General Chat / Iguana Issues

Ok i have 3 large Iguanas, (about 3 1/2 feet long) 2 boys and a girl, when they where young they were happy living togeter, but as the males got older they started to fight, im guessing this was over the female. anyways, it soon got to the point where the older male would have killed the younger male, so i made another cage and decied to keep the older male with the female, in a hope that they would breed (she has laid eggs, just non-fertill ones)

So now about 3 years after they were split up, the older male keeps getting out looking for the younger one to kill him. not long ago he got to him and did a bit of damage to the younger male. that was the only time he got in the cage, but they get out a lot and go after each other, the big problem with that is they are so fixed on killing each other they rip up their face's trying to get pasted the cage wires.

Also I have had no luck getting them to mate. the older males got 2 fuckin dicks and cant get the job done (yes they have 2) so that sucks.

Anyways to the point. yesterday it got into the 50's (50 deg) and when it gets that cold I bring them inside, where i keep the Older male and the female in a spare bathroom and the younger male in my shower, coz thats too cold for a lizard to be outside. well also yesterday the big guy got out and went to kill the other one, and when trying to escape the young one messed up his face really bad, id say he lost 1/4 inch off his nose. so i decied to make it up to the younger one by for the first time in years putting him with the female. I thought this mite lead to a fight so i stayed with them. She seemed happy to see him and even licked him. so i let them be.

Now this mourning i get up, see him on top of her biteing her neck, he was trying to mate with her. it seem to go well ontill he got a bit to ruff and she tried to bite him. i split them up for a bit and now they are ok togeter.

So if i keep them togeter I mite end up with Iguana babys, they lay from 20 - 55 eggs that go for 20$ a pop, so i really want babys. so should a take the female away from the older male that shes been with for her whole life?

Interesting, I would keep the older one with the female. The younger one may still be too young? ???
  • Kumba%s's Photo
hes about 8 years old and able to mate, the oldest is probly 9 or 10, same for the female

Shallow women always go for the younger guys anyway.

Kinda funny that the older one wants to kill the younger one. If the younger one mates with the girl, I wonder how much more the older one will want to kill him....

I'd go with young + girl if you want babies. I guess.

i would suggest plexi glass insted of the wiring. wont tear them up as much and heavier so it would be harder for them to get out the cages.

Your younger iguana likes iilf's. Haha.

There shouldn't be any problem between the two and the eggs. This happens naturally in the wild, pretty sure of this too since my grndfather is the president of a company that gives and creates medicine for america and europe.

Yeah. I was gonna suggest that. Wiring seems like a bad idea unless you cant ceep iguana's in plexiglass cages or something.

    I want 2 dicks.

Yeah, put the younger one with the female. Get rid of the older one. He is psycho.

And please get plexi glass cages because wire cages is just stupid.

plexi glass is out of the question, it can make the cage way to hot in the Miami heat down here, plus i made the cage's myself and they are not going to waste. he'll be fine im treating the cut.

the female will need to go back with the older male when it warms up, my sister the owner of the female has over-rule'd me

What if the cage was plexi where the walls were but wire on the ceiling and ground?

    UPDATE: Iguanas 57% don...wtf am i sayin....ah..

ok i just put them back outside, older male with the female, it does not seem like Iguanas can smell each other coz if so they be going mad tryin to kill each other. but that older asshole took about 5 huge shits all over my spare bathroom and i almost passed out when cleaning it, then my dad was useing the bathroom where i had planned to take a shower, i tryed cureing him out but he was not going anywhere, so i had to use my shower with the 2 other iguanas in it :|

    i was not happy :@

oh yeah, i must have been cut over 100 times, i cant even hold them without getting rip'ed up, all i can do is carry them, and pet them, but their are still risks coz they can also: whip, bite, and kick.

here are the last pics i have of them....
