I am Asian. Even though by genetics, I am technically 50% Asian, at heart I'm fully from the Far East. No, I don't speak with an accent, or hang with all the Chinese kids at school. But, having lived with my grandparents (who moved here from Seoul about 30 years ago) I've picked up lots of culture from them. Knowing what it's like being a minority (being the end of many jokes, some racist, and some not, most not), even though you try to justify yourself as being caught with experiences with many blacks, and martyr yourself by having "some black friends", you are wrong.

people, I don't really agree with flaming based on his own experience of people. Metal should not be banned for the assumption that certain black people are bad, and certain black people are good. This assumption can easily be corrected, but no, not at ne. Just fucking ban him. Oh, and with the great justification that a 17/953 ratio of members at ne is a majority. Idiots.

The thing here is that, people like metal make ne a worthwhile, interesting place to visit. These bannings are turning ne into a warmed-over dnet.

Since when is 16 people justification. I'm sure many of those who voted were joking, because they assumed that he would not be banned, with such a silly poll and all. Truth is, I believe that if iris were going to ban him that he doesn't ban just because a few people(by the way, whom have no special rights at the site) want him banned. It should be his own fucking decision, not based on the likings of the members. However, it's not my site, I won't go there. okay? good.

There are currently about 33 members online. 17, although a small one, is a majority. I mean, even Metal himself voted "yes"!

I'd like to see some kind of proof that 17 is a fucking concrete majority of the site. Besides, like I said, most people didn't likely know that someone important would actually take the poll seriously. Oh well. fucking drones.

The point I'm making is that it's impossible to reach a site majority in just 30 minutes of so because only a handfull are online. That being said, 17 is a majority of the sample of 33 members. Also, do you notice that only one of the remaining members voted "no" or "undecided"? Everybody had a chance to state their opinion, and the majority (yes, it is a majority) said that he should be banned. Iris chose to listen to this, so please argue with him if you disagree with the decision.

I'm going to have to say that according to what Metal said I do not consider him to be a racist. He talked about there being great black people such as Dr. King, and that he had black friends. The problem is that you guys are associating racism with what its definition used to only be, the belief in genetic inferiority, while accepting thenewerdefinition of racial discrimination or prejudging. All he is saying is that because he has had soem bad experience with black people that it has caused him to not be as open to them as one should be. Whiel it may be easy to sit there and tell him what is right, you have to see where he is coming from. The way a person looks at the world and others is heavily influenced by their environment. I really don't believe that he just woke up one day and decided he was going to hate black people. Besides, I for one can say he is not the only person that feels the way he does. I must say that I agree that many opf the messages in what is considered the norm where I live (Atlanta) is rather degrading. But I honestly don't give a shit what other people do with their life so it doesn't bother me. But I do have a friend that it does bother. He himself has said he feels that balck people have degraded themselves. That they have gone from seeking equality to just being garbage tyring to exploit the system. And you can't call him some white trash redneck, because this friend of mine is black. So as you can see Metal is in no way alone in his beliefs. He has had bad experiences so they have caused him to act a certain way. If you were involved in some sort of freak accident, lets say a plane crash landing. Would that experience not cause you to probably be a little hesitant next time you get on a plane? Metal has been exposed to what appears to be a rather bad group amongst blacks. And he has done the normal, human thing and reacted to his experiences. But don't say you hate Metal ebcause he has come to hate some people. If you think your better because you don't hate anybody, then your a hypocrite who is in my opinion is worse than Metal. He has at leats stated that he has come to dislike members of a community, and given reasons too. Hating him for this is hypocritical if you claim to not hate anybody because they are all people.
