For some, this might interest you. For others it won't, or you don't know who the hell he is.

I just wanted to post in tribute to the fallen leader of Nirvana, one of the premier alternative rock bands when I was your age, namely 17ish. I remember coming home from school, turning on the TV while fixing up a snack (as there was no track practice that day), and hearing the news on the dinky kitchen television. Di Linh and I were shocked (yes, we've been together since high school), as we both loved Nirvana and didn't know what to think.

Over the years since, tragedy would strike the music world again and again, with the losses of Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon, Layne Staley from Alice In Chains, Michael Hutchence of INXS, Mark Sandman of Morphine, and Jeff Buckley for example. None however, had the impact on most of us like the loss of K.C.

Thanks for reading, and if you have something kind to say, go ahead, but if you don't like K.C./Nirvana, please try to be respectful and refrain from bashing the subject matter.

    Kai :'(

RIP, Kurt. I don't recall specifically hearing of his death, but everyone I know remembers hearing Nirvana for the first time. It changed everything.

Judging by what's happened to his widow, perhaps it's best he bowed out when he did.

i never really got into nirvana or followed kurts' life, but he was a great gutairist and an excellent metaphoric song writer, so to fo those i say r.i.p. suicide is selfish, but somtimes theres only one person you have left to let down, and thats yourself.

Fucking great individual. Nirvana wasn't the greatest band in the world (Pearl Jam is better!) but there's no denying Kurt's talent. Or his mental state. It's a fucking shame. Can't help but feel bad for Frances Bean.

    He is missed.

PS- And as Kai mentioned, today is the 2-year anniversary of Layne Staley's death. Sad.

Actually, they found L.S.'s body on the 20th....still freaky that both were in April though.

We see how the Osbournes' kids turned out (yet with living parents)...makes me wonder how f-ed up Frances Bean's gonna be (yes, blame Courtney)...It's sad, and now that I also view the world from a parent's point of view, even more tragic than I would have thought 10 years ago.

Here's to wishing the best for the 'Bean.

I might be wrong, but I think they determined via the autopsy that his overdose occurred on the 5th. I'm not totally sure.

Surprisingly I didn't hear anyone mention it today. I was afraid I would have to deal with all those moron goth kids who worship Kurt run around saying that Courtney killed him ( ) but thankfully, it was not to be.

Nirvana were good. Alice in Chains were better.

no denying that he had some skill though.

    rip.

You know nothing. He was a genius.

I love "smells like teen spirit".

Its interesting when one person affects so many in thier life and death. And yes, its a pity he married courtney. Shes more fucked up then he is...

And then theres the child... :'(

Exactly Right. He used power chords excessively (fine, he did pioneer them...), but I don't realy see why he was such a great guitarist. He really had no skill out of the ordinary at guitar, i could play nearly all of his songs after just three months of learning. It was simple, but hey, simple doesn't mean bad, but if you add whiny vocals and drugged up lyrics to it, it is bad, imo.
