Keep the rapids, they look great and the coaster layout does look just as good. One thing i have just seen though in the top left of the screen have you put a wall of waterfalls or something in the waterfall there? -

I am very fond of those supports, but other than that, all your stuff seems to be exactly the same...same trees, same archy, same colors...you aren't a bad player but I really wish you'd try something new. -

That looks really nice. The custom supports are very well done, and the layout is wonderful. I really enjoy watching smooth, sweeping coasters (although I can't build them), and the barren, water theme looks great.
This is some of your best work.

thats called themeing, i cant make all the stuff in a theme (Hurricane in this case) all difrant. this will not be like a euroscape with a bunch of repetitiveness tho, each theme has simaluer archy but all the buildings are done carefully in thier own ways. and i have a plan to fix up the trees too.same trees, same archy, same colors...
The coaster supports are something i do, not really coz i like them just on B&Ms i hate the game supports. and the coaster does run very smooth, heres a litte tip: make the lift hill really tall so the ride will have speed. -

Ok for my 700th post i knew it had to be something cool, a BP screen is cool, but i dont have BP (Nemesis Chris has it to work on our mine train) so even tho i cant build in the park i can make tester screens!
This is a much better tester pic of Erwindale Village, as you can see its alot like Ed & Mantis' H2H2 park but with RCT2 scenery and a dab of my own touch's, like the mine train track that i will be useing as steps, that works well coz i can do spiril steps and stuff.
Sorry but since this is a tester it will not be in the park, altho the real stuff will be much like this only real and their for better, plus Ed mite give me a hand with that. -

the mine trains used as steps is brilliant. nice touch there. and great treeing as usual. add some taller ones though.
good job! -

i was thinking the sameWhy copy off Erwindale when you can come up with your own original theme?
Or can you? -
Kumba Offline
very vaild question slob. hum... have any of you guys ever looked at a theme or something and thought "i want to build that" well i did, and i am gona do that here. its not a re-creation or anything, just done in the same style, and with the permission of Ed too. I can do Original themes, the Hurricane theme is Original, but its really hard to think up a 100% Original theme, and then pull it off. and Erwindale was so small i just want to see more of that (my fav, btw) theme.
so no its not Original, but hey, i want my park to have stuff i like in it, and i really like this theme. -

I'll try to catch you online tomorrow Kumba because I have some concept sketches with some ideas I had for the area. With Erwindale Forest being an RCT1 park I had to limit myself to what that game can do. It's fun coming up with more ideas for the theme especially since RCT2 can do more. Stacking the bushes for one thing will be a lot easier. So yeah, this is fully Ed endorsed. I gave Kumba some ideas from what I wanted to fit into the other park but couldn't so hopefully this will be even better than the first version. I'm going to build a couple small thigs in the park too if I can get my head around RCT2 architecture.
The screen looks good, but we need to work on the bush and flower placement because the paths shouldn't have square edges like that. Can you do zero clearances in RCT2? -
Kumba Offline
yeah: Zero, Restore, mergeing ect... I think all the stuff from RCT1 can be done, RCT2s data is more-or-less the same, just with stuff added, and some new layouts, RCT2 used the same engine as RCT1. just you need RCT2 trainers, i can send you them when it comes time to build. also good point about the paths too, the bush's need work. Can you do zero clearances in RCT2?

Really....what's the problem. If Ed's on board and wants to consult on a RCT2 version of Erwindale, go ahead and do it. Just make sure you do it justice...Erwindale is still my favourite single piece of LL parkmaking, so don't mess it up. I would try to make sure you don't just reproduce the look tho, try to add something to the theme that you can say is your own. -

I think it looks phenomenal. It looks different than everything else you've done. The idea rip is kinda lame, but it does look good, and its not like your doing a rec of that area, you are just taking the "elf" theme. -
iris Offline
Theres no problem, it will just be considered by me at least, as a weak part of the park, due to the fact that zero creativity went into the idea really. Just hurts the freshness of the park imo -
Kumba Offline
thanx for expanding on that iris. However i think you will see creativity. to be honest i think thats my biggest and Eds biggest strangth in RCT, like Ed said alot more can be added in RCT2. and this will not be like my PT where i copyed/recreated X-sectors stuff, i think this will be fresh, its what we are calling a "spinoff" to Erwindale Forest, also it will add things that would have been in Erwindale Forest if it was only bigger. maybe this was not the best idea, but im not turning back now, if in the end you dont like the theme i still hope you can enjoy the rest of the park. -
Janus Offline
I think it seems like it'll be a brilliant area. I can't see any problems with Kumba wanting to expand the Erwindale theme in RCT2 combined with his own ideas, and because Coaster Ed is going to be part of it I'm really looking forward to this, especially as Erwindale is one of my favourite mini-parks.
The step/ladder idea is great, and I can't wait to see a 'real' screen of the area. -
mantis Offline
I can't wait to see it in the actual park. This sort of thing should happen more often - it's the highest form of flattery.
