Bottega, sounds like the Swedish word "butik," so I'm pretty sure that means "shop"... "Gepetto's Shop/Store." I think that isn't French though, but Italian. (A google search confirmes this).

According to Altavista's Babelfish translation thingie, "Chalet" means "country cottage." "Marionnette" means, of course, "puppet."

"La Confiserie des Trois Fées" means "(the) Confectionery of the Three Fairies."

These are all names for Fantasyland, right? Why do you want them translated?

I know. I've reseached Disneyland Pairs to the core. I even bought this book, "Disneyland Paris: From Sketch to Reality" for $75. It was worth every penny.

They are names for the Pinocchio section of Fantasyland. I needed them translated because I speak English, not French (thank god). I'm researching the various Fantasylands for shops, restaurants, etc. and I couldn't get a good translation of the above. Thanks for that DJ.

Now I can finish mapping out Fantasyland and begin working on it.

Yeah, I got it about a month ago. I got mine from the Laughing Place store. It's an incredible book with amazing pictures and it really makes you think about how much thought goes into a Disney park.

First of all, the dollar sign goes BEFORE the number. Secondly, it's not at the DLR. In fact, this book is actually FROM France, so this second printing is basically an import in a way. I didn't even know about it until Imagineering came to USC's Architecture Job Fair and I caught a glance at it.

Just ask for it for Christmas.

I'm having some serious problems getting the Fantasyland theme down. Below is a screen of The Three Fairies Candy Shoppe in the Castle courtyard. How does it look? Any suggestions are appreciated (in advance: shut up steve ).

BTW, I haven't landscaped much yet so don't complain about there being too much path, it will be gone soon.

I think it looks quite nice, but it would look nicer if it were to "stick out" from everything else one more tile forward, to give it more it's own room and unique status. I'm loving the arches below the tower beside it though.

I think you should zero clearances and put a path under those grey arches on the right, looks strange with the land texture belox them. Your detail here is amazing though. Maybe put a little something on the arches, so they dont look plain agains the rest of the screen?

You are in the right direction. Search for European buildings on the web. Fantasyland (the improved one) looks like a European story book. Follow that line of archticture and you should be alright!

Remember, Fantasyland is the main part of the Kingdom. Make it detailed to the bone. Flowers, fountains, detailed buildings should all be in Fantasyland.

To add to what he said, Fantasyland is the HEART of the Magic Kingdom. From there, everything else is secondary. In Fantasyland, all of classic movies come to life. It is easily the most detailed land with tons of flowers and other sculptures, you should definately make use of the "river" idea from Disneyland Paris, and very beautiful European architecture.

Don't be afraid to experiment, but stay true to that one idea, that Fantasyland is the HEART of the Magic Kingdom. It would be neat if you included some of those never before seen Fantasyland rides that WDI never got off the drawing board (or past the budget cut stage ), such as the Little Mermaid dark ride, or the Beauty And The Beast animatronic show (there's a site with information on them if you want me to post it), and some other wonderful creations.
