Ask the Experts / Landscape Editor To Scenerio

  • Son Tested Shelter%s's Photo
I have done stuff with the landscape editor with scenery and such, but after I save scenerio and try to load it the error trapper pops up saying the error location is unkown. Anyone know whats up? I can't get my stuff from Landscape Editor out right now (that I know of) and its really bumming me out cause theres some good stuff there and hours of work put into it that I don't wanna have to try and repeat. Peace-j

Exact same thing happened to me on my park....and it took me FOREVER to find out what it was, it was such a BITCH :@ ...

Try deleting all paths that touch the owned/unowned fenceline & make sure that the only paths that are between the owned/unowned land are the paths leading through your entrance gate(s). At first I thought it had something to do with the scenery in my workbench, but after MUCH trial & error, determined that it simply has to do paths on unowned/owned land.

One other thing....make sure that when you click the option "Go to ride selection" (the one right before landscape editor) that you click the back arrow to go back to landscape editor and make sure that RCT2 did not make any changes to the owned land you've selected....on my park, it would automatically change some land that I wanted to be owned to unowned which would cause error trappers.....

Hope this helps.....let me know if you don't understand. :D

I've had this problem before, and I'm having it again now. And yes, it sucks.

Besides JKay's suggestions, you might want to look at your object selections. The game doesn't like it if you remove certain scenery from the selection screen, or if you don't include one of the common tabs. I suggest adding some of the bushes back and see if that helps.

this has caused me trouble too. I have yet to solve it, which has halted my delfino park... but i will try some of your suggestions! ;)

Well I did remove many of the standard bushes and stuff in favor of more custom things. I will try putting them back in. Hopefully someone will find the solution to this problem soon. Peace-j

    Has it worked?

    Same thing happened to me.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure it's something in the scenery, since my map is just a flat, empty map.

Ahhh. Therein lies your problem. You HAVE to keep at least one object in each of the required themes [the ones you can't uncheck]. If you don't do that, you'll always get the error trapper.

What you keep doesn't have to be one of the original objects, but you must have at least one object available for selection in each of those themes.

    Hmmm...Ok, I'll make sure I do.

    Had this problem, too.
I just renamed everything and it worked.
I had gone back and fourth a few times, ya know saved as scenerio and then loaded like I was gonna play it....tested the landscape...then when I went to save it the final time, I told the game to replace the old scenerio with my final draft version, but it keep giving me the same msg.

So I just changed the name of the scenerio, and changed the tab it was loaded in (Other Parks, Real Parks....etc....) I then loaded fine.

I know it sounds silly, but it's worth a try....can't hurt.

    Good luck!

    Rohn Starr was right.

I solved my problem by choosing an item for all the necessary groups:
    Trees
    Bushes
    Gardens
    Fences and Walls
    Walls and Roofs

I'm not sure if you have to pick one other theme as well instead of all custom scenery, but I did and it worked anyway.

I did what Rohn Starr said and also put 2 items in to researchable column for the rides, and it worked. Hopefully it will help folks with this problem.

I had that happen again with the landscape I was working on for the Depot's Valentines contest.....I renamed it and it was fine. I had loaded it a few times to test as a Scenaro...then the last time I loaded it to build the rides when it asked it I wanted to overwrite the older one I said yes, and it gave me the error...so I renamed it and that fixed it.
