I understand exactly what you are saying...Trees and stuff are never permanent and I will edit things over and over if needed. About the theming, I also understand what your saying. In that pic, its just a square path with a hole in the middle where the ride and theming is...however, in that undeveloped area directly below the ride is an area where I'm working on that kind of theming, integrating a log flume with some theming that is really an area, not an island inside paths. The entrance and midway of this park is alot like that...just islands and such, but done so on purpose. The midway is just the gateway to everything else, which will be more elaborate and complex. please don't take in to many suggestions. first of all half of the people making them don't know what they're talking about, and most of the other half will want to put you in the NE style box. This is everything but NE style, and that's part of what makes it so unique and wonderful. The 1st pics big building is one of the best buildings i've seen in a while, and the whole thing looks very refreshing. Nice flowering, treeing, small paths, homely buildings, keep up the good job. -

I was concerned I might make this too much like NE stuff...I take in relevant comments if they make sense to me, but I wanna make sure this is my style, because thats the only way anyone will enjoy it. I honestly don't think I could make NE type parks as well others do, because my style has always been different, and hopefully will always be different. Peace-STS -

Ok...I thought I might finally release the theme of this park...This is a bit long...so, here goes:
In the 17th century a German merchant, Herr Lothar, struck it big when he was employed by the Vatican in Rome. It was necessary, however, that he move to Italy to perform his duties. A few miles outside Rome he built a rather large German settlement for his family. The locals felt threatened by this gesture and organized a group to set fire to the house. Herr Lothar and his wife Jenny, were killed, while their only son, Gregory was saved by a young maid. Gregory, being only 5 at the time, was taken back to Germany where his relatives resided. There he grew with his aunt and uncle till they too died of fever, and at the age of 17 he was left stranded. Gregory became apprentice to a cobbler, and he worked for food and lodging. Some years later he was informed by a distant cousin of his father's fortune, and that he was, of course, the rightful heir. Upon receiving his newfound fortune, Gregory set out into the backwoods of the Black Forest. There he cleared a large plot of land and began buiding an exact duplicate of the house in Italy that burned to the ground. After some time of construction, the settlement was complete, and Gregory had wed a girl from the north. Soon a small colony was started, with a few families residing under the shadow of Gregory's castle. They even erected a small Lutheran church that filled every Sunday with manservants, maidens, and even the occasional pilgrim on his way to the coast.
In the dead of winter Gregory lay in his room alone, with his wife at a nearby social gathering for women, and the servants given the a night off. As Gregory lay on his bed with the hearth growing dim in the far corner, he grew cold of a sudden, and saw a dark figure slide toward him.
"Speak now, strange friend, and who art thou?" spoke Gregory with a shiver.
There was no reply, instead the figure moved adjacent his bed and sat down on a chair nearby. Gregory sat up and moved to the back of the bed.
"Who art thou?" he demanded. There was silence, then a hiss as the figure opened his mouth.
"I am he that hath no need of address, for I am known to all flesh," the figure said at last.
"Thou art a devil to intrude at this hour; speak your will and be gone!"
"Ah, devil indeed, for such I am," he hissed, "and such will you be. And indeed, the two sat juxtapose each other, Gregory desiring earnestly that he might leave, yet it had him wound around its finger, and he could not bid it leave. Thrice before midnight did the devil meet him, and mock him with impending doom, and threaten his existance saying "beware him the knocketh three times, for such is your doom." But behold, thrice also did an angel appear to him after midnight, for Gregory did not sleep. The angel did warn him, saying, "Beware he that knocketh a fourth time, for he bringeth evil tidings and doth seek to kill thee." And with this the angel departed, leaving peace in the room.
The morning did soon wain, yet Gregory was already awake, for he did not sleep. And lo, his wife had ne'er come, and the morning light shone upon him in bed alone. As he arose he became aware that the door that had been closed and latched before was now wide open, and latch still unbroken. He proceeded downstairs where no servant rose to give him breakfast, for they had not yet returned. Upon taking a biscuit or two, he began to climb the stairs once again, but he was stopped by a sudden knocking on the front door. He froze motionless, for indeed he could not bid his body move. He stood for some time, and at last his body began to obey his commands, and he took one step upward. But Lo! yet another knock was heard, and room echoed its call throughout the house.
"Who goes there," he called, breaking the dreaded silence. No reply, yet a little light shone through the keyhole. Shortly after while he still stood, a third blow fell, this one more aweful then the former two. A shadow grew, and the light that shone through the keyhole vanished. "Beware him the knocketh three times, for such is your doom." The demon's words rang through his head. Indeed, here was his doom, for there was a shadow, and now through the house was a faint cry, as one being chased by some spectral image. Yet soon hereafter a fourth knock was heard, and the shadow lifted, and cry vanish. Instead, he paushed, thinking for moment his ears decieved him. But no, these sounds were true, for his wife did laugh without the door. There was light now gleaming through the keyhole, and he began to climb down.
"Who is without the door?" he asked.
"Why Gregory, it is I! Open the door Gregory, for I desire to see thy face," she laughed. Yes, it was her voice that he heard, and but for a moment he reached to open the door, but now he remembered, "did not the angel of God warn against this? Yea, but lo, I must have missed the first knock, for the last was surely the evil that awaited me. Now, my wife stands without the door and knocketh, is she a servant of death? Nay, be it not so, and it is not so. I know her voice, and there is yet no deceit in it." And on this reasoning he opened the door, and his wife did indeed stand without, yet in her hand was a parchment, and she lifted it to Gregory.
"It is your contract," said she.
"Contract? Pray thee, tell me whenst I signed this?" And as he stood facing her, he noticed he she wore no longer a smile, but a defiant look. Her eyes grew red, and hands rough. He stood amazed, for here in front of him was not his wife, but the same spectral demon he saw during the night.
"You have done well, young Gregory, for thou hast signed with thy blood upon the door." And as Gregory stood, he saw his fist wreathed in blood, and turning saw the door, and the nails through it which pierced him.
"O God! he cried to the sky, behold, save me this evil! For this night I have unknowingly sold my soul to the devil!" cried Gregory on his knees. Yet now the angel did again appear, saying
"You sold it not unkowingly, for did I not warn you during the night? Yet you heeded not what was said, and hast now sold thy soul."
In January 2004, a relative of Gregory bought the same land where Gregory lived. He built everything exactly as it was, and is building a theme park based on the life of Gregory. The town will feature state-of-the-art rides and shops, restraunts, etc...The hardest challenge will be, however, depicting the last night of Gregory's life...
I am basically making the town, and then there will be different sections based on his meeting with the devil and meeting with the angel...I'm going to be experimenting for a while how I can portray the two different realities, (spiritual and physical, though the spiritual will have a dreamlike quality). I want to make the distinctions VERY different, but yet not corny. This may or may not work, but we'll see. -

Alright Here is a New Screen Critique away. Also, these screens are part of the town/theme park area...the center of the park is the realistic part with very real looking buildings, but as you go further away they get less realistic and more fantastical...I probably won't put pics of the devil/angel areas on here either...BTW, the Park name is...well, its initials are incidentally CP...Peace-STS
