Hello everyone,
For my first ever post at New Element (nice site you've got here...) I wanted to show off a bit of my Cedar Point 2003 recreation. While I'm at work and don't have the screens able to upload, I do have the website with all of the screens up and running right now. You can check out the current database of screens (shows EVERYTHING I've finished) at http://cedarpoint2003.united.net.kg
I also encourage you to visit http://www.virtualmidway.com, where I get most of my real-life pictures in order to recreate things. It is a great site and wonderful for Point information.
From now on, all updates on this project will be right here at NE instead of RCT2.com and RCT Depot. I think this place is quite cool and would like to make it my home.
Thanks,
Mr. Rollercoaster -

Hello.
Nice website.
Decent recreation. The buildings look bulky and very huge, but they are very true to the real ones, so I would have to say you are doing a fine job.
Raptor looks as accurate as it can be.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks Raven.
I really like to recreate things, so I picked a Cedar Fair park. Disney and Universal both have AMAZING architecture and for my first park I decided to do something easier, and decided on Cedar Point. I really want to expand more and try something new, but I think I have to gradually work my way up till I can make things like Disney and Universal.
As for an update, I'm currently scouting the net for pics of Iron Dragon's line area as well as a detailed description of Kiddieland and where the rides are located... kind of lost on that one.
Thanks,

It's looking really good, if you ask me. One thing I suggest, is that you dont make the lift hill and the drop on MF the same slope. If you have to hack the ride to put a vertical drop on it, do so, by all means. It looks better that way. Please dont make MF ugly! And finish this, I want to see it! -

Um, the buildings are very realistic...but they look shitty in RCT. I mean, if you give basically anyone a photo of a building, they can easy stack some walls, but a roof on it, and say its accurate...coz thats what buildings are. The challenge of a good Rec is to make the recreations good AND make them look good in RCT. That's why Aero21 is good at Rec's, and Adam's Islands of Adventure Rec looked amazing.
As for Raptor, I think your rec is VERY good. Very accurate, looks great.
Another thing I am impressed with is the orientation and spacing. Everything is very accurately proportioned, which is very difficult to do. Nothing looks out of whack from above.
Nicely done, just think about what is more important to you: making buildings that are very much like those in the real park (you aren't going to get it exact, its a game), or make those that are still very accurate, yet demonstrate skill and look good in game and will make people say "wow, this guy is good". -

Oh trust me, it will be finished. My whole point in making this recreation is because nobody else does a good job at it. Personally, I think all the others suck, and mine is the only good one out there. It's looking really good, if you ask me. Jeez, I feel like I'm bragging too much...
Millennium Force and Top Thrill Dragster are going to be very creative. I have an idea for both of them...Um, the buildings are very realistic...but they look shitty in RCT. I mean, if you give basically anyone a photo of a building, they can easy stack some walls, but a roof on it, and say its accurate...coz thats what buildings are. A few of the buildings pictured I've gone back and redone. I will probably in the end re-do all of the buildings to make them all look better and release it later than planned.
By the way, did I mention this is on two maps?
Adam's IoA Rec... where can I find this? -

hmmmmm....
Its average. It doesn't look nice; its realistic - but it doesn't look nice. -

This project has been put on hold due to a very serious matter that has just come to me via e-mail. I have the need to pause it and pick up on it in about a week or so.
Sorry folks.
And I'll be working a bit better and harder on it. I know I can do better than I've already done. -

The recreation looks really accurate. I have found one flaw though, last time I checked the new paint job on Wildcat was purple track and GREEN supports. Other than that, everything is looking great. Keep up the good work, liked the TTD flower bed too. -

Well guys, I'm going to start work soon. I'm not going to update the thread at RCT2.com as they're throwing a big fit that I'm Mr. Rollercoaster and CP Freak Jon, so you know what, I like it better here. I'm not familiar with anything here (been here once or twice, but that's it...) but it seems like a fun place. So I'll have all of my topics here... -

The fact that you need pics to recreate the queue line for Iron Dragon makes me think you haven't been to Cedar Point, Mr Rollercoaster?
If this is so I think it's a really bad idea recreating a park you haven't visited, you'll never get the right atmosphere and pictures can be so misleading. I don't think I have ever imagined a ride/park correctly from seeing pictures and diagrams. Something is allways different when you see it in real life.
If you have been to CP then good luck to you, I can't comment on the screens because of the bandwidth. -

Ok folks, I've started work. Trust me, I know the park like the back of my hand... I'll have screens up soon.
BTW, the site SHOULD be down and gone by now... -

Well, distance wise Mr. Rollercoaster lives next door and uses my PC. Age wise, 10 year gap. Intelegence wise, he's probably got me there... lol. I may be older but I ain't that smart...
UPDATE: Games are coming along well. I'll have a screen up soon.
