I don't exactly agree with him, I was only showing how people apply double standards based on past experience(blacks are given more rights than white people).
I was proving that the people of ne are no greater than metal himself. -

Ya. I guess. Sort of. I dunno.k.
but, you see my point.
Well ya because you see in comedy shows blacks may make fun of whites/asians/mexicans or watever but then a white/asian/mex makes fun of a black person. Then it is racist.
Exactly.
But Metal should have banned anyway. -

I am looking at the original meaning of the word racist. That would be one who belives in the genetic superiority of one race over another. Metal never made that claim. If he was a true racist he would associate himself with those of the inferior race. Of course over the past several years a new meaning has been added to racist by the "civil rights" leaders who are seaking to abuse the good of others. They have made it come to mean anything that is "unfair" to blacks. And by "unfair" I mean in which a black person lost out to a person of another race despite individual merit or other factors.Let me summerize for those of us who are a bit too lazy to skim through this bullshit: "Metal makes good points because I completely agree with him."
Wait, let me get this strait, you think he's not racist because he has some black friends? And I'm the hypocrite for picking on the poor redneck? So, If I killed a couple hundred people and let one live, I'm not a murderer? Do you honestly read the shit you write?
And yes you are the hypocrite because you are doing to Metal what Metal has done to blacks. He has stereotyped, and so have you.
As I said earlier. Metal has stated how he feels and why. He has reacted to his environment. You would come to be hesitant toa group if you seemed to have constant bad experiences with them too. -

Don't tell me you're too retarded to know what quotation marks mean...

How can it be a stereotype if I'm only talking about one person? I didn't know Metal was large, diverese group of people.
Besides, I never made fun of Metal. Unlike you, I realized long ago he does it just to piss you all off. Kind of like Duke, Git/Gramsci/Gramscience/3/7/11/13/17, SFK, Kiri, etc. You would think you people would be used to this shit by now. -

Metal, I can understand were you're comming from. Having a prized possetion stolen from you is something that would get anyone angry. However, to blame your problems on this black guy, this is uncalled for. Assholes come in all colours. Telling us that this black guy was the asshole that bothered you, tells everyone here that you may have different oppinions about african americans. -

I find it just a bit sad, how you people have turned this thread around, twisting what Metal said into something he didnt, just so you can try and get him in trouble. I may be wrong, but if you think about it, I think that may just be what everyone has been doing..... whether you realize it or not.
Now, whether that above statement really made any sense is a whole 'nother argument in itself. The argument at hand is whether what Metal posted is racist, or whatever. Personally, I think Lazyboy makes a very good point. Lets look at the definition of "racist", taken straight from dictionary.com:
rac·ism (rszm)
n.
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
Think about it. Is Metal prejudice against blacks, or idiots who "just dont care". Not the former, most certainly not. If he were discriminatory towards the entire black race, wouldnt he have a problem with those black friends of his? They are black, are they not? Now. About this stereotype on hand. Certain African Americans have really made this stereotype against their race. When you think about it, dont a great number of blacks fit the description Metal gives? A lot really, probably more than half. The thing is, that doesent quite seem true with whites. Of course there are horrible whites, quite a lot of them too. Not more than half though. It seems that *many* blacks see so many other blacks like this, they seem to think they need to be that way too. Blacks are also, in general, credited with being the first to really start all this gangster crap. Whether that is true or not, I think that is where the stereotype comes from, and also is what Metal was trying to get at (from what I can gather).
Now, I am sure that if these many certain people hate Metal so much they will find a way to ban him, no matter what, so its not like this really matters or anything. -

But you see, it shouldn't matter what those few do. They are responsible for their own actions, they cannot control what their entire race does... Why judge anyone without knowing them in the first place? People who make these generalizations and stereotypes are ignorant towards an entire group of people, if you don't know them, how can you say what is true about them and what isn't? To say over half of all African-Americans are bad people is just pointing out how you can twist some of what you see into an accepted generalization. It is a case-by-case thing if someone's personality is bad or not. It doesn't go by race, and to say that less than half of the white race are "bad" people is further accentuating the bias and misguided generalizations that are in our world. You don't know half of the white race, so how can you say that less than half are bad people? Instead of using race as a category for "good" and "bad", don't. It makes much more sense to view the person as an individual, not grouped with a few who are viewed as bad.Certain African Americans have really made this stereotype against their race. When you think about it, dont a great number of blacks fit the description Metal gives? A lot really, probably more than half. The thing is, that doesent quite seem true with whites. Of course there are horrible whites, quite a lot of them too. Not more than half though. I want to know how many people here can honestly say that if they survived a horrible plane crash that they would not be hesitant to go on a plane afterwards? Or when you first learne dto ride a bike, did falling off make you a bit hesitant to get back on? You see we all do what Metal has done. Maybe not with people as he has, but with something else. He is human, and acting as any human would. People that have been bit by dogs tend to be hesitant around dogs. Look around, bad experiences cause people to be hesitant. So whether you are willing to admit it or not, you have done what metal has done at least once in your life. It may not have been to people, but you have done it. -

