You're just upset because Myttica was monumental, just like you like it, and this is not! :D
  • Coaster Ed%s's Photo
Yeah, you've got me figured out Cork. :D But am I wrong to call for moumental architecture in this case? You can make buildings as elaborate as you want in RCT, it's all free, so why not make them all monumental? I suppose it's a question of artistic intention and everything and people are praising your uncanny replication of a boring hotel ;) but I just don't understand why you wouldn't want to make every building as impressive as possible. Sometimes it's the collective look thats important not the individual parts. I guess that's the case here but what do you expect when you show a screen of one building? I'm going to evaluate how impressive it is on its own. When I see the whole thing in the park and its surroundings maybe my opinion will change. Until then I'm just going to assume you're being lazy.

Not enough detail?...In case you didn't read the whole topic., I started over completely with it. C'mon Cork, you should know better. Now, the 'doors' aren't that great of windows, but I guess it's your park, so don't listen to me. Plus it looks a little plain and simple.

    helpless

Corky, you made Myticca Resort. You can do better than this. The walls are flat and uninteresting. That comment about there being too many doors and windows I think has to do with the lack of anything else. It's not horrible or anything, it is a hotel and not every hotel needs to be superfancy. On the other hand, I think if you're going to go to the trouble of putting a hotel in your park, or any large building for that matter, it should be impressive looking. Flat square buildings, even if the colors are pretty, are not impressive looking. Maybe you have some fancy architecture major reason why you chose to make this hotel simple and boxlike when you could have done more with it. But in the absence of any reason, I'm expecting more from you.

Thats basicly what I was trying to say, just not as in depth as Ed as done. :yup:

Doesn't mean you got better... and if you did, show us and prove me wrong. That would be your best way to triumph. Of course, if you show us another Six Flags type park, well, I'll just conveniently think lesser of you.

As far as the door-windows go, that's really a stylistic preference, so I'm not going to argue because that would just be useless.
  • Richie%s's Photo
Personally i think those doors look fine. Doors are used like this in loads of parks, and don't you think it would plain if there were just plain boring windows in their places?
  • Geoff%s's Photo
they can be used as doors or shutters. In this case they are shutters.
  • Steve%s's Photo
If you also hadn't noticed, Corkscrewed using doors as windows is somewhat of his...um..."trademark" so to speak. I mean, look at Cloverfield Grove. Probably every building in that park has a door as a window. Not that its a bad thing Corky. :D

A glimpse of one of the little corners within La Mediterranea... The Venice Gondolas can be seen. Many restaurants and shops lie within the towering cosmopolitan buildings, and the Mediterranean flavor seems to bubble around the air. The atmosphere of this sprawling yet charming area is second to none, and it makes for a fitting entrance into the park.

The Walt Disney Escape Resort has quickly become the most popular tourist destination in Spain, attracting over 12 million guests a year. DisneySEA Escape will only further cement this popularity, and its Disney quality will ensure that Disney remains a dominant force in Europe for many years to come.

It's ok, not great. Too much dullness to the left and aweful green and reds to the right. Those building are too much red and green to take in at once.

This doesn't look very Venezian either.
  • Coaster Ed%s's Photo
Nice looking buildings. This is the Cork I've been waiting to see. That building with the yellow balconies is so simple and yet one of the best looking buildings I've seen in awhile. Go figure.
  • Geoff%s's Photo
that red building and the green one are the ones that stand out the most. Nice :)
  • Chesire%s's Photo
    I'd hit it!
  • Evil WME%s's Photo
    a green building? ...

    ...

    ...next to a red building?

this isn´t christmas darling, looks awful.
  • Meretrix%s's Photo
    Those awnings look yucky.

I'd get rid of 'em if I were you. (So sayeth the pot to the kettle)

    More shrubbery please.
  • Cygnet%s's Photo
It has a real mediterranean feeling, but maybe you can at some more detail to the walls, by adding some of Fisherman's or Makonix stuff.

And i've to agree with Evil WME with the green next to the red building, it doesn't look nice at all.
  • penguinBOB%s's Photo
all the buildings on the left are drab and boring colors, and on the right, too contrasty.

just mix the colors and maybe textures up a bit, and it'll be good.
  • Coaster Ed%s's Photo
 Everyone liked the other screens except me and now I'm the only one who likes this screen.
  • Corkscrewed%s's Photo
 Well, I've known for a while that you can't please everybody... but I usually used that adage on whole parks, not simple screenshots!

Anyway, that's probably one of the less glamorous shots of the area and the park. If there's one thing to be optimistic about, it's that at least I'm not showing the best parts of the park (IMO) and not overhyping this one! ;)
  • x-sector%s's Photo
best screen yet I personally think. the buildings look great and the colours work well. this captures the look of the really section in tokyo disneysea (I look at those pics for hours)
