while every review i've read has been positive, when they talk about the differences, it's disgusting. apparently there's no more comedy, no more satire, no more intelligence: just a well-executed slash-fest. sounds boring. -

I saw the movies at 12:01, and it was great!
I liked how it was just as much of a comedy as a horror flick.

I'm a big fan of the first Dawn of the Dead and zombie movies in general and even though I think sequels are bullshit and I'm ashamed to be giving them money, I am interested in seeing this. There's nothing wrong with a good action flick and most zombie movies rip each other off in some way or another. I wish they'd give it an original title instead of releasing it as a remake, but I'm still interested in a modern zombie film. And I continue to say that 28 Days Later is only partially a zombie film. The ending is straight out of 'I Am Legend' but the first half of that movie is more of a slow paced postapocalyptic survival story. Oh well. -

Until the lame ass Lord of the Flies-esque 3rd act... 28 Days Later was most definitely a zombie movie. -

Well, i saw it and it was pretty damn good! Zombies dont run at 60 mph (looks and yyo, sorry man, but please, if youre going to insult me, see it first and then give me an attitude about it, k?) Besides, since this is a remake, how is it different than the original, other than s.e., technology, and makeup; i mean the story line is the same, whats the big deal? ive seen both, and i really like both, each for different reasons, but ima go with the remake just because the zombies in this version dont walk like somnobulists or look like they have all been spray-painted blue. just my opinion, no flames. Although some parts were predictable, others were new and interesting like the other man on the roof (highlight if you want to know or not). And this one has a different ending (do it again if you want, just being polite, sorry). One of the retards when i was walking out with my buds was sayin its a takeoff of resident evil, moron. Id just like to point out, that if you are going to see DotD, see the original, please, for your sake and so you might not make yourself look like and ass, IMO. All in all, pretty good remake, of other recent remakes made. As one other has said before, good comedy and horror blend in it. See it, now! -

I saw it on Friday, and it was pretty good.. extremely gory. I missed everything before the beginning credits though because my friend showed up late.. so I didn't see the first 10 minutes.. did I miss a lot?
BTW.. I loved how the ending changed if you stayed throughot the end credits. -

Meh, I guess it depends what you focus on. There was that scene in the tunnel and some chasing and explosions early on but what stood out to me were all the quiet moments. Walking through the empty streets, talking in the apartment about finding a way out, shopping with that Grandaddy song playing on the soundtrack, picnicing in the grass field. It seemed more about that desperation of lonliness and the contradictory feelings associated with the end of civilization. The zombies provided the background but they were an after thought to the main story as it played out (which is why that sudden left turn ending was especially disappointing).Don't fool yourself.

I don't have a review for you all and probably won't for 2 weeks and here is why.
I get to the theater with my mom(becasue I thought she'd have to sign somthing so I could see it which is stupid) and I ask the ticket girl for 1 ticket to see Dawn of the Dead and she's like, " How old are you?" I said "15." then she says "Will you be seeing by yourself?" and I'm like "Yes." while thinking she is gonna ask my mom to sign something since it is rated R, then she says " 0h sorry, you have to be 17 or older or have an adult see it with you.". Once she said that I'm thinking WTF?, so me and my mom left. I talked it over with my om and she said she would take me in 2 weeks when we will have more spending money by then and see it with me as long as I payed for her to see it, she would pay for the drinks and snacks. So I hope it will be in that theater still by then.
Imo this whole thing on Rated R movies about people 17 or younger having to have is stupid, I could understand 8-13 but a 15 year old having to have his parents with him to see a rated R movie with him?! THAT IS FUCKED UP. What is this world coming to?
Well hopefully in 2 weeks I can see it if it is still in the theater by then.
EDIT: Whoops forgot to edit my post with this. -

You're going to see this with your mom?! Jesus, your mom will probably disown you afterwards - not to mention.. it will be very awkward thorughout the nude scenes. Yuck. I would just wait until it comes out on DVD or get an older friend to take you. -

I've gotten in to R-rated movies with friends of mine that are 17. I just have them buy my ticket. -

First off, I will say I haven't seen the widest range of zombie movies, but I really enjoyed this one. Its just flat out entertaining, there is a decent amount of comedy mixed in which makes it all the better. They almost seem to mock their situation at times when they aren't being chased down. I would recommend the movie.
