For those who read my last post...I stuck my neck out too far and had it promptly severed by the social guillotine. Thanks, because at least I found out what I needed to work on. The Hope is for me that I may become better, and Appologies to You because I was stupid. For those who gave constructive criticism, thank you. For those that flamed, I would normally say thats immature, but who am I to point fingers because I did the same thing! =D So that project is currently being put on hold, but I did d/l some custom scenery (and found out how to use it) and ideas have been flowing. So I've started (bare minimums) a new park. This will, however, be more RCT 2ish and I will work on what was said. I already have a few things there that I think--well Polix would make it breathtaking, I can't say yet if I can do the same. Anyways, for those that DID like that stuff, this new park will contain some of that, but also some of the new stuff that I'm working on. I don't think I could get rid of it anyway, cause old habits die hard. To clear something up also, I didn't ever copy anyone's style =D I have a very definite style of my own that can be seen on Four Towers and Lone Star Theme Parks, even though they are both rather poor I suppose in comparison with what is being put out now. Don't even worry about it, you're just a new guy. You didn't do anything wrong. Just hang out and have a good time and you'll fit right in. You should probably download the new Pro Tour Workbench. I haven't looked at it yet, but I'm sure Toon included all the custom scenery you'll need. Play around with that stuff and look at what other people have come up with lately. These are some good places to start:
Hi-Rollers Entries (get the RCT2 ones)
H2H2 RCT2 Parks:
Purple Pill Heights
Villa de Lumieres
Othello
Maude Flander's Praiseland
The Myttica Resort
Check out Kumba's Pro Tour Summary for links to the entries for that contest. A lot of those are RCT2 parks.
Definately download these RCT2 spotlights too if you haven't already:
Rivers of Babylon
Euroscape
Disney's Tilted Acres (WW Only)
Aero's Wormwood
Some other notable RCT2 Parks:
Fantastic Wonders
Wisconsin
Next Element Challenge Winners
There's a lot more, but these are at least most of the essentials. You can look at the screens in the Ad. District too for more of an idea on what people are doing. And don't worry that you aren't as good as the masters. Everyone starts somewhere. -

What's so great about Othello? I hate it, so, so much. It's ugly as hell. Kai knows that, that I hate it/think it's ugly, so that shouldn't come as a shock to him, but ya... the rides were less than sub-par itself. Was it the idea (which wasn't that great, Ogre did the same thing before, both results were identical). Bah. I dunno...
Otherwise, that list is perfect. -

Well it was nominated for a creativity award. I didn't think it would be right to leave it out. -

Well...Yea I'm new here, but not to RCT and not to forums. I sometimes do stupid things, and its unfortunate that we only get one chance to make a first impression. So I looked like some 14 year old newb, and I'm rather quite the opposite, but that is done. Thanks anyways, just d/l RoB. -

That is your opinion.Don't even worry about it, you're just a new guy. You didn't do anything wrong.

^And that is the exact reason people bitch about NE. There are some great parkmakers at sites like rct2.com that won't come here because they feel it is rude and unwelcoming.. forget all that "freespeech" BS.. it's about manners.
It's just like High School.. people with their little cliques that think they're cooler than the new kids. At least he appologized and acknowledged the fact that he was acting newb-like. -

Micool, please stop it. All you have done lately is comment on people's behavior, which is very hypocritical since you're telling us to stop doing the same thing. Is there anyone you haven't hated?
If you don't like what someone has to say, ignore it. I'm getting tired of you starting situations that would have else been fine had you not decided to poke your head in and give things a go.
I'm not going to reply to anything else you say in this topic, so don't bother trying to call me childish or anything else of the sort.
------
Son Tested Shelter, I appriciate the apology you've sent out to everyone, but for some people it might still not be enough. Don't worry, just give yourself time and I'm sure you'll regain respect. Now get back to your parkmaking. -

Yeah, stop, because I love you, Micool (to give an example for people I don't hate)Micool, please stop it.
I don't even hate Jaster. His apology just didn't strike me as honest, that's all. -

Funny, struck me as honest. But I'm more willing to believe in the good nature of people.
Just cut him some slack. He's been pretty polite throughout this whole ordeal. -

That's why NE is da shit tho.....I personally can't stand RCT2.com & the depot.....everyone is TOO nice, it's like they are all on Zoloft or something. All their posts are the same; "Awesome!!! Can't wait for more screenies!"; and shit like that....I would much rather someone say your park looks like ass than lie to make me feel good saying it looks excellent...THATS what kicks ass about NE, that is once you've been "broken in" here, kinda like STS is in this topic....^And that is the exact reason people bitch about NE. Nice list Ed, I hope it proves useful to parkmakers looking for some inspiration/education for the RCT2 game. I'd include cBass' Infestation as an example, but perhaps that's too advanced of a lesson to offer up at first...most of the PT Hotel round entries (especially Roger's and the Hacienda one) showcase nice architectural lessons, albeit without coaster interaction...
LMAO at Brent, whose Othello hatred always amuses me. I'm not going to defend a conceptual park, 'cos well, there's no point, and that was 9 mos. ago anyway. Concept parks (what I tend to build mostly) are naturally hit or miss. You either get it/like it, or don't.
Enjoy, and best of luck to all aspiring parkmakers!

Posix...I meant it honestly, though I don't blame you for being skeptical because this is a forum and you have no way of knowing anything that I say is true. I'm not trying to ride a wave of crowd pleasing by changing my views everytime someone disagrees with me. I will not make any outlandish (and foolish) claims from here on out. Since respect is deserved, I will be quiet and treat others as I would want to be treated. Peace-j[font="tahoma"]Yeah, stop, because I love you, Micool (to give an example for people I don't hate)

(man I don't know if I'll ever outlive this Jaster name...I took that nick on when I was 13-14 I think haha =D ) -

The interesting thing about Othello was that when I saw it (making the screenie for it before it was posted), I was like, "Oh shit... that thing's gonna win," even though our park was definitely better in quality.Nice list Ed, I hope it proves useful to parkmakers looking for some inspiration/education for the RCT2 game.
