"Bilouxi Blues", for a WW2 comedy by a long shot....otherwise its either Pearl Harbor or Saving Private Ryan -

A bit shocked that a true classic was left out...
The Bridge On The River Kwai (1957)
An OSCAR winner for Best Picture among other things...one of my favorites, including a brilliant job by Sir Alec Guiness (more recently known for Obi-wan Kenobi in STAR WARS Episodes IV-VI).

I think Kwai is an excellent film, but it's not something I would consider among my favorites. Seen it twice, really lik it, but I really don't have much of a desire to ever see it again.A bit shocked that a true classic was left out...

The best WWII movie, though a series, is Band of Brothers. It is a very accurate movie.
Next would be Saving Private Ryan. It was a great story and had good fight scenes.
Enemy at the Gates. This was a great different approach to WWII movies, a sniper from Russia. It was great because it was based on a true story, propagandized of course, but a good story.
U-571/Das Boot. Both good WWII submarine movies. Lots of action and depth charges. I saw Das Boot a while ago I think so I don't remember as much about it.
Patton.
Schindler's List.
Windtalkers. A much needed tribute to the Navajo and a good movie.
Tora! Tora! Tora!.
Pearl Harbor. Though the side story was a bit much...the actual battle scenes were well done.
The Longest Day.
The Thin Red Line.
Midway. A lesser known WWII movie.
That made for TV movie about Hitler...I think it was called "Hitler" but I don't remember....it was pretty good although they picked the wrong guy to be Hitler.
The Bridge on the River Kwai. I put this low because it really was not an accurate movie...at all....but still is ok...
Anyway...there is my list...I might be leaving some off....I like to read about WWII and watch movies about it...I actually read [u]Band of Brothers[/b] long before the series came out...everyone should read the book... -

Certainly "Saving Private Ryan"
As for "Pear Harbor," would have been great with more action in place of the love story...
Let's see... there is a good, but old movie..."somthing or someone's Angels" cant remember the exact name. -
