Ask the Experts / Double Coasters?

Okay, I used to play a cracked version of RCT awhile
back. I liked it enough that when I saw RCT2 for $10
at the store the other day... well, I had to buy it.
I had forgotten how much I LOVE this game. I think
part of the reason is there's so many different ways to
"play" it. I can do scenarios, and if I get bored or
frustrated with the objectives, I can just pull out a
workbench and build my own park. Even better, I like
using the coaster editor in RCT2 to just build coasters.
I try to build them so peeps can ride them in the game,
but most of the time I just get so carried away building
    radically insane coasters.

My question is this: How do I build a double coaster in RCT2?
(A "racer".) I tried deconstructing one to see how it worked,
but it just looked like 2 seperate coasters that somehow
whoever made them was able to save them as 1 file. Is
this what is referred to as "merging"? Do I need a trainer
    to do this?

You need to do a mobius coaster... so the track that leaves one station arrives into the other station at the end and vica versa, so although it appears to be two lanes it's really just one long track.

Thanks Deanosrs for the reply;however, this does not appear to be
the case with the coaster I am studying. The coaster is called "Ugly
Twisters". I don't know whether it came with RCT2 or I downloaded
it with UCES or whatnot. The tracks are completely seperated, yet
intertwined. The tracks and cars are seperate design colors. The
white track has yellow cars, and the brown track has (pink?) ones. :twitch:
The yellow cars never go on the brown track and the pink never go
    on the white track.

Well then it must be two seperate rides. You can name them using a trainer so they both have exactly the same name which rct would not normally allow.

    ^ not completely true.

If you want them with the same name, name one of them "Blah" and the other one "Blah ", the crucial bit being the space after the name in the second coaster.

And if you want two coasters to leave the station at the same time, make the stations with the front pieces next to each other, and set them to 'synchronise with adjacent station'.

If you want the two stations separate, you'll HAVE to have them on the same level, but with 'dummy' stations in between, 'linking' the fronts of the stations together.

Experiment and you'll find what works and what doesn't.

PS if you want to test synched rides, PAUSE the game, click TEST on both rides, and UNPAUSE the game.

Hmm, I tried to do a mobius coaster like deanosrs said but it didn't seem to work. One of the trains start at the top of the lift hill and doesn't wait for the other train ???

Have you got synchronize with adjacent stations on? and the front of the stations must be right next to each other at the same height.
