Is that a good or a bad thing? lol10. John - just cause I never know what to expect....he's like a ticking time bomb IMO, just ready to blow up...

yeah, if you released a full park John, you would be my No. 1. You are definately the best architect in the game, in my opinion. -

Well, yeah.yep thats me in a nutshell
I didn't feel like explaining. Or it's open to interpretation. Think what you like Kumba. -

Its definitely a good thing, but it makes me nervous for some reason.... .....in fact, I don't even remember seeing any of your screens, but people talk about you all the time, so I'm confused.....I guess I'd call you a closet parkmaker....Is that a good or a bad thing? lol

I don't have a list, but, JKay should be on more of your lists and higher on the ones he's on. He's one of the few truly original parkmakers out there and I don't see how it isn't more appreciated. -

wow....and you know the funny thing is, you have been the most inspiring parkmaker here and you (combined with this website) are really what got me interested in RCT2.... Its almost like you provided me with an RCT2 object palette for my imagination to make parks I've only dreamed about, seriously.....words like that coming from you mean a lot to me, thanks a mil.....I don't have a list, but, JKay should be on more of your lists and higher on the ones he's on. It's all well and good saying that JKay is original, which he is. It's just that i don't like all of his work, regardless of originality. Most of it, i love. But there's the occasional area which isn't pulled off too well....
Still, i think he'll be a parkmaker before H2H3 is out... -

jkay has the potential to be one of the best parkmakers of the new generation. But, I haven't seen any convincing evidence of his coaster skills and his foliage is often poor. Basically, any one who thinks he should be a parkmaker is basing their opinion on his (wonderful) architecture. Remember, jkay can show what he wants to show with screens, ie, the best parts of the park, that is the architecture, but the few times he's shown a coaster it's looked slightly off to me. I think you guys should really wait until some of those parks of his get released before you make a concrete opinion. That goes with every potential parkmaker, because there's no point them being an NE parkmaker if all they're going to produce is screens (this isn't a criticism of jkay, I know he's finishing parks). -

This topic is about up and comers...I think JKay is one of the fastest rising parkmakers around, but I agree that not enough has been seen to make him a parkmaker yet. Just saying that he should be on more of the lists!
EDIT: From what I know of parkmaking, you can learn to make good coasters, but you can't learn creativity. I base most of my opinions on the creativity I see in people's work and when I see someone who really pushes the creative boundaries, those are the ones I think should be parkmakers (ie. cBass, Phatage, and now JKay [and TC if he sticks around]). These are the people who can push RCT in exciting new directions. If they have the creative building blocks, the other aspects of parkmaking can all fall into place from there. -

Once again Toon, I have to thank you for your kind word, but more importantly for the amazing scenery that you probably spent several hours making for much more than just your benefit.....it is really what got me into RCT2....I have so many ideas that I want to get out that it drives me nuts sometimes.....like I want to sit there and build, build, build non-stop....but I have learned that taking on a large RCT2 project is kinda like writing a college research paper.....you take a general idea/topic and refine it down to individual parts....do the research and begin writing the paper....but you cant sit down a write a good paper all in one night...its better to write one or two paragraphs, then in a day or so, come back and re-read it to check for mistakes or make any changes on parts you don't like.....
I agree that coasters can be learned, but creativity cannot....that is a very valid statement....For those that have seen my ThrillZone park, you'll agree that my theme ideas were solid and very creative, but the coasters/landscaping and some architecture show room for improvement.....if so, stay-tuned for ECLV, because its gonna be real....
If anyone deserves to be parkmaker right now its Phatage....he never fails to impress me. His resourcefulness and ability to take the games to their limits is what puts him in the parkmaker category for me....
anyway sorry for the ramble...thanks again everyone -

JKay...you earned my kind words.
As for Phatage, I just think of him as a parkmaker anyways. I'm sure the announcement is coming. For various reasons, he is the only person I would make a parkmaker if I had the power. -

His architecture his the best thing about him but his coasters are alright actually. The coasters in both FO and TZAP were quite well done IMO. The layout may be a bit odd in some places but overall they're fine.jkay has the potential to be one of the best parkmakers of the new generation. I agree jon, his coasters arent bad, but i would call them amazing. In both FO and TZAP most of his coasters seem to have a second lift, i know that 'Earthworm' is suppoesed to (for the type) but others like Python in FO have little lifts to get it over a hill, which comletely ruins the flow. If he can sort out small things like that, im sure (as toon said) he'll become a parkmaker eventually.
btw, anyone that hasent seen his thrill zone can PM him for a link. -

I haven't seen thrillzone... I will see it when it will be 'officially' released (we all have to wait for parks to be released)...
But I would like to see that though and his other parks, because judging from screens is not the way to judge if someone could be a NE Parkmaker...
Phatage will be the first parkmaker and he deserves it (as everyone knows by now)...
After Phatage I think iris waits till after the pro-tour with selecting new Parkmakers (if necessary)...
dunno who he will choose though and if he selects new ones...

I liked the old way people became parkmakers...
Some ace out of nowhere did something cool, and iris said "OMGWTF J00 ARE NOW PARKMAKER!!"
and that's how it should be again.
Afterall, NE is really just an overglorified rct club.
This new way is like "damn... now I have to put one of these people on the list..."

My list is...
1. Turtleman
TDF is always jaw dropping whenever I see a new screen.
2. Phatage
His work is always innovative. A different unique style that isn't so serious and "pretty" but always awesome.
3. Nemesis Chris - Deanosrs
A tie, because these two are possibly my favorites right now. Deano's new park is simply mind-blowing, and Chris' BGE is just lovely.
4.RCTNW
He's under-rated so much. I think of him as a mind-boggling architect, that just completely raises his game with each new park.
5.Metropole
Soul Calibur is so brilliantly composed. Although I never liked any of his past parks, I have to put him on this list for Soul Calibur. -

I'm not sure if i like this whole new parkmaker list and radar blips. Kinda like Blitz said, its more fun not knowing what iris is thinking, and then being somewhat surprised when someone becomes a parkmaker (ususally iris made a person a parkmaker before releaseing their 'parkmaker work' that got them the spot).
But w/e.
