I REALLY don't understand how people can like SFWoE and not like this.
That had ideas, but it had no atmosphere at all.  This has alot of atmosphere while still being 'realistic'.

I didn't say it has no atmosphere.

In fact, the screenshot has a lot of atmosphere, which is Corkscrewed's strong point. It has a very Disney-like atmosphere, yet that could be enhanced with more thought in architecture.

I agree with Metro, this park just dosen't work for me.

I can tell how all the buildings were built. They look to simple instead of being elaborate and the colors are ok but not really up there.
One thing I like about your park is the atmosphere, it is just amazing, along with your landscaping.
I like the yellow rails on the abstract walls and the towers with space pod on it.
Get rid of the fountain supports some how if you can, they just look out of place , but if you can't I understand.

I do you look forward to more screens, hopefully better ones. :)

I'm really starting to lose count of these comments. You allowed to have your opinion, but really, we all know what you thought of something I completed about 3 months by now. However you do motivate me to release more work just to see what you say about it.

I see what you're trying to do with your inspiration Cork, but I think if you're going to use the Disney Sea pics you posted earlier as inspo, you should add some more light brown to the area, and kill the dark blue altogether. I don't know what to think other than that as the screen looks incomplete.

That wasn't meant how you took it, I think. If people like SFWoE for it's rides and accept the architecture, why can't people like this park for its atmosphere and accept the architecture? If that makes sense?

Instead of focusing on the small components that make up the building, look at the area as a whole. I don't think any other style of architecture would be as fitting. You don't need to make it complex or the "LL" style that has become a fad lately to make it look good. I guess it's just refreshing from the dullness of the resurrected LL-meets-RCT2 style.

The buildings are realistic. If you really think about those are the kind of buildings you would find in a theme park.

    I like it.

You really have to get the supports under those fountains to go away... somehow.
  • Ride6%s's Photo
Personally I find this great. It's easy one the eyes; the color, tree and texture selection screams futuristic without looked dated. Of course I would love to see more of stuff like those towers you got in the water, they're awa inspiring. The only thing I really dislike is those shitty fountian supports, they ruin the refinement of the screen and disrupt the flow of perfection.

Otherwise I have no complains. After all if you took a rought that everyone can agree is futuristic.

I accept that this screenshot has atmosphere. And a lot of it, but I feel that the architecture detracts from it slightly. I know he doesn't go for uber-detail or anything, and good on him for that, but I feel that he could put a little more into the architecture to create a perfect atmosphere. And I've certainly never seen a glass and aqua metal rectangular structure in a park Dragon Fly.

I will shut up now, because I believe it is your style, and you would not want to change that. So keep it up.

Each update keeps getting better and better. Discovery harbor is looking very nice. the colours are perfect for the area and I like the architecture. I want to see more of the area. the attraction, shows, resturants and shops sound great. good work on this excellent park.

To be completely honest, I really don't like that screen for reasons that people have already mentioned.

However, I'm definitely reserving judgement - this looks like a park (like sfwoe) that is 10x better in game than in screens.

    :yup:
As Metro mentioned, Corky could do is put a little more into his buildings but if that is your style then I ain't gonna stop you from building that way.

I was talking with Iris about this last night...

I think Corky's parks are more about the sum of the parts than the individual bits and pieces. Thus, I always feel like his screens never really do his parks justice. It like taking a picture of the left elbow of a beautiful woman. Yeah, the screen doesn't really come across as anything spectacular, but it's the idea of how what you see goes into the whole of the park that is actually exciting. I'm sure the atmosphere of DSS will be spectacular and that to me is what Corkscrewed is about.
  • Disney Freak%s's Photo
I think I know what you're trying to go for and it looks alright. I don't think we're getting the "whole picture" with this one! Maybe show a different part? (No, I'm not trying to squeeze another screen) 8@
  • Richie%s's Photo
I dont feel any disney with it at all, although its not too good to compare with Meretrix's work, if you look at both you can see a clear difference. Im not saying one of you is better than the other just different. Corkscrewed's looks much more simple, and thats often a good thing. I like the colours used in the last screen, but i dont see/feel the disney in it.

Do you have a layout of the park drawn in paint or something? It could be interesting to see.

Wow! I got Toon to talk about me!

    *celebrate*

Anyway, I appreciate the comments, even if they are negative. Hopefully, the park itself will pleasantly surprise you, and if not, oh well. It's not the end of the world. The main thing is that I personally am happy with it and that's important to me. I don't believe you should make a park just to impress other people or have others like it.

BTW, the "brown shrubs" are supposed to be rocks. Use some imagination, geez! I mean, RCT 1 had substitute items. :p

Ive just looked at the screen again and i love those abstract fences. I didnt notice those yesterday. And i the brown bushes look fine, i didnt notice those yesterday either.

Guests wandering around this isle may be struck with awe as they suddenly encouter an enormous relic of a crane abandoned from long ago. It is just one of many artifacts to be found here in this land.

The Walt Disney Escape Resort has quickly become the most popular tourist destination in Spain, attracting over 12 million guests a year. DisneySEA Escape will only further cement this popularity, and its Disney quality will ensure that Disney remains a dominant force in Europe for many years to come.

The crane looks great! Nice update! Will you try to build those round roofs found in that area or are you going for a different style?