When I first see someone, and they are black, of course I dont automaticly think they are a bad person or anything. I treat them as an individual, and I do agree with you that people should be treated as an individual. Problem is, thats just not how the world thinks, which is really what I am pointing out... these ar'nt really my personal beliefs. Still, this is one thing stereotypes always seem to do, force their way somehow into your lifestyle and way of thinking through much exposure.... no matter how un-welcome they are. -

Ah, okay. I thought you meant that you personally thought that about blacks and whites. Sorry 'bout that.
I don't think we've all done what Metal has done, because each situation is completely different from this. You are dealing with people and their personalities here, not just falling off a bike. Why, if anything at all, should the way someone looks make you generalize into thinking their entire race is a certain way? I just don't get that. Because one African-American is cruel, that makes them all? Because one white person is nice, that makes them all? Because a group is cruel, it makes their race cruel? No... it just makes that specific person/group cruel. If you are afraid of a person because of their race, well, that's just pathetic. If you don't know them, how and why should you be able to pass any sort of judgment on them? -

It's a natural human flaw. We can all sit here and talk about how it doesn't make sense, but that is just it, it doesn't make sense. It is the way we all are. It may not be with people, but with something else. Just because one dog bites a person dopesn't mean all dogs bite. But there are plenty of people out there afraid of dogs because they were bitten once. Besides, I never got the sense that Metal was proud to be discriminate. If anything, he seemed as if he had realized a person flaw,a nd was merely giving an explanation for it. -

commenting on Butterfingers post with the generalizing of a race, i do agree with him because think of it in one word
MEDIA
Whenever you go on the MTV, or listen to the radio you hear an african american rapping usually about having sex, drugs, hate for cops etc. etc. etc.
We always hear of SOME rapper getting killed, or cought with drugs or killing someone. (please do not stray this conversation)
MEDIA
Has created a lot of problems in society let me just name a few for ya, Anorexia, Bulimia, xenophobia, homophibia, and the
MEDIA
even acts upon societies its where the fashion comes from, its where people immortalize their favorite stars.
I'm just saying it would'nt be a whole revolution on society a lot of things play out for blacks, the civil rights movements (and its agonizing continuation), media ofcourse, and their history toward other races perhaps the whites lets say, as for cops who are today and (big time) back in the 50's were the police.
another thing of proof of unfairness that someone just said, if anyone who is in Texas and has to take TAAS test look for it on your scoring sheet, their is a little box that says if your an african american check the box and so you'll recieve so many points (don't exactly remember how many) now i did'nt think any race was smarter than the other. Why should the blacks get extra points? THAT is unfair.
for those who don't know the TAAS test is a test you have to complete in order to pass your grade or A) be held back a year, or B ) be put in "i'm RETARDO" classes.
.....I like the European approach if you don't care about school, than get the hell out! lets keep the ones who do want to learn. makes society so much better don't you think? -

Everyone's racist or prejudiced to some extent, Metal just more than most or all of us. But he's nowhere near a full racist.
Interestingly, my neighbors fall under the stereotype of "bad blacks." They're just jerks.
But frankly, IMO, people like that aren't to be disliked because of their race. Heck, if my neighbors were white, Indian, Korean, Martian, it wouldn't matter.
It's wrong to hate someone because of their race. It's not wrong to dislike someone of a particular race.
Metal may be a bigot, but he's far from being, say, a violent KKK member or something to that effect. -
Rhynos Offline
Corkscrewed - i agree with you very much.
TheGuardian - sorry to rip that last argument about the TAAS apart, but we dont take the Taas anymore, we take the TAKS now. and for the african american issue, they dont add points to their exam, but rather do it for more of a census like thing. see, colleges have to have a certain amount of a race on their campus, or they are fined or something and people may seem to think they are biased toward one race, and they have those boxes there to recognise the exam takers race. -
Turtleman Offline
That's the thing. Race shouldn't even matter to what school your going to, nor religion. They need to get rid of that.
Another unfair thing here is certain races, mostly mexicans get a wayy better chance of getting scholarships then whites. Everything needs to be equal, no matter how hard it was for that certain race. -
TheGuardian Offline
I know, i passed the final TAAS test before they switched to TAKS, now i don't know anything about TAKS but TAAS had this option for the race. it was 2 years ago, so maybe I am wrong. but i'm stuck thinking it was for extra points.
my school acted upon the scores, they reflected the scores on where you'd be placed throught the school. which i thought was idiotic anyway.
well maybe i'm wrong on that part.
