After years of playing RCT, I finally found the creative side of the game when I found the on-line community. After many false starts, I at last have almost finished a park (or so I thought).
One of the reasons that I haven’t finished a park before is that I would always run out of signs. This time, I decided to build the entire park and then worry about the signs at the end. This way I can distribute all the signs available evenly right? Well, when I went to go sign hangin’, I used about seven, and boom… got the “out of signs†warning. I download all kinds of parks with signs all over them. What gives? Is there a patch I don’t know about? How can I display other parks with tons of signs but not be able to build one? If anyone has Info I would appreciate it.
Here are some pics. (Sorry, some of you have seen these on an old board)
A hotel—Terrace on the Park. I didn’t have the 1/4 blocks when I started, so my buildings are a bit blocky, I can’t wait to get started with some of that stuff on my new park.Attached Images

The idea of this hotel was that it went off the edge of the map. Thus, you can see into it. When I posted this on the web before, it wasn’t well received. What do you guys think?Attached Images

well, the hotel does'nt look that spectaculair, and the see in thing is awful imho.
anyway about the signs thing, i feel your pain, i fixed it this time in the scenario editor bij placing about 50 banners when making the scenario, this way when i get the error i delte one from my Sign field and place a new one where i want it, i have the exact same prob, after about 10 signs
the TO MANY BANNERS IN GAME message comes again, the thing i did now is working thank god.
anyway, when your almost done as you say, show some more of the park. -

First off, welcome to NE.....
1st screen: Not to bad IMO....I think you've over-used the yellow / red gardens a bit and do think your building is a bit blocky. But w/o any 1/4 tile, you pulled it off pretty well. I really like the middle / taller section of your hotel.
2nd screen: You're right - kinda fugly. Looks like you built too close to the edge of the map to really finish off this hotel.
3rd screen: Kinda drab, but good color choices. Adding some small detail could really make this look better IMO.
You make a decent first impression here. I would try some 1/4 tile stuff now that you've mastered the basics. -

Well i think it would look better if you kept it without being able to see inside and i think you have overdone it with the flowers. -

He said the point was you could see in...or was that in spite of that? I'm not making much sense, either way.2nd screen: You're right - kinda fugly. Looks like you built too close to the edge of the map to really finish off this hotel.
I like the big buildings and the colours are nice. I don't know what the banner problem is. I get the same problem in LL, but that's because I use too many fucking banners and always hit the (considerably large) limit half way in (anyone know what the limit actually is?).
Nice work. -

Thanks for the comments. After reading them, I decided to close up the hotel. The open hotel idea came because I like to look into buildings to see what’s hidden inside them. I realized that is what the “four†button is for. So here’s the closed up hotel. It’s not that great because it’s on the edge of the map so adding detail or “tinting†the windows was impossible. I’m ready to move on to the next park though, so it will probably stay this way.
I’ll be releasing this park as soon as I figure out how and where to do so.Attached Images

I agree that its time to move on...closing the opened up area of the hotel thing didnt really help the appearance too much...your work so far is better than average, but I think you can really blossom if you try a new park using some 1/4 tile stuff... -

I think you should make it open in the back, but construct small rooms and hallways and stuff. That'd be really cool.
