terry---------Bridge
Beckham--------Gerrard---Lampard------Scholes
-------------------Owen----Rooney-----------------
I'm not a fan of either of the England fullbacks (especially Neville). -

Agree with Deano but Gary Neville for Carragher. But Stargazer, how the fuck can you miss scholes, that's stupid. You not see the through balls he does to Owen?!
