This is only my 3rd or 4th attempt at a proper park. It is also the first park i have attempted any type of building/architecture.
Most things in my webshots album -=>Here<=- are subject to change. Let me know what you think.
If the above link doesnt work -=>Click Here<=- and then look at the Palm Springs Album. -

What would you suggest? Please dont forget that i have never really attempted any architecture before.AAAAAGH!!! WOODEN ROOF OVERLOAD...

Whoa, this is sweet!
It's very park-ish, I love that. Unique at the same time because you haven't been influenced that much yet.
Gah, I really repeat myself lately. Anyway, you seem talented in my eyes. The coasters as well are very promising. I wouldn't change a thing so far. Keep up the great work.
EDIT: I saw the waterfall after I posted. It's one of the best I've ever seen. -

Please, Mr Disney, be a little more...detailed?needs landscape
Richie - I like the wooden roofs. And the railway, too. The customs for the steel coaster look well done, but I think it would be cool if you had some water around that queue line - to make it look even more dingey! -

I can really see an outstanding park in the making. I can tell alot of the parts are not complete, but the coasters look good. I love the woodie
The waterfall like posix said is fantastic!!
The hotel is the only thing I don't really like. I don't like blood red and white clashes together. I know alot of people do though, but sorry to say I don't.
Well keep up the good work
P.S. It's amusment not amusant. lol -

Very impressive!!...I've actually seen your work be4 over at the depot and have always liked it. Your archy & coaster work show you do have major parkmaking potential. The only things I dislike are those curved glass roofs you've used and that the wood roofs could maybe be replaced with some more modern looking roofs to really benefit your park atmosphere. Oh, and you might want to see if a mod will correct the spelling of "amusant" in the topic subject, its quite tacky......Otherwise, its wonderful & I will definitely look forward to updates on this park. -

Sorry I didn't know that the name had already been used, I'll change it once i think of a new name.http://www.nedesigns...kers&a=view&p=7 (First Park)
Sorry bud.
Thankyou all for positive replies, after the first couple i thought it was going to be hell.
I'll list things that i dont like myself:
- I don't like the station to the tramway, it looks like the roof is floating
- the hotel because it takes up too much space in such a small park, it will be removed to make way for the parks 3rd coaster
- Silencers custom supports, i couldnt get the supports close enough to the track, so i need to use zero clearances to get that to work (correct me if theres another way)
- Castle walls around the top of some of the buildingsin the main area
- Gold fencing in the main area (what colours would you suggest, i had black before gold)
- Log flume entrance, i removed the log flume track because it looked terrible
- Tunnel entrace near silencers station
- Silencer's station, which is what i want to sort out next
- Entry to 'village of silent whispers'
- MY terrible scenery selection when making the scenario!
I will post an update a bit later of Silencer's station -

As far as I'm concerned... you have what you need to get very good at this game. That's the ability to look at your own parks and criticise them - a lot of the things you list I also don't like. What you need now is the determination and persistance to not only spot them, but solve these problems in your work... good luck -

Updated que line with water as suggested above.
New station to silencer - it still may change
My webshots album is -=>> HERE <<=-

I like the station for Silencer - and good job on the queue line too, it looks really creepy. I think you've got a good theme with that station - it'd be cool to see it extended more around the coaster, like a whole facility. If you were thinking of theming it otherwise, then cool - but when the theme's that good it pays to make the most of it! -

This is really nice. I like the atmosphere in this park. There are small portions that remind me of my old style, and i like it.
There are a few things i spot that you can change if you want, its nothing too serious. I notice on the beemer that you have the custom support thing going on. Around the helix there are custom supports missing, and its noticable in comparison to the rest, id try to put something there. Also at certain parts, the buildings overpower the paths. Try to balance it. Still, it looks like it will turn out good. -
Richie Offline
I have already sorted out the custom supports that looked missing. I have lowered a few of the buildings too, but not all of them, the rest will be much more spread out.
Thanks for the replies and keep them coming -

I have post a picture of the swamp next to the Silencer que line, i added coloured water tiles to try giving it a more 'swamp-ish' effect. Let me know what you think, if you dont like it ill scrap it, it was only a quick experiment after all
Could a moderator please change the spelling 'amusant' to 'amusment', it would be a great help, and who changed the description? Please change that to 'New park in the making' please, i didnt know that palm springs amusment park had been used before.
Feedback please, all constructive critism welcome
My webshots album,-=>Here<=-, the new pic may not have uploaded yet, it will be done within 30 mins.Attached Images

Only scrap it if you dont like it. If you do, then keep it. Play RCT2 for you. Not for anyone else. Thats my problem. Thats why im taking a break. You have skills dont ruin them by worrying about what people think.if you dont like it ill scrap it
-
Richie Offline
Yea, i do play RCT for me, but its always good to have a second opinion.
BTW, RageAgainstThisAge, you didnt tell me if you liked it -
mantis Offline
I actually like it like that. It's a shame there aren't diagonal water tiles, cos then you could make the edges of the swamp more realistic. Maybe you could cover some of the corners with bushes/weeds, to make it more natural?
It looks great, though. I'm still enjoying looking at the colour scheme, too!
