Well, I'm not sure if I'm back yet, but I am incredibly bored during this Spring Break, so I decided to re-install rct2 and have a lil go. This is what I've come up with...tell me what you think.
Comments/Suggestions welcome, but don't be a stupid ass. Remember, I'm a tad rusty, haven't played in months, lol.
They both are in this weird area that I can't really put a name on (theme wise)...if you can think of a theme name, that would be nice.
This one is a "simple" entrance, yet to me it's powerful...in it's simplicity...or yeah.

First screen is all aces. Looks real nice, soft colours, awesome stuff.
The entrance is pretty cool, but you need to lose alot of the water. Some water is nice, and the solo building thing in the middle is cool. -

Not any worse than Kumba! It looks OK. You over-used the Cycad Bushes.
The first screen is nice even though most the archetecture is a bit too far on the small and simple side for my tastes. The enterence looks good except for the fact that there is too much water. I love that building that is out there on it's own though. It's so cool!

1st pic - looks ok, you need to make your architecture bigger and more detailed.
2nd pic - the things you have in the pic is good but its WAY too plain. too much water like that doesnt look good -

God, I love your work. It's so elegant, for some reason. Tinted Shores is one of my all time favorites, and this looks quite nice.. I love how you rarely use trees. It's all bushes.. and it looks very detailed that way. I will need to see a more zoomed out version of the second screen to draw the conclusion that it is too plain. It looks fine to me, now. -

Wow...thx Jacko Shanty... Tinted Shores is my alltime favorite of my work.
But I do believe I'm more amazed with the fact that someone (you, obviously) understands my "work". It's almost scary, because I think gymkid's the only other one who'se done that before...lol. I might hit you up later when I'm lookin for some ppl to test it round and bounce round ideas. Thx for the positive comment
yeshli - Sorry that my buildings are not huge massive stick out - things... Some buildings that you can't see are larger, it's just that area is supposed to be cozy and small...almost village like. The whole "too much water" thing...in a close up picture I agree it does look a little boring, but I don't think you get the effect until you see the whole area. That's bad picture-taking on my part. I'll have to zoom out one to show the full effect.
ride6 - Yeshli virtually used your comments, so read above
CW- Thx
Divination - That's nice. Care to explain what I could do to make it higher than "OK"?
Thanx all. -

Rct Flame, you seen to always take pictures of a large amounts of water on screen.
I think it looks good. Simple, yet very pleasing to the eye. I say cut down on toon's bushes. Those are being so overused in everyone's parks it's getting very boring and starting to look ugly. I also hate those 1/4 trees with a passion.
Other than that, I think it's good. Keep up the good work. -

Wow! Been awhile since I have seen you.
So the screens...I like them. They are warm and intimate and to the point. Maybe you should add some taller plants/trees so it won't look so flat. Other than that, it looks fab! -

I totally agree with chesire there.
I like the first screen, its simple yet packs a nice atmosphere. The architecture is not overdone. The only comment about it really is about the water feature. It just looks too 'plain' and 'square' to me.
The second screen, i dont like it a lot, it looks very plain and very simple. The up-down roof looks like it will bee boring from any view. I have the same comment about the water feature being square here too, it just doesnt look right.
Overall its pretty good, and looks different to what people usually do, so props on that. -

It's a bit featureless for me. In the first screen, those egyptian walls clash with the marble and all the paths are at right angles. Could you explain your "work" so that we all might "get it", because at the moment I don't and it's annoying when people just sit there smugly going "I get it" when to me this park doesn't really stand out at all. -
deanosrs Offline
You make the paths on a diagonal plane.... I don't mean using TT's diagonal paths, but using the standard paths to travel in a diagonal direction often looks better imo. -

The first screen has some atmosphere, but I think the landscaping could use some variation, and I see some thin walls in there, maybe some balcony posts would look better there. The second screen bores me, I mean its quite redundant...like deano said, its kinda featureless....it does show potential however... -

I don't mind the amount of bushes. However I thing you should use some trees like the weeping willow or the 1k trees. -

I see what you mean deansors, I'll try to throw some of that in and see what it comes out looking like.
I'm not using any full tile trees in this area on purpose. Don't worry, the rest of the park will have trees, but I want the small architecture to stand out. I don't want towering buildings in this section...it's supposed to be more of a "quaint and cozy" village surrounded by water. Think Oberammergau (love that town, went there in 7th grade) meets roman-esk meets Venice (Venice comparison being the waterways. Expect some bridges over water). Expect a screen or two later today showing the entrance in it's fuller light plus a picture of the invert. -
Rct Flame Offline
Sorry to double post, but if you look at the first post, the second picture has changed...it's the same thing, but I added 2 small bridges....I think they make a big difference. -

I think you should actually build a path across it. But the way its lined up you'll have a gao, or wont be able to build at all. ? You could use toons 1/4 decorative blocks if there is a gap, and if you selected them that is -
Steve Offline
Just add some full tile trees or 1/4 tile trees and your golden.
I'm loving the colors though. Nice work.
